I have the same problem. Watched 4-5 youtube videos /VEVO/ and then stopped working. i deleted cookies/temp files/upgraded to latest FW / restarted the whole device / restarted to factory settings / restarted my Internet connection (router) / Nothing is working. My device is also APPLE TV 3RD GEN.

Any clue how can this be fixed ?

Same problem here. Appears to be only with some Youtube channels (E.g. The National not working, Late Show with Stephen Colbert working) so maybe the DRM suggestion is correct. Also tried restart (including power cable out) plus switch from Ethernet to WiFi.

I CAN Airplay to this AppleTV from iPad on problematic videos however (Play from iTunes in the Cloud set to Auto). I’ve had the problem before, but it’s never lasted long. This has been going on for days consistently.

It’s not networking, all other apps have no issue streaming, just TV / iTunes content. Been watching Netflix and other things just fine. And of course nothing has changed on local network configuration.

Hi all I have this issue any clues how to fix. It’s not internet Netflix and other working as usual.

Also seeing this, re-logging into Apple account, restarts, etc. don’t fix. My guess is this is a global problem with Apple account related content.

    Aug 8, 2019 7:15 PM

This is more than a simple connectivity issue. It is localized to Apple and iTunes. My DNS resolves just fine everywhere and I have both a WiFi and Ethernet(Gig) connected AppleTV. I can access all other content HBO Now, Netflix etc. I was half way through my movie when it cut out. If I had to guess it cutoff while trying to validate/authenticate the content against my purchase entitlement. If I had to guess.

I was in the middle of watching a movie I own and all of a sudden the movie stopped playing on my Apple TV and presented me with an error that it was unable to load the content. This is happening on all 3 of my Apple TV’s devices and all content that I own. I can play on a local machine, but can not stream.

That usually indicates a network issue.

Make sure DNS is set to auto (settings — network)

To see a current internet connection check speedtest

    If on wifi try ethernet

To see the status of your local network get a report using istumbler, netstumbler or similar. Look for signal strength, noise, nearby networks

    Test on another network

That doesn’t automatically rule out the network, and issues can come at any time and without any changes having been done. Those other services adapt to the connection whereas iTunes is fixed and higher quality. Without doing an actual investigation and proper troubleshooting you can’t come to any such conclusion.

There is no such widespread issue, it is working just fine on my system and for the majority.

    Aug 8, 2019 8:16 PM

DNS should always be set to auto, if you changed it then that is not a solution and a temporary workaround.

Further investigation will be required, however you are free to think otherwise and I will leave you to it.

I had this problem today. I found the problem was the wireless router I was using. Yesterday added an Orbi Wireless Router with 2 Satellites to my existing AT&T internet to expand internet signal range. The Apple TV didn’t let me view iTunes content using the Orbi. I simply switched my Apple TV back to the AT&T WiFi Router and that fixed everything.
