Chrome

Rosetta 2

  • Native M1 Support означает, что приложение уже имеет специальную версию, поддерживающую процессор M1;
  • Rosetta 2 Only означает, что приложение ещё не имеет специальной версии для M1, но исправно работает с ним благодаря эмуляции;

Это Segger Edmedded Studio и Bitwig Studio.

Apple Silicon app database lists all the apps compatible with M1 Macs so far

— Nov. 20th 2020 8:25 am PT

Yesterday we saw a useful detailed list of all the games that are compatible with Apple Silicon (and is being continually updated). Now we’ve got another valuable database for all of the M1 compatible apps available so far.

Official Apple Silicon support for apps offers finely tuned efficiency and really impressive performance, but even non-supported apps running through Rosetta 2 translation run really well (which happens automatically after macOS Big Sur prompts you to download Rosetta 2 for the first time). Rosetta translation is so good that M1 Macs can even run x86 instructions faster than Intel Macs.

But in any case, especially for your most used or most critical apps, it’s exciting and important to see developers rolling out full Apple Silicon M1 Mac support.

A new resource called “Is Apple silicon ready?” created by Abdullah Diaa has launched on the web and includes pretty much all app categories besides games.

The Apple Silicon supported apps database features filters for categories and includes whether an app is Apple Silicon optimized, is relying on Rosetta 2 (partial or full), if the developer has announced a future build with support on the way, and the last update.

Further you can click on individual apps to get even more details:

Check out this useful Apple Silicon M1 compatible apps database here. You can also follow along on the Is Apple Silicon Ready? Twitter account.

Apple has also published a featured story on the Mac App Store highlighting many of the M1 compatible apps already available. And you can also head to the Mac App Store and your downloads (account bottom left > scroll down > and click the iPad & iPhone apps toggle) to see what iOS apps are available on your Mac.

Product Compatibility for Apple M1 Silicon Macs (Updated 3 December 2021)

Apple announced its M1 Silicon chip with ARM-based silicon processors that run in their new computers. This will allow users to cross-platform support of the macOS and iOS.

Software developed for Intel won’t run on the new chips, so software companies are scrambling to make their software compatible. Rosetta 2 is an option for some software. Read more about that below.

In addition, the new Mac runs macOS 11 Big Sur only, so products will also need compatibility with Big Sur. See our macOS Big Sur Compatibility list.

Rosetta 2 Translation Environment

Rosetta 2 is a translation tool, or emulator, that will allow users to run old Intel software on the new Silicon machines. Apple Developer explains, “Rosetta is meant to ease the transition to Apple silicon, giving you time to create a universal binary for your app. It is not a substitute for creating a native version of your app”.

We are only listing products here that we sell. If you would like a more inclusive list, check out Does It Arm?

If you are a Toolfarm Vendor, please let us know if your software is compatible or not compatible. Thank you!

Waves Update

With the release of Waves V13 plugins, we announce full official Apple M1 support for host applications that are themselves Apple M1-compatible.

Waves V13 plugins are fully supported in Apple M1 processors running the following DAWs:

Logic Pro 10.6.3 (in ARM64 mode)
FL Studio 20.8.4.2048
Studio One 5.4
REAPER 6.35 for ARM
Bitwig Studio 4.0.2
Garage Band 3.5.3
Mainstage 3.5.3
Adobe Premiere Pro 2021 15.4.1

Waves V13 and V12 plugins load and work in the following DAWs within Apple Rosetta 2, even though these DAWs offer no official M1 support:

Pro Tools 2020.12 / 2021.7
Ableton Live 10 / 11
Reason 11
Digital Performer
Adobe Audition 2020

Please note: These DAWs have not yet announced official support for Apple M1 processors. However, we have found that Waves V13 and V12 plugins load and work when these DAWs are running in the Apple Rosetta 2 emulator environment. Still, this does not constitute official support, and Waves Tech Support will not be able to troubleshoot technical issues.

Exceptions:

ReWire, H-Reverb, IR-1 plugins: The ReWire software protocol in these plugins does not work on Apple M1 processors. When running in the Apple Rosetta 2 emulator environment, H-Reverb and IR-1 display graphic issues

The following host applications are not supported on M1 (with or without Rosetta 2):

Cubase: Waves plugins cannot currently be used in Cubase on M1 processors.

SuperRack, eMotion LV1, SoundGrid Studio, SoundGrid QRec, SoundGrid Driver: Waves SoundGrid applications and drivers do not currently work on M1 processors. We are working to add M1 support to Waves SoundGrid applications in the near future.

Final Cut Pro*: Although Apple has announced that its proprietary DAWs are officially supported natively on M1 processors (without Rosetta 2), we have found that Waves plugins do not load or work properly in Final Cut Pro on M1 processors.

Waves say that they will work to provide official M1 support for more host applications as they become M1-compatible. We will update this page with new developments as they are available.

Xhun Audio New

All Xhun Audio products are natively compatible with any Intel-based Mac, but can also run on an ARM-based Mac using Rosetta 2.

Although running the software on M1 macOS (Apple CPU) is possible using Rosetta 2, Xhun Audio strongly recommends downloading and trying the demo version before buying.
