Best dual-SIM Android phones 2021
Best dual-SIM Android phones Android Central 2021
The best dual-SIM Android phones let you seamlessly use two SIM cards at the same time. Dual-SIM phones have always been popular in Asian countries, and they’re now starting to gain momentum in Western markets. With a dual-SIM phone, you can still use your primary SIM and pick up a local SIM to use on the same device while traveling, negating the need to carry two phones.
The power you need : OnePlus 8T — 5G Android Smartphone
The OnePlus 8T is still the best dual-SIM phone you can buy in North America. With the OnePlus 9 series, OnePlus is emulating Samsung and offering single-SIM variants in the region. And while the 8T launched nearly a year ago, it is incredibly fast; the Snapdragon 865 still holds its own for every task you throw at it, the 120Hz AMOLED panel is just as good, and there’s 12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, and all-day battery with 65W fast charging.
The compact option : ASUS Zenfone 8 — 5G LTE
The Zenfone 8 takes the best features that you’ll find in 2021 flagships and offers them in a smaller form factor. The 5.92-inch AMOLED screen is ideal for one-handed use, and you get a 120Hz refresh rate and the latest internal hardware, including the Snapdragon 888, 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage. Best of all, it’s available directly in the U.S., and the unlocked version works on AT&T and T-Mobile’s 5G networks.
The affordable choice : Nokia 3.4 — Smartphone
The Nokia 3.4 combines decent hardware reliable in day-to-day use with a large 6.39-inch 720p screen and 4,000mAh battery. You’re buying this for the convenience; the Nokia 3.4 works on all carriers in the U.S. and has a dual SIM card slot that lets you use two numbers at the same time, and it has Dual SIM Dual Standby.
The best camera : Google Pixel 5a 5G
The Pixel 5a 5G is the default option if you want a mid-range phone with a standout camera, clean software, and 5G connectivity. While the phone has a single SIM card slot, it also works with eSIM, giving you the option to use two numbers. You can switch to eSIM for your primary number and use the physical SIM card slot for a secondary number — but there’s no Dual SIM Dual Standby.
Ultimate value : Samsung Galaxy S20 FE (Global)
Because of carrier pressure, Samsung doesn’t offer dual-SIM models for sale in the U.S. However, you can get the global version of the Galaxy S20 FE on Amazon. The device features the Exynos 990, which is based on what you get in the U.S. model. You still get the same excellent value, with the added benefit of a dual SIM slot and Dual SIM Dual Standby, and it works on AT&T and T-Mobile. A year after its launch, the S20 FE continues to be a fantastic overall choice.
Best on a budget : Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro — Smartphone
Want the best hardware on a budget? The Redmi Note 10 Pro ticks all the right boxes. It has a 120Hz AMOLED screen, reliable hardware, great cameras, and a massive battery with 33W fast charging. It isn’t available officially in the U.S., but you can get the international unlocked variant on Amazon, and it works just fine on AT&T and T-Mobile. Best of all, it has a dual SIM card slot with Dual SIM Dual Standby.
Insane battery : POCO M3
The POCO M3 has a gorgeous design, two-day battery life thanks to the 6,000mAh battery, large 6.5-inch FHD+ screen, and reliable hardware. Oh, and you’re also getting a huge value here. The phone has a dual SIM card tray, offers Dual SIM Dual Standby, and has LTE bands for AT&T and T-Mobile.

The best Android phones all come with a dual-SIM card slot, but because of the carrier-driven ecosystem in the U.S., phone manufacturers like Samsung disable this feature in the region. And with manufacturers like OnePlus following suit, it doesn’t look like things will change in the coming years.
The best choice at the moment is the OnePlus 8T; the hardware on offer here should last you well for several years, and there’s 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage along with an insane 65W fast charging system. The OnePlus 8T also has decent cameras, software that’s very well optimized for the hardware and is a fantastic choice if you want a phone with dual-SIM connectivity. The phone came with Android 11 out of the box, so it isn’t behind the OnePlus 9 series in terms of platform updates.
While there are global unlocked versions of the Note 20 Ultra and Galaxy S21 series up for sale on Amazon U.S., it’s not worth the hassle of missing out on warranty, particularly on flagship phones. I recommend the Galaxy S20 FE instead as it has a better value and isn’t too far behind the flagships in terms of features.
If you need a more budget-focused option, the Redmi Note 10 Pro is the obvious choice. Motorola and Nokia sell many budget phones in the U.S., but if you’re willing to lose out on a warranty by picking up the Redmi Note 10 Pro, you’ll get much better hardware and a great overall value. The same goes for the POCO M3; no other phone comes close to the M3 in the U.S. in terms of value in this category.

If you want the best Android camera, you should go with the Google Pixel 5. Many great options get close, though. So we’ve gathered a solid list to get you started.
These are the best phones for your Verizon Wireless plan

The best dual-SIM Android phones:
Editor’s note: We will be updating this list as more dual-SIM devices hit the market.
1. Samsung Galaxy S21 series
It’s a new year, and that means a new slate of powerful Samsung Galaxy devices. The Galaxy S21 family currently includes three devices, each of which supports dual-SIM functionality. It remains to be seen whether all Galaxy S21 devices are dual-SIM enabled or only devices outside the US.
All three Galaxy S21 models offer 120Hz AMOLED displays, Snapdragon 888 (or Exynos 2100) processors, 8GB or 12GB of RAM, and up to 512GB of storage. The premium S20 Ultra even offers 16GB of RAM, although that’s certainly overkill for anything you’d want to do on the phone. Samsung’s new Galaxy S21 family isn’t cheap by any means, but it’s more approachable than in previous years.
The only downside is global editions feature the slightly less powerful Exynos 2100. Also, while you’re here, Samsung’s S10 line of smartphones was all dual-SIM in the same global-unlocked configuration only.
Samsung Galaxy S21 specs:
- Display: 6.2-inch, Full HD+
- SoC: SD 888 or Exynos 2100
- RAM: 8GB
- Storage: 128 or 256GB
- Cameras: 12, 64, and 12MP
- Front camera: 10MP
- Battery: 4,00mAh
- Software: Android 11
Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus specs:
- Display: 6.7-inch, Full HD+
- Chipset: SD 888 or Exynos 2100
- RAM: 8GB
- Storage: 128 or 256GB
- Cameras: 12, 64, and 12MP
- Front camera: 10MP
- Battery: 4,800mAh
- Software: Android 11
Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra specs:
- Display: 6.8-inch, QHD+
- SoC: SD 888 or Exynos 2100
- RAM: 12 or 16GB
- Storage: 128, 256 or 512GB
- Cameras: 10, 10, 12, and 108MP
- Front cameras: 40MP
- Battery: 5,000mAh
- Software: Android 11
2. Vivo X70 Pro Plus
The Vivo X70 Pro Plus sits proudly on our list of the best dual SIM Android phones for good reason. The phone is a remarkable improvement over the X50 Pro Plus. Aside from the expected high-end processor, stunning camera system, fast charging, and gorgeous design, the phone also adds a QHD+ display, an IP68 rating, and wireless charging.
The phone doesn’t come without its drawbacks. It may feel a bit too large to some, there’s a lot of bloatware, and the zoom lens could be improved. More importantly, it’s hard to find outside of Asian markets. You have to really dig to find it elsewhere, but some sellers can import it.
If you can get a hold of one, you’ll get to enjoy a Snapdragon 888+, up to 12GB of RAM, and up to 512GB of storage. The battery is plenty large with 4,500mAh, and an overall flagship experience. The only bad news is that all this goodness will cost a pretty penny.
Vivo X70 Pro Plus specs:
- Display: 6.78-inch, QHD+
- SoC: SD 888 Plus
- RAM: 8/12GB
- Storage: 256/512GB
- Cameras: 50, 48, 12, and 8MP
- Front camera: 32MP
- Battery: 4,500mAh
- Software: Android 11
3. OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro
The latest OnePlus flagships are here, and we recommend both if you want dual-SIM capabilities. Both devices pack plenty of the same features, though the OnePlus 9 Pro has finally ticked into the true flagship price range.
They hit many flagship highlights — high-end processing packages, impressive 120Hz displays, beautiful designs, solid build quality, and excellent battery life. Even better, both phones now come with speedy wireless charging straight out of the box. You still won’t find an IP68 rating on the unlocked OnePlus 9, though the T-Mobile version comes with one, suggesting that both models are waterproof.
OnePlus’ latest version of fast charging lets you fully charge its large battery in just 39 minutes and could provide a day’s worth of use with just a 15-minute charge. A full battery in less than 40 minutes is no small feat either; both phones pack 4,500mAh cells.
OnePlus 9 specs:
- Display: 6.55-inch, Full HD+
- SoC: Snapdragon 888
- RAM: 8/12GB
- Storage: 128/256GB
- Cameras: 48, 50, and 2MP
- Front camera: 16MP
- Battery: 4,500mAh
- Software: Android 11
OnePlus 9 Pro specs:
- Display: 6.7-inch, QHD+
- SoC: Snapdragon 888
- RAM: 8/12GB
- Storage: 128/256GB
- Cameras: 48, 48, 8, and 5MP
- Front camera: 16MP
- Battery: 4,500mAh
- Software: Android 11
4. Xiaomi Mi 11
The first dual-SIM device on our list is also the winner of the Snapdragon 888 race. Xiaomi’s Mi 11 launched first in China, packing Qualcomm’s latest chip and a massive 6.81-inch display. You can also choose from either 8GB or 12GB of RAM to power your new device.
Xiaomi chose a triple rear camera setup to lead the way on its Mi 11, highlighted by a 108MP primary shooter. You’ll have a macro sensor and an ultra-wide lens to work with as well. In addition to your dual-SIM flexibility, you can also take advantage of all-day power with the solid 4,600mAh battery.
Xiaomi has also pulled back the covers on its Mi 11 Pro, Mi 11 Ultra, and Mi 11i, and they take the specs even further. Each one comes dual-SIM-ready, and the Mi 11 ultra packs one of the most prominent camera bumps we’ve ever seen. You’ll get Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 chip on each device as well, so they’re certainly worth tracking down.
Alternatively, those looking for newer phones should consider the Xiaomi 11T series. These include the Xiaomi 11T, Xiaomi 11T Pro, and the lower-end Xiaomi 11 Lite NE. They are slightly more affordable too!
Xiaomi Mi 11 specs:
- Display: 6.81-inch, FHD+
- SoC: Snapdragon 888
- RAM: 8/12GB
- Storage: 128/256GB
- Cameras: 108, 13, and 5MP
- Front camera: 20MP
- Battery: 4,600mAh
- Software: Android 11
Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro specs:
- Display: 6.81-inch, FHD+
- SoC: Snapdragon 888
- RAM: 8/12GB
- Storage: 128/256GB
- Cameras: 50, 13, and 8MP
- Front camera: 20MP
- Battery: 5,000mAh
- Software: Android 11
Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra specs:
- Display: 6.81-inch, FHD+
- SoC: Snapdragon 888
- RAM: 8/12GB
- Storage: 128/256/512GB
- Cameras: 50, 48, and 48MP
- Front camera: 20MP
- Battery: 5,000mAh
- Software: Android 11
5. Sony Xperia 1 III and Xperia 5 III
The latest Sony flagships have arrived, or at least they’re available for preorder. That means you can finally look forward to bringing the new and wildly expensive Xperia 1 III into your home. If you want a slightly more affordable experience, the Xperia 5 III is just around the corner, too.
Sony’s slightly more affordable flagship, the Xperia 5 III, packs a Snapdragon 888 Plus chip under the hood along with 8GB of RAM. However, if you opt for the Xperia 1 III, you can jump to 12GB instead. You’ll find three 12MP cameras at the back of both the Xperia 1 III and 5 III, as well as a ToF sensor on the Xperia 1 III that should help with portrait mode images. The SIM tray accommodates a dual-SIM offering hybrid, dual standby.
Like most other Xperia phones, the weirdly named pair features side-mounted fingerprint scanners. They also come with 21:9 displays that make the phones quite lanky. You also get wireless charging on the Xperia 1 III, an IP68 rating, and even a headphone jack. All these things combined make it one of the best dual-SIM phones you can get.
Sony Xperia 1 III specs:
- Display: 6.5-inch, 4K
- SoC: Snapdragon 888
- RAM: 12GB
- Storage: 256/512GB
- Cameras: 12, 12, 12MP + ToF
- Front camera: 8MP
- Battery: 4,500mAh
- Software: Android 11
Sony Xperia 5 III specs:
- Display: 6.1-inch, Full HD+
- SoC: Snapdragon 855 Plus
- RAM: 8GB
- Storage: 128/256GB
- Cameras: 12, 12, and 12MP
- Front camera: 8MP
- Battery: 4,500mAh
- Software: Android 11
6. Oppo Reno 6 Pro 5G
The Oppo Reno 6 Pro 5G is a beast of a dual-SIM phone. It finally ditches the glossy finish and packs plenty of solid 2021 midrange features, including a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 processor, a 90Hz AMOLED screen, up to 12GB of RAM, and a 4,500mAh battery with blazing-fast 65W charging. And dual sim dual standby, even with 5G.
The Reno 6 Pro’s camera credentials are nearly unchanged from the Reno 5 Pro, delivering a 64MP camera backed by an 8MP unit and a pair of 2MP lenses. Just don’t expect 8K video recording, though 4K video should be fine for most users.
This mid-range powerhouse doesn’t come with an IP rating or any mention of splash resistance, but it’s built from Gorilla Glass 5 and can handle two SIM cards at once. It’s a big device sporting a 6.55-inch display.
Oppo Reno 6 Pro 5G specs:
- Display: 6.55-inch, FHD+
- SoC: MediaTek Dimensity 1200
- RAM: 8/12GB
- Storage: 128/256GB
- Cameras: 64, 8, 2, and 2MP
- Front camera: 32MP
- Battery: 4,500mAh
- Software: Android 11
7. Asus Zenfone 8 and 8 Flip
The Asus Zenfone 8 is a powerful little flagship with premium specs that can handle two SIM cards at once. The Zenfone 8 Flip carries on the successes of one of the best all-around camera phones in the Asus Zenfone 7 Pro thanks to its unique camera mechanism, which flips the rear cameras around to point them towards the front. It’s now a 64MP IMX686 main shooter, with an ultra-wide lens as well and 3x telephoto to cap it off.
Both devices pack Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 888 chipset and crisp Full HD+ displays, but the spec sheets diverge from there. The Zenfone 8 has just a 5.9-inch Gorilla Glass Victus display, while the 8 Flip goes larger with a 6.67-inch option. However, it swaps down to Gorilla Glass 6 and trades a 120Hz refresh rate for a 90Hz version.
Even the battery size differs between the two, with the Zenfone 8 adding a 4,000mAh cell to its dual-SIM setup while the larger phone opts for a 5,000mAh cell.
Asus Zenfone 8 specs:
- Display: 5.9-inch, Full HD+
- SoC: Snapdragon 888
- RAM: 6/8/16GB
- Storage: 128/256GB
- Cameras: 64 and 12MP
- Front cameras: 12MP
- Battery: 4,000mAh
- Software: Android 11
Asus Zenfone 8 Flip specs:
- Display: 6.67-inch, Full HD+
- SoC: Snapdragon 888
- RAM: 8GB
- Storage: 128/256GB
- Cameras: 64, 12 and 8MP
- Front cameras: Same as rear
- Battery: 5,000mAh
- Software: Android 11
8. Asus ROG Phone 5
The Asus ROG Phone 5 is a worthy successor to last year’s ROG Phone 3. It’s the current gaming-themed champion of Android smartphones with the highest-end specs, plus some extras. It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor, a 6.78-inch display with a 144Hz refresh rate screen, up to 512GB of storage, and up to 18GB of RAM. The ROG Phone 5 also has one of the largest batteries on the market at a whopping 6,000mAh, plus an impressive 64MP IMX686 main rear camera.
There are some great stereo front-firing speakers on the phone and a Quad DAC-powered headphone port. Like its predecessors, it has two capacitive Air Triggers for gaming along with dual-SIM / dual-standby support. This phone has two variants, both of which have small rear screens in the back. The Asus ROG 5 Pro has a color PMOLED display on the back, while the ROG Phone 5 Ultimate model has a monochromatic version of the same small display. Both are used to show off animated icons and GIFs, but that’s it.
The Pro and Ultimate models also have two touch sensors on the back. You can buy first-party accessories for the phone, including the Kunai 3 left and right gamepad modules that can be mixed and matched. There’s also the Aero Active cooler which cools the phone when placed on the back.
