Приложение для виртуальных путешествий по планете Земля. Основано на спутниковых снимках и топографических картах. Обладает интеллектуальной системой поиска.

Описание

После установки Google Earth на Айфон или Айпад вы сможете просматривать карты разных стран и городов, всего лишь проводя пальцем по экрану. Летайте над Великой Китайской стеной и получите доступ к шикарным видам, прогуливайтесь мимо небоскрёбов Лос-Анджелеса, узнайте, где живёт ваша троюродная сестра, которую вы не видели десять лет.

Приложение особенно пригодится, если вы собираетесь в путешествие или решили изучить достопримечательности и инфраструктуру различных населенных пунктов. Во время путешествий вы сможете просматривать фотографии интересных мест, а также узнать о них что-то полезное, читая выдержки из Википедии. И всё это — не выходя из приложения и не обращаясь к меню. Другими словами, разработчикам удалось свести к минимуму жесты пользователя.

Также вы сможете создавать и сохранять собственные карты с проложенными маршрутами и расставленными метками. Для этого достаточно открыть закладку «Мои карты», выбрать местность, нарисовать маршрут и, при необходимости, обозначить места, на которые стоит обратить внимание. В качестве полноценного навигатора такая опция выступить не может, поскольку не предусмотрено голосовое сопровождение. Однако вы можете ориентироваться на своё местоположение на карте и сверять маршрут движения с тем, что указан на экране.
