[FAQ] Как сбросить счётчик устройств в аккаунте разработчика Apple

How to remove device from apple developer account while resetting device list

We have already reached to iPhone device limit so we are not able to add new iPhone to our developer accounts device list. We have renewed our membership for our apple’s developer account. and it is asking us to reset our device list. but when we proceed to reset device list, but we are not able to remove device from device list.

but on next page it is not changing the count of no of devices able to register

So it is confusing for me will it remove the deselected devices and let me add new devices instead of them or the it will just disable them.

I’m about to go through same process. The page is somewhat confusing unless you read all the info carefully. Those devices you check will be carried over and will keep counting towards total device count. Those devices you uncheck will be removed.

However, when I uncheck all the devices, I get this:

This is super confusing. If I’m removing all the devices, I’m expecting the count to go all the way up to 100 again. Unless it tells me the count before reset, in which case this information only confuses the user, I want to see what device counts I get after I reset.

Update

So I went ahead and reset the list. Once you do that, you get this page:

So apart from a bit confusing message before hitting reset, it works OK.

Just need to remember that to remove a device you need to uncheck it.

Your acknowledgement says that, once you reset devices after that you can not reset device in until one year or you renew your developer account again. You can disable any device but it is count in your maximum device limit you can say 100 . That’s it!

If you are the Team Agent for your Apple Developer Program team, you can reset your list of development devices each year using Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles. You can register up to 100 of each device type for testing and Ad Hoc distribution per membership year. At the start of your new membership year, you and any Admins on your team will be presented with the option to remove listed devices and restore the available device count to 100 when you first sign in to Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles.

Although you may remove a device from your account during the year, it will continue to count against your device limit. When resetting your list, make sure to remove all devices you no longer use for development before adding any new devices.

Reset device list on Apple Developer Portal

The limit of registered devices on the Apple Developer Portal has reached 100, and I can see a Reset button on devices list.

I am just not sure what this reset button will do. Delete all the devices or delete selected devices?

I cannot risk clicking on the button without knowing what it does since it’s a company account. Can anyone please help me with this?

Resetting Your Device List Annually

If you are the Account Holder, you can reset your list of development devices each year using Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles. You can register up to 100 of each device type for testing and Ad Hoc distribution per membership year. At the start of your new membership year, Account Holders, Admins, and App Managers will be presented with the option to remove listed devices and restore the available device count to 100 when first signing in to Certificates, Identifiers & Profiles.

Although you may remove a device from your account during the year, it will continue to count against your device limit. When resetting your list, make sure to remove all devices you no longer use for development before adding any new devices.

Now, to answer your question:

I am just not sure what this reset button will do. Delete all the devices or delete selected devices?

You can either remove all or selected devices.

Once every year, at the time of renewal of your Apple development program membership, you are given an option to remove registered device UDIDs and add new ones.

After you click on the Reset button, you’d be presented with the list of all the devices currently added in the Developer Portal. You can choose what devices to carry over in the next membership year and what devices to drop. You can claim the slots occupied by the devices that you no longer wish to use in future.

During the membership year, removing devices doesn’t automatically free up the slot occupied by them (you get a limit of 100 development devices per year).

So if you have reached the limit and want to replace some of the devices with newer/different ones, this is your once in a year chance to do so.

I cannot risk clicking on the button without knowing what it does since it’s a company account. Can anyone please help me with this?

Clicking the reset button won’t immediately reset the list of devices. So you need not worry about it. You’d be resented with on-screen-instructions to help with further action.

It would be advisable here to select and remove only those devices which are no longer being used for app development and/or testing. This would free up an equal number of slots for adding new/other devices during the year.

Note: Removing a device does not prevent you from re-adding it into the Developer portal.

How to reset/remove apple developer team maximum devices without Apple Developer Membership

So I have a long history of writing (more like testing) apps, and thus have a long trail of testing devices. Lately, I wanted to test one my apps on my iPhone, but it tells me that I have already reached my maximum amount of devices that my team can sign.

My Apple Membership recently ran out so that apple is constantly bugging me to renew it, but I don’t want to renew it until I actually finish the app I am currently working on, but since this app is going to be written with unity, it requires it to tested on an iPhone.

(TL;DR)

My simple question is how do I remove/reset the devices that I won’t test on anymore that are associated with my account as to make room for this iPhone?

So basically you can only reset it once every year after renewing your membership. You can reset the list by logging in apple developer website with your developer account, Select Certificates, IDs & Profiles from the left navigation tab, then select Devices tab and select Get Started in Reset your device list before adding any new devices.

What to do before you sell, give away, or trade in your Mac

To prepare your Mac for a new owner, use these steps restore it to factory settings.

Should you use these steps?

If you’ve upgraded to macOS Monterey on a Mac with Apple silicon or a Mac with the Apple T2 Security Chip, follow the steps to erase all content and settings instead of the steps in this article.

For any other Mac or macOS, follow the steps below.

Back up or transfer your files

Use an external storage device to back up your files, or use Migration Assistant to move your files to your new Mac.

Sign out of iTunes

If using macOS Catalina or later, you can skip this step.

Open iTunes. From the menu bar at the top of the screen or iTunes window, choose Account > Authorizations > Deauthorize This Computer. Then enter your Apple ID and password and click Deauthorize. Learn more about deauthorizing.

Sign out of iCloud

If using macOS Catalina or later, choose Apple menu  > System Preferences, then click Apple ID. Select Overview in the sidebar, then click Sign Out.

If using an earlier version of macOS, choose Apple menu  > System Preferences, click iCloud, then click Sign Out.

You will be asked whether to keep a copy of your iCloud data on this Mac. You can keep a copy, because you’re erasing your Mac later. Your iCloud data remains in iCloud and on any other devices that are signed in to iCloud with your Apple ID.

Sign out of iMessage

Open the Messages app, then choose Messages > Preferences from the menu bar. Click iMessage, then click Sign Out.

Reset NVRAM

If using a Mac with Apple silicon, you can skip this step.

Shut down your Mac, then turn it on and immediately press and hold these four keys together: Option, Command, P, and R. Release the keys after about 20 seconds. This clears user settings from memory and restores certain security features that might have been altered. Learn more about resetting NVRAM .

Optional: Unpair Bluetooth devices that you’re keeping

If your Mac is paired with a Bluetooth keyboard, mouse, trackpad, or other device that you plan to keep, you can unpair it. This optional step prevents accidental input when the Mac and device have separate owners but remain in Bluetooth range. If you do this on a Mac that doesn’t have a built-in keyboard or trackpad, you will need to plug in a USB keyboard and mouse to complete the remaining steps.

To unpair a Bluetooth device, choose Apple menu  > System Preferences, then click Bluetooth. Move your pointer over the device that you want to unpair, then click the remove (x) button next to the device name.

Erase your Mac and reinstall macOS

Follow the steps to erase your Mac and reinstall macOS. After macOS installation is complete, your Mac restarts to a setup assistant. To leave the Mac in an out-of-box state, press Command-Q to shut down instead of continuing setup.

No matter the model or condition, we can turn your device into something good for you and good for the planet: Learn how to trade in or recycle your Mac with Apple Trade In.
