Solid debut of promising band — 90%

Young Symphonic Power Metal band Android Soul formed in 2007 and consists of experienced members that were involved in a diverse range of metal and rock bands. It took the band a year to write and record their debut album, “Disappointing Paradise”, which is released through new record label PMM records.

The music of Android Soul is very melodic and most of all symphonic. The intro, which is quite bombastic (but in a good way) sets the tone. But with the first notes of the first real track “Pride”, the band makes clear that they are not called a Power Metal band for nothing. Although there is a large role for the keyboard, the main focus is still on the guitar and there is some marvelous technical playing going on.

The melodies are created by guitar leads or with keyboard leads for the more symphonic parts. The album is quite varied and the band managed to write some excellent Power Metal songs, but also some slower tracks like “The company” and “So Hard to Let You Go”.

The lead vocals are handled by excellent singer Linda Aarts, who also sings in the band Icaros. The rest of the band give support with occasional backing vocals. There are also some guest appearances by Sieges Even vocalist Arno Menses.

With the release of Disappointing Paradise and the new album by other Dutch band Gandillion (which I will also be reviewing), young record label PMM is promising to be a great new source of quality material. Not only are the first bands signed of a high quality. The label and bands worked hard to give their releases just that little bit of extra attention when looking at the artwork and packaging of “Disappointing Paradise”.

A solid album and seeing this was their debut release, one can only wonder how this band will develop in the future.

Любители визуальных новелл, особенно на Android – хотят достойного качества историю, а также множество разветвлений истории, чтобы получать каждый раз уникальный ход сюжета.
