Не запускается Android SDK Manager

Проблема: При запуске SDK Manager с Android SDK — появляется консольное окно и скрывается, поле чего SDK Manager не запускается. При запуске Android SDK Manager появляется ошибка:

—————————
Android SDK Manager — Error
—————————
Failed to execute tools\android.bat:
Не удается найти указанный файл.

Инструментарий: SDK Manager, Windows 8

Failed to execute tools\android.bat: solution

Posted by: admin February 23, 2018 Leave a comment

When I try to open up the SDK Manager in eclipse it says opening shortly, but never opens. I’ve tried to open the exe file but it displays an error message saying:

Failed to execute tools\android:bat the system cannot find the file specified

My path environment variable leads it to the tools folder.

This is the path:

In my case the Tools directory just disappear.

To solve it:

1) Just go to SDK zip -> adt-bundle-windows-x86_64-20131030.zip

2) Unzip the Tools Directory only.

3) copy it under ../sdk/

I had a similar problem today. Press the Windows button and Search for android.bat(in the search programs and files text field)

Then copy the file to your android SDK folder ( C:\Users\Shan\Documents\Computer Science — YEAR 2\Android App Development\adt-bundle-windows-x86-20130917\sdk\tools\ ).

After that don’t run SDK manager but run the android.bat file.

Hope this helps

I had to move the AVD manager from /sdk/tools/lib to the root folder /sdk

Copy the AVD Manager.exe and SDK Manager.exe from

I’ve been working with this problem for three days and finally was able to run SDK Manager by

==> Running the android.bat file as administrator

Note: I did not have to make any changes to the .bat file (such as setting the java_exe path) in order for the manager to run.

I saw this as a comment on the top answer but can’t upvote yet, so confirming it here!

I cancelled an update to Android Tools and it seems there’s a bug with unzipping the old (or new?) version back into /tools. The zip is located in /temp. Just unzip it into the right location and it should work again.

If the accepted answer doesn’t help anyone, it also might be a permission issue (if the SDK is installed in Program Files (x86) , for example, so try running android.bat as Administrator,

I had the same issue when updating the Android SDK Tools and SDK Platform-tools from the SDK Manager. I had to replace the tools folder with one located in a zip folder inside the temp folder.

I think current Android SDK only works with JDK x86 version. I search so much but when installed JDK x86 version Android SDK manager worked without problem.

Copy your android.bat file to C:\adt-bundle-windows-x86_64-20140702\sdk\tools folder or copy all files to C:\ .

In My case, While I installed visual studio 2015, The SDK files were missed and I am getting an error window shown below.

So I manually downloaded the tools from the following URL.

Then extract the zip file and copy the tools folder in the following location.

It worked for me.

If you are seeing this error, it may be an issue with your COMSPEC environment variable.

I had the same problem. Caused it myself because while runing Android SDK Manager i hit UNINSTALL SDK Tools.

I fixed the issue by running the installation of the Android SDK again. The installation folder had to be the same as previously. After the installation, everything was back again as it was.

This is how I solved the problem on Windows 7:
I was going to update the SDK using Android SDK Manager but android.bat was not found because previously it uninstall the older one and then installs new. In my case my SDK Update was interrupted i.e. in other words, could not install after the SDK Manager uninstalled the tools, so my machine was not able to find android.bat. What I did was just downloaded the standalone SDK tools to the same folder where my SDK were from :

Here are two options for downloading the Android SDK for Windows users. One in recommended option and the other is .zip file. Zip file worked well.
Another option may also work. Try searching android.bat with windows search engine. If you find the one, copy it and paste in SDK tools folder.

open Sdk Manager.exe, then i deleted first Android Sdk tools, so, I also appeared such a mistake, then I downloaded installer_r24.3.2-windows.exe, installing, copy C:\Users\Super Man\AppData\Local\Android\android-sdk\tools folder to my Sdk path, run My Sdk Path\android.bat ,ok!!

I did the following :

  1. I created a folder SDK right below my C-drive
  2. I unzipped tools_r25.2.3-windows.zip to C:\SDK
  3. I moved SDK Manager.exe from C:\SDK\tools\lib to C:\SDK
  4. I first ran SDK Manager.exe in ‘normal mode’,but this gave me the error, but when I ran SDK Manager.exe as ADMINISTRATOR it didn’t return the error.

The reg command exists but for unknown reason my path variable was corrupted during some installation.

AVD Manager can’t find tools\android.bat even though it’s there

I’ve researched this on the internet so much and nothing I find is helping me out. I got the SDK manager to run, but when I try to run the Adroid AVD Manager, it doesn’t run. Why?

It says, word for word, «Failed to execute tools\android.bat: The system cannot find the file specified.»

Why can it not find a file that is clearly where it is looking?

PS I’m running windows 8, installed the latest version of the ADK.

The latest SDK has AVD Manager in the SDK Manager itself. Open SDK Manager -> Tools -> Manage AVDs

I was getting the same error and solved it by going to the tools folder (up one level in my case) and then running the android.bat file. This then runs the SDK Manager and then follow Samarth Jain’s answer above.

Make sure you have the sdk/add-ons folder. I created that and SDK and AVD Managers both worked correctly

I just copied sdk manager.exe and avd manager.exe from ..sdk\tools\lib to ..sdk

You may not have the correct permission level to run the program.

Try doing the following:

  • Right click
  • Run as administrator

The beat and working way to solve this problem is to download the ARM EABI v7a system image for your respective API level and also the Intel x86 Emulator Accelerator(HAXM installer). After that you can run the AVD manager from the SDK manager and now select the ARM system image in the CPU section and now thw OK button will work. It worked for me and hope will work for you.

How to fix «Error — Failed to execute tools\android.bat, error 2 » in Android?

When i click on AVD Manager, i am getting an error as in the screenshot below.

Referred to the following links. But none of the solution works for me.

In Tools -> Lib Folder i have my AVD Manager.

In Tools -> i have android.bat

I tried the following options and it did not work.

  1. Copied Android SDK Manager in Lib folder and clicked on AVD Manager. Got the same error.
  2. Copied AVD Manager to Tools folder and clicked AVD Manager. Got the same error.

Please find below the error screenshot.

Kindly let me know if any thoughts.

My android.bat file was missing when updating the particular SDK package and my computer suddenly shut down. Thus, my tools folder became empty.

You can recover your android.bat file from temp folder

Manually unzip tools_r23.05-windows or any tool_rXX.zip file (red color)

Get a folder called tools (orange color)

Copy all the file in this folder to the original tools folder (outside temp folder, e.g. D:\android-sdk\tools)

In my case, the problem was solved this way. Hope this helps.

Please check your COMSPEC environment variable (intuitive, I know).

There are apparently some programs that modify this, which in turn break these Android tools (and presumably other programs that rely on .bat files as well).

To check this, in a command window, type

The resulting value should probably be C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe

If you have multiple exes jammed in there, or if the variable ends with a semicolon, you’ve got a broken COMSPEC variable. If so, please edit your system’s environment variables and fix it, setting it to the cmd.exe path above.

I got the same problem and I found where it’s come from. I know it’s a 2 year question, but the problem still remain the same for some people.

It will happen when we re-install android studio for some reasons. I even re-installed it 4 times. Problem came at the first time I re-installed. I tried to re-install again and again but the problem remain the same.

Finally I open C:\Users\Hp\AppData that actually hidden. And in the next folder \local\Android\Sdk, now I found some folder Sdk, Sdk1, Sdk2, and Sdk3.

Now I remember, as I re-installed it 4 times, that’s why I have four folders. I remove ( not actually remove, but rename it with additional XX at the end of folder name) Sdk folder and change Sdk3 to Sdk. Now everything is working fine.

Why? because my last re-install create Sdk3 folder that contain android.bat required for the main program where no more exist in the first Sdk folder.

Before I got this as well :

And now it’s missing and the problem is solved.

If you happen got the same problem with me. hope it could help you.
