Для подключения «яблочных» электронных устройств к ПК и полноценной работы с файлами девайсов, требуется установка дополнительного программного обеспечения, включая iTunes и iCloud. На компьютерах под управлением Mac OS данные программы обновляются по умолчанию. А для загрузки последних версий софта на Windows нужна утилита — Apple Software Update.

Apple Software Update – это разработанный Apple центр обновлений, который загружает программные продукты одноименной компании, необходимые для работы с iPhone, iPad и iPod. Софт имеет простой интерфейс, полностью переведен на русский язык, включая информацию о загружаемых версиях программ, и доступен бесплатно.

Apple Software Update позволяет загружать найденные обновления полностью или выборочно. Выбрав название программы, внизу появится информация о назначении софта и изменениях, внесенных разработчиками в последнюю версию. Это поможет пользователю принять решение, стоит ли загружать обновление. Кроме того, в параметрах центра можно задать периодичность автоматического поиска последних сборок программ.

Update to the latest version of iTunes

On your Mac

If you update your Mac to macOS Catalina or later, you can access your iTunes media library in the Apple Music app, Apple TV app, Apple Books app, and Apple Podcasts app. To manually back up, restore, or sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, use Finder.

If you can’t update to the latest version of macOS

You can update to the latest version of iTunes (up to iTunes 12.8).

1. Open the App Store on your Mac.
2. Click Updates at the top of the App Store window.
3. If any iTunes updates are available, click Install.

On your PC

Depending on the version of iTunes that you have, here are a few ways to update.

If you downloaded iTunes from the Microsoft Store

Versions of iTunes from the Microsoft Store update automatically when new versions are released.

If you downloaded iTunes from Apple’s website

1. Open iTunes.
2. From the menu bar at the top of the iTunes window, choose Help > Check for Updates.
3. Follow the prompts to install the latest version.

If Check for Updates isn’t an option in the Help menu, then you downloaded iTunes from the Microsoft Store.

How to use Apple Software Update for Windows

Apple Software Update helps ensure that you’re running the latest Apple software in Windows.

When you install iTunes or iCloud for Windows on your PC—or when you use Boot Camp Assistant to install Windows on your Mac—you get Apple Software Update for Windows.

Apple Software Update keeps the Apple applications on your PC up to date. It also delivers the latest Apple security and software updates to the Windows installation on your Mac.

How to run Apple Software Update

1. Click on the Windows icon in the lower-left corner of your Windows screen.
2. Type Apple Software Update in the search field.
3. Click on Apple Software Update when it appears in the search results dialog.

Apple Software Update checks to see if any updates are available. Select the checkbox next to the updates that you want to install, click on the Install button, and then follow the onscreen instructions.

Apple Software Update for Windows runs once a week to check for updates. You can change this frequency to daily, weekly, monthly, or never in the application’s preferences.

Apple Software Update — утилита, отвечающая за контроль появившихся обновлений программ на IOC, их загрузку и установку. Операционные системы Apple содержат программу по умолчанию, в то время как владельцы Windows скачивают её отдельно. Отдельно от приложения iTunes Apple Software Update не работает, поэтому существует необходимость установки стартовой программы.

Основные функции

Самой основной функцией является поиск стороннего ПО, и его дальнейшая установка на компьютер. Полностью автономная работа не нуждается в сторонних действиях, что позволяет сразу после запуска соединяться с официальными серверами Apple. Именно оттуда поступает информация о всех возможных обновлениях. Software Update дает информацию о последней версии ПО, и о той, которую было бы рекомендовано установить. Пользователь получает полный список обновлений. Несомненным плюсом является автоматический перевод на родной язык.

У пользователя есть право выбирать, какие обновления он желает установить. Простой интерфейс понятный каждому предусматривает отметки для выбранных пунктов. Существует режим, в котором все апдейты загружаются в полном объеме. Последний этап – тапнуть по клавише “Установка” и дождаться завершения процесса загрузки. Важно помнить о том, что все действия должны осуществляться со стороны администратора, чтобы системные файлы не были изменены обновлениями.

Update macOS on Mac

Use Software Update to update or upgrade macOS, including built-in apps such as Safari.

Before getting started, it’s a good idea to back up your Mac. Then follow these steps to find and install any available software updates or upgrades.

1. From the Apple menu  in the corner of your screen, choose System Preferences.
2. In the System Preferences window, click Software Update.
   If your System Preferences doesn’t include Software Update, use the App Store to get updates instead.
3. Click Update Now or Upgrade Now:
   • Update Now installs the latest updates for the currently installed version, such as an update from macOS Big Sur 11.5 to macOS Big Sur 11.6.
   • Upgrade Now installs a major new version with a new name, such as macOS Monterey.
     

When Software Update says that your Mac is up to date, macOS and all of the apps it installs are up to date, including Safari, Messages, Mail, Music, Photos, FaceTime and Calendar.

If you downloaded any apps from the App Store, use the App Store to get updates for those apps.
