With Apple Music, you can mark tracks as Loved, by tapping the ♡ button. But, unless those tracks are in your iTunes library or on your iOS device, you can’t find them. Marking tracks as Loved helps fine-tune Apple Music’s recommendations, but users might want to go back to all the songs they’ve loved and listen to them again.

Apple Music should not just be about listening to new music, but finding the music you’ve heard and listening to it again. When you play recommendations, if you like the music, the only way to get back to it is to add it to your My Music library. You can only do this while you’re listening to something, or if you find it again later.

All this should be automatic. Apple Music should facilitate not just finding new music, but listening to it again

You can, if you create a new smart playlist in iTunes and select Loved and ‘as true’ it will create a playlist call «Playlist» just rename it.

As a side note it will only add songs you ‘Love’ in iTunes not on iOS

Right, i know about that, but it works only with music which is allready in my library, not the same for Apple Music service.

I love to have everywhere where i’m listening music this type of playlist which are collect all my «Loved» music for days\weeks\months, it is could be very usefull.

Jul 5, 2015 8:37 AM

Hmmm it shouldn’t, I’ve only ever loved music from Beats 1 or from For You and they all show in the playlist.

Under the iTunes preferences have you got iCloud Music Library enabled?

Jul 5, 2015 8:43 AM

Could you try press «Love» on any track from «Editors choice» playlist, and then check your smart playlist with «Loved» tracks, will that track appears here?

And yes, iCloud Music checked in settings.

Got the same issue. As a workaround I try to add every loved song to my library as well. Then I edited a smart playlist in iTunes, because I couldn’t create a new one, that collects all loved songs that are in my library. This works most of the time, but the strange thing is that the list should sync to my phone instantly. But it doesnt. It’s more like random. I’ve got 42 songs in the playlist on itunes, and 14 on my phone. Some have recently been loved, some are 2 weeks old. I can’t find a reason or a pattern here

Jul 15, 2015 3:03 AM

does anybody solve this?

Jul 28, 2015 11:46 AM

The heart is not the way to do it. The heart is only for Apple to tailor it’s suggestions to your tastes. If you want to keep track of things you like you need to click on the little «3 circle» menu and select «Add to My Music.» These tracks will all show up in «My Music» everywhere. In iTunes you can list your music by song and sort by «Date Added» and you’ll see the tracks that you’ve added. There doesn’t seem to be a way to view «My Music» by date added in the iPhone app. You need to do it in iTunes as far as I can tell. I much prefer the Spotify «+» system. There’s one less step and they are listed in the order in which you added them.

I came here looking for an answer to the same as the OP’s question.

I can confirm, having configured a smart playlist to show Loved = True, only items i’d clicked «add to my library» would show (just added one to Library now and it now appears in my smart playlist).

So, that’s the answer (for now).

1. Create «Loved = true» smart Playlist

2. Click More Less

This works for me as well, but the problem with synching this list to my iPad and phone still exists. My «loved» playlist know counts 53 songs. The Same list opened on my ipad or iphone shows only 16 tracks.

Aug 3, 2015 8:13 AM

Have you added those tracks to Library on your iPad and iPhone as well?

Question: Q: Apple we love your security but when you make it impossible to access an Apple ID using an added phone number so not cool

So Apple you had a good feature with “didn’t get a code” options that allowed the text message to be sent as SMS for Apple ID. While working as an Apple Card buys her Apple ID calls were one of the biggest car drivers. At the time that I worked for Apple simple solution you add an additional number that’s not the number of any of the users devices and that additional number can get a text message or SMS if the original device ie; iPhone is not available.

I’m trying to help set up my sister’s new iPhone Because her last one was stolen and she has no other devices signed into that same Apple ID. But I no longer get that wonderful option of “didn’t get a text message” And send the message as SMS

Sign in with your Apple ID that you had till yesterday.

It would be better if you can please re-post with a screenshot, in order to understand the phenomenon better. Images / pictures speak louder than words. (Do not provide any personal credentials, such as email id, apple id, IMEI number, Serial Number, Phone number etc)

Add a number to your Apple ID from web browser.

Watch the GIF below abd Click on Add Number (On the last screen)

  1. Go to Settings > Messages and turn off iMessage.
  2. Go to Settings > FaceTime and turn off FaceTime.
  3. Restart your device.

Remove the temporary number from https://appleid.apple.com

Watch the GIF below

  1. Turn iMessage and FaceTime back on. (Watch the GIF below)

iPod touch Apple we love the ipod touch but it is missing the following. Can you fix it?

thank you very much sir. for those who prefer a more refined version of said language i shall translate it into my native Oxford English:

«It looks absolutely spiffing, but really sir, ask yourself this. Is it worth denying ones-self 10x the possible storage on said device for the sake of saving only 4mm on the width of the device i have been refering to?»

Surely nobody in Oxford ends sentences with a preposition?

(The queen (it’s her English isn’t it?) would say «. the device to which I have been referring?»)

I’d love to see it take on some of those features (and finally be close to replacing my newton). I’m sure apple won’t officially do that (right now, anyway), but it would be nice.

Or heck, just make a 3rd product out of the same form factor, 4mm thicker, add a HDD, and call it a newton. that would make me really happy though it’ll probably never happen.

macrumors 65816

If Apple put all those features in right now they’d have no «innovations» left for the next gen update.

Give it time. In the mean time everything you want is available on the iPod touch through web apps:

iChat — FlickIM
Mail — Gmail, hotmail, yahoo, squirrelmail, etc.
Notes — Don’t Forget The Milk

Don’t bank on them doing anything that could harm their iPhone sales.

That means:
-No SDK — the OS for the Touch and the iPhone is the same, so they’re not going to be releassing an SDK for the Touch only to marjorly piss off the mobile carriers accross the world.
-No Mic — Do you think they’re stupid? if consumers that could be swayed to buy an iPhone don’t because the iPod can do a passable job of phone calls, do you think they’d really mess it up?

More than anything else, the iPod Touch is a bridge to the iPhone. Its there to help get the world ready for the iPhone, not just those outside the US, but those within its walls too. If you’ve been using an iPod Touch for a year or more, and all of a sudden your old phone breaks down, there’s a good chance your next phone could be the iPhone — you’ve already made yourself familiar with it.

Thats my 2 cents. Like iTunes is there to sell iPods, the Touch is there to sell iPhones.

on the other hand. the «touch» is no longer just a music player, so expecting basic apps like «notes» and «mail» isn’t unreasonable.

It has wifi and if the only use for it will be safari , the new music store and starbucks it will only encourage hacking and cause apple and its customers headaches.

Apple will have to release updates to break the hacks. people get frustrated because the updates reset their data.

Having «mail» will in no way affect the sales of iphones. not including notes is just ridiculous. If anything by not making such basic apps available they are only going to reduce the amount of ipod T’s they sell. if they want to sell iphones then why release the «touch» ?

Apple wants to sell both, apple needs to address the needs of both sets of consumers.

You also need to keep in mind that the «touch» will be available world wide so the consumer base for it will be much larger than that of the iphone.

North, Central and South America, Europe (eastern and western), Asia, Australia, Africa and all the islands in between.

As I said we all want one but could you include the following please.

Mail (a must)
ichat (a must)
Notes (a must)
widgets (. I guess all is a must )

and since we dont need to worry so much about security as in the iphone, please release a SDK.

Also, on the next revision, please inlude a mic so that we can record voice notes and audio conferencing for when skype is available. Oh, and also allow the earphones to control the volume and play functions.

Some want bluetooth too, others want more GBs, if you can add it, great! For me 8 or 16GB is enough.

I think thats all. Teleport would be great but you could add that to the iphone.

Erm. I thought it was a iPod, not a PDA.

To me it seems slightly confused as to what it wants to be. Is it a iPod with extra features, or is it a crippled PDA?

Mail and all that, you’d expect that in a PDA, but not in an iPod.

PlaceofDis

macrumors Core

its an iPod. not a PDA. its primary function is a music/movie player first and foremost.

and they can’t add all that and expect the iPhone to still sell.

Then buy a nano.

What are you spending the extra $150 for, if not more functionality?

People who want a phone will buy the iPhone. People who don’t need a phone but want PDA functionality will get the iPod Touch. People who don’t need a PDA will get the nano, classic, or shuffle. Apple makes money either way. They shouldn’t handcuff their products, they should make money by making the best possible products.

Mail, Notes, widgets (weather etc) are coming soon, probably not from Apple but most certainly within the first couple of days of the touch’s release we will be easily able to ‘hack’ them into the ipod. Check out modmyiphone.com

iChat, not yet, but theres some 3rd party IM solutions already out for the iphone which will again be easily transported to the iPod touch.

Mic, not gonna happen. I too would love that feature, if only to record my lectures.

Earphones, yeah that’d be nice.

I think most of the functionality is going to come out from the iphone/itouch hacking scene.
