Add version.properties file to your Android Project

T his story is from what I have learned today, As we all have the build variants in our project and In every product flavors we have version name and version code, whenever we published the build to the play store we increase our version code and version name and change in our all product flavor one by one….

What If we add a file called version.properties in our project and change the version name and version code from this file and then it will reflect it on our all the product flavors, let’s start how we gonna achieve this.

Step1:

A d d a file called version.properties in your project -> app folder.

Step2:

Add version code and version name in this file.

Step3:

Now, this is the main part everything is set up now, and we need to read the file in our build.gradle.

That’s it now define the code and name in your every product flavor like below:

Map information is divided into a series of layers that can be added, removed and adjusted using the Map Layers Menu.

1. Tap the Map Layers Button in the bottom-left corner of the main screen to open the Map Layers Menu.

2. The Map Layers Menu is divided into two sections:

• My Layers: layers that are currently available for viewing on the map.
• Layer Library: storage location for layers not regularly used.

3. In the My Layers section, locate the Map Layer containing the information you need, and tap the icon next to the layer’s name to turn it on.

4. The information included on the Map Layer will now be visible on your map.

We gather our data from a variety of sources, and we’re constantly checking to make sure our source is the most accurate available in all areas. We work with our data sources to make any corrections whenever errors are discovered.

For the most part, you can expect the private property boundaries to be accurate to within 5-10 feet. However, this depends on the individual county and data source.

How to Find Hidden Apps on Android

Find out what your teens are doing on their phones

This article explains how to uncover hidden apps on an Android device. The information below should apply no matter who made your Android phone: Samsung, Google, Huawei, Xiaomi, etc.

How to Find Hidden Apps in the App Drawer

Viewing apps on the Android home screen is a good start, but this doesn’t show every app installed on an Android device. To see the complete list of installed apps, including vault apps, open the app drawer by tapping the icon in the lower-middle section of the screen that looks like a circle with six dots in it.

After tapping on this icon, a full list appears with the installed apps sorted alphabetically. This should show you most of the apps on the Android device, but some may be hidden. To show these hidden apps, do the following.

This method isn’t available on all Android devices by default. The launcher determines the options in the tray. If you don’t have these options, try a different launcher, like Nova Prime, which supports hiding apps.

From the app drawer, tap the three dots in the upper-right corner of the screen.

Tap Hide apps.

The list of apps that are hidden from the app list displays. If this screen is blank or the Hide apps option is missing, no apps are hidden.

How to Find Hidden Apps in Settings

A full app list can also be accessed from the Settings app. Tap Settings (the icon looks like a gear). In Settings, tap Apps & notifications, then tap See all apps.

The app list also displays system files and apps, which make the Android operating system run correctly. To show these, tap the three dots in the upper-right corner, then tap Show system.

Check for Android Trick Apps

Looking at an app’s icon and name may not be enough to tell what’s happening on an Android phone or tablet. There are numerous apps in the Google Play app store that look like one sort of app but are designed to hide images, videos, and other data.

One popular example is the Smart Hide Calculator app that looks and works like a basic calculator app but is a file storage application. The calculator UI is fully functional, but it unlocks and reveals its real purpose when a user types in their PIN code.

To double-check the true identity of any Android app, do the following.

Press the app icon until a small menu appears.

Tap the small i in a circle next to a pencil.

A page that details everything about the app, from its storage size to its permissions, appears. Tap App details.

The app’s product page in the Google Play app store appears. From here, you can read official information about the app, including reviews by other users.

Understanding Android Folders and Screens

Like most smartphones and tablets, Android devices feature a home screen that extends horizontally beyond what you first see when you turn on the device. The other parts of the home screen are used to sort apps and widgets into groups and hide apps from prying eyes.

To view all sections of the home screen on an Android device, swipe from right to left.

There may be more than one additional screen, so continue to swipe left until the visible icons cannot move any further.

Another way to hide apps on Android is to place apps within a folder. Folders are visible on the home screen and look like a collection of four small app icons. Tap the folder to open it and view the apps.

Don’t Forget About Web Apps

More companies add full app functionality to their websites, which means that users no longer have to download and install an app to access it. Instagram is one example of a functional web app used in a web browser such as Chrome, Edge, or Firefox. Tinder is another.

To check if a user has accessed a specific site, open the web browser apps on their Android smartphone or tablet, then check its browser history. Browser history can be deleted in most browsers, though, so this isn’t a foolproof way of finding out what websites have been visited.

To find iPhone hidden apps, go to the App Store on your device and tap your profile picture, then your name. Under iTunes in the Cloud, tap Hidden Purchases. Alternatively, go Account Settings and tap Purchase History.

If you have spyware, or «hidden administrator apps,» on your Android, navigate to your list of device admin apps. Disable admin rights for the suspected culprit, then delete the app.

If you’ve noticed your camera or mic indicator lights on when you’re not using them, you may have tracking software. To find out what apps are using your microphone and camera, go to Settings > Apps & Notifications > App Permissions. Tap Camera or Microphone, then see what apps are accessing these tools.

Find package name or application ID of an Android app

Android apps use package name as their unique identification. In some references, it may also be called Application ID. Although there are some differences between the two, for most of us non-developers, it is the same. It usually consists of 3 parts, but it can have 2 parts as well. For example, the package ID of Mozilla’s Firefox Browser for Android is org.mozilla.firefox.

As mentioned, the package name is unique to an application. Play Store and Android smartphones identify apps using the package name. Two different apps can have the same name, however, their package name or application ID will always be different. If you have a need of the package name of a particular app, then follow any of the methods listed below.

Finding the Package Name of Android Apps

There are several ways to find out the package name of an Android app. I am listing down the various methods. You can follow any of them as per your convenience.

Method 1 – From the Play Store

As I mentioned, the Play Store also uses the Android app package name to list unique apps. So, the easiest way to find the app package name is via the Play Store.

On a PC/Mac:

1. Open play.google.com in your web browser.
2. Use the search bar to look for the app for which you need the package name.
3. Open the app page and look at the URL. The package name forms the end part of the URL i.e. after the id=?. Copy it and use it as needed.
   Note: Ignore any other information in the URL. It is not a part of the package name.

Do note that it is only applicable to apps which are listed on Play Store. For 3rd party apps, follow one of the alternative methods as listed below.

On Android mobile device

Most Android mobile browsers will redirect you to the Play Store app when you access the website. So, how do you find the package name from Play Store Android app? Here are the steps you can follow:

1. Scroll down to the end of the page till you see the (share) button.
2. Use it and share the Play Store app link to any service from where you can select and copy text. I usually use messaging without sending it to any recipient.
3. The app package name will at the end of the app link which you just shared. Copy it off and use it as needed.

Method 2 – Use an app on your phone

Trying to find the package name of an app installed on your device? Or the app is installed from a 3rd party source, then you can rely on the Package Viewer apps available on Play Store. We are using a well-known app called Package name viewer 2.0 for this tutorial.

1. Install Package Name Viewer 2.0 from the Play Store.
2. Scroll through the app list to find the app for which you need the package name. You can also use the search button to quickly look for a particular application or game.
3. The package name is listed just under the name of app. Just tap on the app name to get more options like copy.
