Just because Google makes Android and Chrome doesn’t mean you have to use the browser on your smartphone. If you’d instead like to use something like Firefox or a different browser by default, you can. Here’s how.

First, pull down the notification shade and tap on the gear icon to heading into the Settings menu. Next, scroll down and select Apps & notifications to be taken to a new menu.

Here, near the bottom, choose the option for Default apps. This selection will give you some different options such as the phone app, SMS app, and, of course, the Browser app. Tapping on this will bring up a list of various browsers installed on your handset.

After you make a selection, that browser will automatically get used to open all web pages in the future.
