Перезапуск службы Apple Mobile Device (AMDS) в ОС Windows

Question: Q: Cannot install Apple Mobile Device Support

My iphone couldn’t connect to the itunes on my PC (Windows 8, 64bit). I tried to reintall intunes several times but the problem couldn’t be solved. Later, I found out that AppleMobileDeviceSupport64 did not intall with itunes. I extracted the AppleMobileDeviceSupport64 from iTunes64Setup and tried to intall the file alone. But still didn’t work. 😟

Here is what it said:

«Apple Mobile Device Support wasn’t installed on your computer.»

«The installer encountered errors before Apple Mobile Device Support could be configured.

Your system has not been modified. To retry these operations at a later time, please run the installer again.»

I also tried the method below. But still didn’t work. 😢

I’m dying. PLEASE HELPPP!! THANKsss!!

iPhone 4S, iOS 7.0.4

you will want to do clean uninstall of all apple products IN THIS ORDER:

  1. iTunes
  2. Apple Software Update
  3. Apple Mobile Device Support
  4. Bonjour
  5. Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)

Then reinstall. Best of luck.

I tried that already. The thing is i couldn’t uninstall them in this order because I don’t have Apple Mobile Device Support on my pc. AMDS just dispeared since the last time i upgraded my itunes. Anyway, thanks for the replay!!

Rip it up & start again as given above.

If it still fails to install properly you could try downloading and installing 7-Zip (free) then unpack the iTunes installer into its components using 7-Zip, and install the missing components individually. They may still fail to install but you may get more useful error messages as to why not.

Hi, thanks for the replay!!

I have done those methods shown in your link many times and it still doesn’t work. I removed itunes and all other apple related software «step-by-step». After rebooting the laptop, I reinstalled itunes. I had to unzipe the iTunes installer and reinstall Apple Mobile Device Support alone since it failed to install properly. I saw a roll back action during the installation and at the end AMDS was still not installed.

Here is what it said:

«Apple Mobile Device Support wasn’t installed on your computer.»

«The installer encountered errors before Apple Mobile Device Support could be configured.

Your system has not been modified. To retry these operations at a later time, please run the installer again.»

When I connected my phone to the computer and opened the itunes, it shows «This iPhone cannot be used because the repuired software is not installed. Run the itunes installer to remove iTunes, then install the 64-bit version of iTunes.» I guess I will never be albe to use iTunes on my pc.😟

Try again. Some people have had success after going through the complete uninstall, delete selected folders, reboot, install as admin steps several times.

May 10, 2014 5:23 PM

I don’t know about Youshigi, but I have been deleting and reinstalling everthing to do with itunes, carefully following the instructions provided, at least weekly ever since the itunes 11.1.4 disaster, and installing Apple Mobile Device Support still gives the error message above. I had high hopes of version 11.2, but it’s just the same.

Simply deleting and reinstalling over and over again is no answer. Is there no expert with a better idea? Or do I have to buy a new pc?

What about a standalone install of AMDS after unpacking the installer? Have you tried creating a new admin account and signing into that to perform the installation?

May 20, 2014 4:59 AM

Thanks. I’ve tried a standalone installation of AMDS quite a number of times without success. The idea of creating a new admin account is a new one on me. I don’t have time to try it immediately, but hopefully will do tomorrow. I’ll come back here after that.

May 20, 2014 6:02 AM

Should it not work, what error messages, if any, are generated when you try to install that component?

May 20, 2014 6:11 AM

Sadly, this proved as futile as everything else I’ve tried — and in exactly the same way. As part of the itunes package (after, obviously, following your instructions in every detail) AMDS installed (as far as I could see from the installation box) virtually all the way, and then rolled back without comment. Installed on its own from the .msi file, it installed and then rolled back and generated the usual message: «The installer encountered errors before Apple Mobile Device Support could be configured».

My belief remains that the process of removing 11.1.4 damaged something, somewhere. I’ve run chkdsk and scannow, neither of which show a problem.

Presumably, there is something in Windows which records (or could record if asked) what’s going on during an installation, which would allow an expert to see what goes wrong and where. My best offer, looking at the Event Viewer log for when AMDS was (not!) installing, msiInstaller generated a series of warnings each time. Most were «The application tried to modify a protected Windows registry key. » followed by an address, and one at the start each time said that «. feature ‘SoleFeature’ failed during search for component. «. But I’m not really sure what to look for or competent to understand or deal with it.

I don’t usually let myself be beaten by the computer — and I don’t often give up. But this looks increasingly hopeless!

Helpful answers

For anyone still having this issue, give this a shot:

First, make sure you have iTunes and Apple Mobile Device Support Installed.

1. Go to Device Manager

2. Locate your Apple device (mine was under Portable Devices. It’s very possible it’s somewhere else for you.)

3. Right click it and select «Update Device Driver.»

4. Navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Devices\Support\Drivers and select that folder

5. Hit next. The driver should install and you’ll see «Apple Mobile Device USB Driver» under the «Universal Serial Device USB Driver» section in Device Manager.

I hope I was able to help anybody who is still having this issue.

Done it. Well. until I got to the part where it wanted me to disable USBs that would also disable my keyboard and mouse functions on my laptop. Kinda don’t have an extra keyboard or mouse lying around to connect up to. Oh, and it stated earlier to disconnect anything connected to the USBs anyway, so exactly how would I connect them if I can’t have anything connected with the USBs? Aaaanyway. I’m just about to rip my hair out.

Keyboard and trackpad are built-in. You cannot disable them. They want you to remove third-party peripherals.

Oh. OK. they must have meant if you’re using a desktop pc. Those articles are so confusing if you’re not an expert. lol. Thanks. Guess I’ll give it another try. ;O) Oh wait. Yeah. I’ve done the Stop & Start service thingy for bothe the Apple service and the IPod service to no avail. The article I was referring to was the one about trying to find the missing mobile device USB driver and repairing or reinstalling it. That’s the one that’s messing me up.

It’s hard to find it on the net

dont download any of the above as they are possibly viruses that can harm your computer. please download the original ITUNES and extract it into WinRar, then drag the apple mobile support driver thing into your desktop, and proceed to installing it from there

For all guys who are dealing with the problem about AMDS driver, I come with workaround.

After many hours to uninstall & reinstall, execute command line, write log, etc. that job did not help.

I installed the iTune on windows 8 x64 (on 2 PCs), and iTune has not been installed before, but it still got error around the Apple USB driver missing. ( even though the PC detects the iPhone USB, but the iTune does not).

1. Download & install Moborobo application http://91.pandaapp.com/pcsuite/

This application installer will call downloading and installing of iTune, but it get all things done perfectly automatically once you click OK. The problem with driver should have be solved.

2. Other workaround, a application does not require iTune, it works awesome.

I ussually use it. The minor issue is this application which are running the Chinese language is default setting, you just click on the circle icon on top left, and move cursor on menu to change to «English».

Note: Please do not misunderstand, I did not PR for above applications, and I do not get anything from that, as I said, I went through many support URLs from Apple site and Microsoft, but they did not help, and I found above solutions.

I’ve installed both of application, but I think you just need one of them.
