It allows you to conveniently use selected apps and content right in your Volkswagen. How to get the apps in your car.

Volkswagen currently offers three interfaces for connecting with smartphones, with numerous options: Apple CarPlay™, Android Auto™ by Google and MirrorLink®. The wireless connection option for the Ready 2 Discover, Discover Media and Discover Pro navigation systems makes the use of Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ by Google particularly convenient for selected vehicles. To avoid distraction, only certified apps can be started during the journey.¹

With CarPlay™ by Apple, you can control selected apps from your iPhone while driving. Using these apps is as easy as it is from an iPhone. Phone, news, music – all at the touch of a button. You can even operate the system via voice command if you so desire. The wireless connection option for the Ready 2 Discover, Discover Media and Discover Pro navigation systems makes the use of Apple CarPlay™ particularly convenient for We Connect-ready vehicles. Thanks to Android Auto™ by Google™, you can safely operate applicable apps from your smartphone with an Android operating system while driving. You can control everything via voice commands using Google Voice™ and you can, for instance, play songs through Youtube Music™, Pandora or Spotify. Many other apps are already supported. For selected vehicles equipped with Ready 2 Discover, Discover Media or Discover Pro navigation systems a particularly convenient wireless connection option for Android Auto™ by Google is also available. Good app but needs improving!

Great app which is great for tracking all car information and having it stored in one place is a handy tool, didn’t realise how many miles I did over periods of time or how my driving style can affect the cost of a journey! The improvement needed is for the challenges. All of my challenges have seemed to stop working altogether. I am completing trips for Checkpoint 100 and have done over 200 journeys now whilst doing this challenge and I still haven’t completed it, same for Night Driver too, many trips done in the specified time limits and it doesn’t progress any further. Annoying as I must have been at 95 journeys when checkpoint 100 stopped working. Please fix this in an update to make sure the challenges work as that is one of the more fun elements of this app. If that gets fixed then it is a 5 star review for me!

ZERO STAR It’s a awful product and App

It’s has been plugged in since day one. I bought my car in jan 2018. And drive to work. My journey is 12 miles each way and work at least 5 days a week. It’s literally only record hand full times each month. Like it is limit to 5 trips a month so it is a pointless device as it doesn’t make sense as without it recording trips what does the app represent 80% of the app comes useless! It have record 35 trips for the last 9months I will do that for a month
My second issue. It need to have my phone gps running to it actually work as car doesn’t have it own gps. Waste of phone battery as it need to run for the whole journey. So you can get out our car with dead phone or low battery so turning of the gps is the only way to stop it. So u need overview of your route or where u parked ur car (thank you google maps or apple maps as they do that without a sweat). Forget it!
3rd issue. Fuel monitoring. It doesn’t do it automatically. Your car knows when it get it fuel but if you don’t input manually in the app it won’t register it. And also if u have the gps it won’t know ur are at a petrol station. So more manually inputting. 4rd issue my oil services has comes up. Tell me to request service appointment. Don’t even work. I tried the whole to make it work. No Chance. And also my logging doesn’t work either. So it is now a 99% useless app and a product. I don’t do not a see any useful for this invention. I will be deleting it!!

VW just keep getting things right.

Whilst VW keep getting things right it a shame VW UK keep missing the spot. New Polo supplied with data plug pre installed by dealer — “you can connect to We Connect when your ready”. I have a T-ROC R and use We Connect, so no problem I can do that! Well the dealer forgot to mention the “GO” bit of the We Connect that data plug’s will connect with. Frustration and more Frustration after attempting many VIN inputs and being told VIN is wrong! Contacted VW UK customer care — a couple of days later they responded — you need to visit the dealer to check everything is ok with car! Really? It’s a VIN issue, a spanner won’t fix it. Clearly the response from VW UK was a pre-scripted email sent out to everyone with a problem VW UK don’t understand! After sending them a “read my email again please, don’t guess” I got an apology and the info I needed. I made the same request to a VW CarNet email address in Germany, supplied by VW UK and they replied in hours — I with a simple response — you’re trying to use the wrong APP — use We Connect Go — I did and everything is now OK.
