Cross-pollination occurs when pollen is carried by various means, such as wind and insects, from one variety of apple tree to another. Cultivating several different types of apple trees in one garden or orchard aids this process. When you don’t have the space for more than a few trees or want to try a garden novelty that will be the talk of the block, plant a five-in-one apple tree. Five-in-one apple trees are typically dwarf trees grafted to bear five different varieties of apples in one tree, allowing for cross-pollination and greater yields from a single tree.
Clear a site for planting your five-in-one tree. The spot should receive full sun and the soil should be well-drained. Most apple trees can grow in a variety of soils, but thrive in sandy loam. Order your tree early in the spring and prepare the site before bringing the plant home or receiving it in the mail, as it should be put in the ground as soon as possible.
Fill a bucket with water and place the roots in the water for half an hour before placing them in the soil. Five-in-one apple trees often come as bare-root trees.
Dig a hole in the cleared area large enough to accommodate the roots of the apple tree. For a young tree, a hole that is 18 inches deep and 3 feet wide is typically sufficient. If you are planting more than one tree, allow 30 feet between standard-size trees and 8 feet between dwarf trees. Five-in-one trees are typically dwarf.
Place the tree in the hole, spreading out the roots and pruning away any roots that are unhealthy. The bud union should be 2 to 3 inches above the ground. If it is not, the scion or cultivar may form roots, causing your dwarf tree to become standard.
Fill in around the roots with the native soil that was removed from the hole, watering thoroughly with 2 gallons of water when the hole is three-quarters full. Fill in the hole completely after watering. Cover the area around the base of the tree with a layer of mulch, about 2 to 3 inches deep.
Water the young tree with 2 to 3 gallons of water every two to three weeks. Weed around the tree, eliminating grass around the base of the tree.

Five Red Apples — стихотворение
Это стихотворение про яблоки на дереве поможет повторить счет в обратном порядке (правда, только от 5 до одного), а также позволит детям выучить полезные фразы, например, “high in a tree”, “to look down” и т.д. потому что они будут повторяться в этом стишке целых пять раз!
Для наглядности, и чтобы дети внимательно слушали от начала до конца, можно сделать яблоню из цветной бумаги и картона, с возможностью закреплять и снимать яблоки, а лучше всего, сделать дерево, и яблоки из фетра.

Объемное дерево вам придется держать в руках.
Такое можно закрепить на доске.
Затем такое дерево можно использовать и для повторение цветов (вырезав разноцветные яблоки), счета, животных (птички, белки), закрепления конструкций «There is … » / «There are …». Главное, включить фантазию )
