Американская корпорация Apple представила новый фирменный магазин в историческом здании кинотеатра Tower Theater в центре Лос-Анджелеса, передает Tengrinews.kz со ссылкой на сайт компании.
В новом магазине, который на сегодняшний день считается одним из самых значительных проектов компании по реставрации, команда Apple полностью обновила интерьер культового кинотеатра. В 26-м магазине Apple в Лос-Анджелесе будет работать около 100 сотрудников розничной торговли.

«На каждом углу Лос-Анджелеса все пропитано творчеством в сфере искусства, музыки и развлечений, и мы очень рады, что можем быть частью жизни этого особенного города. Apple Tower Theater чтит богатую историю и культурное наследие этой столицы развлечений», — сказала старший вице-президент Apple по розничной торговле и персоналу Дейдре О’Брайен.

Здание построили по проекту архитектора С. Чарльза Ли, который специализировался на кинотеатрах. В свое время Tower Theatre был первым кинотеатром в Лос-Анджелесе, где можно было смотреть фильмы со звуком. Однако в 1988 году его закрыли, с тех пор здание стояло заброшенным.

В рамках масштабного проекта реставрации Apple сотрудничала с художниками, специалистами по охране природы и властями Лос-Анджелеса, чтобы вернуть зданию былую славу, Apple назвала его «полной сейсмической модернизацией».

В Apple утверждают, что тщательно очистили и восстановили все элементы отделки, а само здание привели в соответствие с новыми стандартами сейсмоустойчивости. При этом компания изменила внутреннее убранство кинотеатра: вместо экрана разместили демозону с продукцией Apple, а кресла заменили монолитными сиденьями.

Apple Tower Theater находится рядом со знаменитым Бродвеем на углу с Восьмой улицей. Представители компании надеются, что магазин станет еще одной точкой притяжения для всех любителей творчества в самом сердце города.
Ранее генеральный директор Apple Тим Кук заявил, что в будущем iPhone будут производить полностью из перерабатываемых материалов.
