Сегодня ночью по американскому кабельному каналу AMC начался показ второй половины финального сезона ТВ-сериала «Во все тяжкие» с Брайаном Кренстоном в главной роли. Телесериал популярен во всём мире, и последняя премьера была особенно ожидаемой.

В то время как любители кабельного телевидения уже наслаждаются продолжением последнего сезона, для пользователей iTunes фильм внезапно оказался недоступен. Все, кто приобрёл Season Pass, не смогут просмотреть вторую половину сезона.

Как пишет 9to5Mac, AMC всегда рекламировали пятый сезон «Во все тяжкие» как один целый, разделённый на две части. Первые 8 серий начали транслировать летом прошлого года, последние 8 – с этого воскресения. Проблема в том, что большинство пользователей, приобретая первую половину сезона, рассчитывали, что вторая часть также войдет в пакет. На деле вышло иначе. В воскресение вечером продолжение «Во все тяжкие» появилось в iTunes в виде отдельной покупки.

Для тех, кто не знаком с функцией Season Pass в iTunes, напомним ее суть: пользователь может приобрести весь сезон любого сериала с небольшой скидкой. Например, прошлым летом пятый сезон «Во все тяжкие» стоил $21,99. Это средний ценник за 8 эпизодов. Однако текст описания уже тогда вводил зрителей в заблуждение: «Этот Season Pass включает все текущие и будущие серии».

В разделе «Отзывы» телесериала пользователи оставляют негативные комментарии по поводу разделения сезона на отдельные покупки. Apple – не единственная, кто сделал подобным образом: Amazon и Microsoft также вынудили своих пользователей отдельно платить за последние 8 серий.

В итоге вам придётся отдать около $40, чтобы посмотреть в iTunes весь пятый сезон «Во все тяжкие».

Судя по «Берегу москитов», Apple TV+ тоже хочет во все тяжкие

Похоже, что после изрядного количества ярких, но более или менее традиционных сериалов Apple TV + наконец замахнулся на магнум опус и заодно попытался выйти из зоны комфорта.

Роман Пола Теру «Берег москитов» — популярная в 1980-х книга про безумного ученого, который вывозит семью в джунгли Гондураса и там тиранит близких и всех окружающих идеями о скором крахе Америки. В 1986-м, через пять лет после публикации, вышла экранизация Питера Уира, где героя сыграл Харрисон Форд, а его жену и сына — Хелен Миррен и Ривер Феникс. Фильм получился добротным, но к сегодняшнему дню несколько устарел — страхи холодной войны не то чтобы куда-то ушли, но содержательно изменились.

Ответственный за «Лютера» шоураннер Нил Кросс получил у Пола Теру не только благословение на новую постановку, но и его племянника Джастина в качестве исполнителя главной роли. Уже с первых кадров понятно, что актуализация романа происходила вдохновенно и радикально. Элли Фокс (Теру) живет с женой (Мелиссой Джордж), младшим сыном (Гэбриел Бейтман) и старшей дочерью (Логан Полиш) где-то в солнечной калифорнийской глубинке. Детей Элли — изобретатель, способный сделать лед из огня (как в эффектной открывающей сцене) — воспитывает в несколько луддитском духе. Вследствие этого они не знают, что такое «Звездные войны», не ходят в школу, зато легко могут поддержать разговор о кризисе общества потребления. Однажды на их пороге появятся полицейские, а мы узнаем, что это далеко не первый адрес (и, видимо, не первые имена) Фоксов, которые уже давно привыкли жить в бегах. Теперь же их путь лежит на юг, в Мексику, прямо навстречу распростертым объятиям местной наркобаронессы (Офелия Медина).

Масштаб замысла становится ясен уже по такой детали: за семь серий первого сезона герои так и не доберутся до заглавного москитного побережья, зато поимеют массу других увлекательных проблем. Если оригинальный роман и близкая к тексту экранизация были про то, как гений из лучших побуждений превращается в чудовище, то новый сериал куда ближе к чистому авантюрному жанру. Здесь много живописных панорам и нарисованных на компьютере бабочек (в последний раз в таком количестве мы их видели в «Далласском клубе покупателей»). Действие переносится из калифорнийских полей в пустыню, а оттуда — в мексиканские трущобы. Кроме того, героев подгоняет идущий по следу зловещий и слегка комический убийца (Иэн Харт), который не только виртуозно режет глотки, но и пишет в свободное время автобиографический роман «Стеклянный сэндвич».

В принципе, красивой картинки и бодрого темпа было бы достаточно, но авторы вложили в «Берег москитов» дополнительный движок — идеологический. Сначала кажется, что перед нами что-то вроде «Капитана Фантастик» на стероидах. Потом — что смотришь сериал, направленный против корпоративного уклада, снятый при этом на деньги Apple . Наконец, ближе к середине сезона и вовсе возникают рифмы с историей Эдварда Сноудена. На самом деле есть ощущение, что Кросс пока сам не до конца понимает, куда может привести сюжет, и делает акцент на деталях и ярких эпизодах вроде внезапного танца троих героев под Моррисси. Эта неопределенность, пожалуй, интригует куда больше живописных съемок. В какой-то момент Элли Фокс слышит в свой адрес обвинения в том, что он не сможет сбежать от Америки, потому что он и есть сама Америка — со всем ее беспорядочным потреблением и наплевательским отношением к ближнему. Эта реплика и некоторые монтажные решения намекают и на то, что в мыслях у Apple TV + — создание собственного аналога «Во все тяжкие», то есть новой увлекательной попытки Америки осмыслить саму себя.
