Приложения Яндекс.Карты и Навигатор теперь доступны владельцам автомобилей Honda в Apple CarPlay и Android Auto

Question: Q: CarPlay on 2015 Honda CRV

When will CarPlay be widely accepted and available to end users? I am planning to buy a 2015 Honda CR-V and it would have a NextGen Honda Link. With that, will the CarPlay feature made available on 2015 models over software update or will I have to buy a new Audio receiver?

They just say that they have no information yet, so thought of checking on the support community.

Carplay is available and working where the host manufacturer has adopted it ,as in Ferrari and the after market Company Pioneer

It is totally, as Tim has indicated ,in the hands of the Motor manufacturers .It works as shown by the above two companies up to the rest to show any serious interest and get it into their vehicles if they canh be bothered

They will release compatibility with CarPlay ,to be pedantic 😉

Esarjeant I have been using carplay also in my CRV EX and I have had multiple issues with it. The biggest if which has been the maps. As soon as the navigation starts through the car it gets the heading messed up and thinks north is south. When I unplug from the car and reload Maps it’s fixed, but it will get messed up again when I reconnect to the car.

I have to use Navigation a lot as I work all over the place and this issue has mostly prevented me from using the CarPlay. It’s specially annoying as it will constantly interrupt my audio listening. I have also found the side view camera when indicating will sometimes disconnect apple play.

I have reverted back to Bluetooth as the constant disconnections/interruptions and navigation issues have made it unusable. When it works it’s great, but it needs some updates.

Have you not experienced any of these issues?

Mar 2, 2015 11:07 AM

So I have to ask, how did each of you get that beta from the dealership? I am buying a Honda Civic SE or Accord LX in the next month and I regularly beta test apps and such for companies, so I would love to try this out. Did you just straight up ask someone at the dealership or something? It was indeed a relief to read your posts, even if it is buggy. Thanks

Apr 9, 2015 10:53 AM

I too am looking to find out. I purchased a 2015 Civic Hybrid a month ago and I can’t wait to get it on my dash. The Honda Link products absolutely suck. I’m guessing this will kill their $70 app for navigation.

Apr 10, 2015 1:02 PM

So, in my short conversations with different Honda reps, both local and national, I kind of get some mixed responses, or lack of understanding. but the reason that makes most sense comes from the national source. He said that a while back Honda sent out invitations to current Honda owners whose cars have the Display Audio compatible with CarPlay (this would be the 2015 Civic, Fit, and CR-V above LX — SE for Civic, EX for fit and CR-V). The Accord was not blessed with this at all. The Civic Hybrid does have the proper hardware. The rep said the selection process was random and only a few people, perhaps under non-disclosure of some sort (not judging here guys), as he also said they are keeping a tight lid on this, understandably. So we understand properly, the HondaLink with Aha compatibility is not the same as HondaLink The Next Generation (Display Audio).

With this crowd though, I think they could get a lot more feedback having people actively participate in a beta, but that’s a corporate decision, not an engineer’s decision ;-).

On the other side, from the local rep, he did say there are a lot of issues with the software, though he made it sound like Apple’s problem. which I highly doubt after just spending a few minutes in a test drive with Display Audio. Then he proceeded to say the Display Audio with $100 cabling works great without any compatibility issues. This is likely true since he wasn’t really talking about Display Audio and its apps, just the compatibility with the iPhone and Siri Eyes Free, which apparently do work well. Any updates on your end, do share please.

Question: Q: 21 Honda CRV Apple CarPlay issues

Brand new 21 CRV. I’ve been having Apple CarPlay connection issues since day 1. It originally connected, then suddenly disconnected, then lost. I’ve tried the various fixes. Unplug and plug back the USB, remove and reconnect iPhone connection. Tried various cables. A reset holding the power button worked once. I also did the actual reset to factory too. It works intermittently, so frustrating!

Its definitely buggy. You would think by now Honda and Apple would have this working flawlessly!!

Has anyone actually found a permanent fix? Does any Honda owner actually have an ongoing stable connection experience with their iPhone and Apple CarPlay? If yes, please share your iPhone model, iOS, any solutions you may have found. Thanks.

I have an iPhone X, with iOS 14.3.

Following this. Just got a new 2021 CR-V and have had this problem twice within the first 2 days. Very frustrating.

Ah, issues since day 1. This is crazy. I’d say definitely a vehicle issue and not an iPhone/cable issue.

Hey there AppManCan,

Thanks for reaching out to Apple Support Communities. We understand you’re having issues using CarPlay as expected with your iPhone. We’ll be happy to help.

You’ve done some great steps far. Do you have Siri turned on? If not turn Siri on in Settings > Siri and follow the rest of the steps from this link and see if they help:

We hope this helps.

Dec 23, 2020 9:02 AM

I’ve done those steps.

So tonight, Apple CarPlay starts off ok on my trip, 45 minutes into the drive, Apple CarPlay suddenly disconnects, vanishes off the CRV screen, it goes to playing music on Bluetooth.

The Apple CarPlay icon disappears, I lose my maps. I try connecting and disconnecting USB cable, I tried rebooting phone, it was not recognized.

Am I expected to pull off the highway, turn off the car, reboot everything to get it back online? It doesn’t work every time even doing that.

This is very disappointing.

Please fix, or test, specifically the connections with a 21 Honda CRV.

Dec 24, 2020 7:07 PM

Thanks for getting back with that info. Make sure there is nothing causing interference as this could contribute to the disconnecting — Resolve Wi-Fi and Bluetooth issues caused by wireless interference

If that doesn’t help, go to Settings > General > CarPlay > (stereo name) and forget the device. Then forget your iPhone from the car stereo. Go to Settings > General > About > Name and rename your iPhone. Then reset your Network Settings. Tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. This also resets Wi-Fi networks and passwords, cellular settings, and VPN and APN settings that you’ve used before.

Set up CarPlay once more and see if the issue is resolved.

Dec 28, 2020 7:02 AM

I am having the exact same issues with by 2020 CRV Hybrid.

Dec 28, 2020 2:32 PM

Ford SYNC user here with same Bluetooth connection issues, including sound, disconnects randomly, pauses music automatically, disconnected while using phone to Google something, and much more. My iPhone is 6s running recent iOS update

Dec 29, 2020 10:58 PM

I am still troubleshooting and monitoring this.

I am also tracking this issue here:

i did try disabling the Bluetooth, but Apple CarPlay still disconnected.

I also disabled Apple Maps (as one time it auto popped up on my phone display, ‘you are 30 minutes’ from home, on Apple maps, even though I was using Waze on CarPlay.

I am wondering if it is the Waze map, with the split view. Then perhaps an alert from another app on my phone caused a disconnect. I haven’t nailed down the issue yet. I did try google maps instead of waze on CarPlay and made it home with no disconnect. But I’m not certain if it’s that yet. Haven’t driven much lately, will keep monitoring this. Keep the ideas coming. Thx

Dec 30, 2020 7:59 AM

Thanks for going through those steps and providing that info. If the issues are still occurring after that, you’ll want to reach out to Apple Support at the following link to continue to look into this with you:

I have a 2020 CR-V and for three months and I have problems when I use maps or Waze, the Honda dealer and apple support do not give me a solution yet. truly frustrating

Feb 8, 2021 6:17 PM

I have this issue in my 2019 Accord. Worked great for over a year, and then started occurring intermittently. I have tried all the suggestions too. I have tried different cables, different iPhones, etc. Sometimes just starts working on it’s own and sometimes will start working after the car is turned off and back on. No real pattern.

I have not made the connection to Maps or Waze however. I have had this fail with no applications running. Have had it fail multiple times when dialed into a MS TEAMS conference call. Very frustrating and Honda does not seem to think they have any responsibility here. Any insight appreciated.

Feb 11, 2021 6:28 AM

Same exact problems as AppManCan. INCREDIBLY FRUSTRATING.

I’ve tried all the same fixes and it still disappears, stops working, blacks out, etc. in a seemingly undeterminable way.

I can still hit the menu button on the console and scroll around through the Honda Interface, but clicking on CarPlay just results in a black screen or nothing. Unplugging and then plugging back in doesn’t work either… the Honda Interface indicates that CarPlay is connected (whether plugged in or not) and pressing on the CarPlay icon yields an error message telling me to connect the phone to the USB outlet (whether it is plugged in or not). The only things I’ve tried that will «solve» (read temporarily reset) the problem is to turn the car off, open and close the door, restart, and then plug the phone back in OR reboot my phone and the audio interface/ center console. Obviously none of these are acceptable solutions, and they only work for a while until the problem repeats itself. tip

2021 Honda CR-V Hybrid

iPhone XR iOS 14.4

I’m using an apple USB-to-lightning cable, not a third party cable.

Feb 11, 2021 2:54 PM

I am having the exact same issues since day one with my 2021 Honda CR-V hybrid. I am extremely frustrated.

Feb 20, 2021 6:14 AM

Yes it’s very frustrating.

I have yet to have a trip with Apple CarPlay not giving me issues.

I wish this could be troubleshooted further, like Apple, can you check a diagnostic on the iPhone as to why it suddenly crashes on the phone side.

I have an iPhone X, OS 14.4.

I do wonder if it’s my phone, my son seems to have less problems with his XR.

I also wonder if something else running on my phone that I’m aware of is causing this issue.

I consider myself a power user, I am in IT too, and am used to troubleshooting things .

a diagnostic report from the phone on what may have caused the disconnect/crash would be helpful. Does anyone have any ideas on this?

Otherwise it’s the Honda Head Unit, many many reports of issues.

Who is the culprit.

Feb 20, 2021 9:54 AM

Spoke to Apple support today for 1.5 hours. Did a diagnostic ‘my phone is working fine’, ok, well, something is not working. They’ve suggested I speak to Honda, and follow up again with Apple if needed. It seems to disconnect/crash around the 20 minute mark, but it’s not always consistent.

Wish this worked flawlessly. Unfortunately it hasn’t. I am a fairly advanced user and in IT, and I haven’t been able to figure it out, I’ve tried everything from a user perspective. Something is wrong somewhere.

Feb 20, 2021 2:58 PM

It’s early, but I installed iOS 14.4 yesterday evening. All day yesterday, I was losing the Car Play connection about every 5 minutes. After loading 14.4, and taking 2 approximately 30 minute drives, all good. I will keep everyone posted.

FYI my issues are happening on the latest iOS 14.4 with an iPhone X
