Idmsa apple one to one

Объединение подписок Apple с Apple One

Apple One

Apple One.
Apple One.

Apple One

Question: Q: Is https://idmsa.apple.com a legitimate Apple site?

I’m serching the internet now for at least one hour but I can’t find the information if

is a regular apple domain or some phishing site.

I would appreciate some clearification.

It is Apple’s centralized sign on page, and safe to use.

Hi. It’s a regular Apple site. In fact, it’s the site of the sign in page for Communities.

If fact, of course, Apple owns the apple.com domain, so any URL that actually ends in apple.com is a regular Apple site.

If this is a link in an email, hover over the link to make sure it goes where it says. Anyone with minor HTML skills can make a link say one thing, while going somewhere else.

Here’s an example of a supposed Apple link going to Wikipedia.

Thank you both for your support.

Initially I was looking for a way to see my recovery key for the two step verification. A friend told me he lost his password and never saved his recovery key. Now he has no possibility to access his apple account and lost all of his stuff in it like music and apps.

Actually I don’t know my recovery key either and I don’t see a way to look it up. Therefore I started a google search and found a link starting https://idmsa.apple.com . The site looked normal, perhaps a little minimalistic but ok and the little lock in the adress field was green.

So I typed in my apple id and the password and imediately my phone asked for confirmation. I confirmed and received the number key and typed it in. quiet a time nothing happens but the waiting symbol. Some java script waited for data I assume. Than, all of a sudden the site loaded new with the initial question for password and id. I tried this a second time with the same result. Now I was a little concerned and started my investigation.

Thanks to you I’m relieved. The history of my browser show, this URL was a original apple.com, plus https://idmsa in the beginning and some data behind.

This lead me to my first intention, to get my recovery key. Perhaps you know how I can see this in my account. The support page from apple is not helping because according to this I have to

  1. Sign in with your password and trusted device.
  2. In the Security section, click Edit > Replace Lost Key.

But in the security section, if I click edit there is no possibility to «Replace Lost Key» only change password.

When I go to Login page for this Apple Discussion site, the beginning of address shows: https://idmsa.apple.com/

What does «idmsa» mean? I»m wondering if it took me to a wrong site? (phishing, spam, etc)

They won’t reply here or from Feedback. As my brain started getting closer to old memories I remembered: IDMS stands for Integrated Database Management System . You can read about it at IDMS — Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia .

idmsa is an Apple subdomain. Its just what they call their login validation subdomain within the Apple servers. It has absolutely nothing to do with the Polish website people.

Its fine, and secure. Its an internal thing only.

Is that a LEGAL site for logging in to Apple Discussions? That’s what appears in my addr bar after clicking on LOGIN

Jul 21, 2015 1:23 PM

Absolutely. The site verifies your ID.

At first your reply Kappy sounded like some unknown person: Internetowy Dom Maklerski S.A.

OK, so I looked up that name and it shows:

(Polish: Internet Brokerage S.A.)

So what does a Polish Internet Brokerage place have to do with logging into USA-based Apple LOGIN site?

Jul 21, 2015 1:54 PM

I have no idea. That’s what i found when I Googled it. Try it yourself.

Jul 21, 2015 2:02 PM

I tried and get no further-wonder how to get APPLE to respond to this query (besides FEEDBACK).

Haha, my mind is slower to work too Kappy 😉 . tks for corrected info, from you and Phil, I’m glad to know it’s Apple’s real site, and not some brokerage phising problem from Poland 😊

What about the big url with %2F constantly in my url look ups. I don’t belong to any group, school, gov, or business.

Jun 18, 2018 11:57 PM

Sorry, I don’t know. I was curious about your question and Googled it to find what appeared to be the best answer — giving credit of course, to the original author.

I am wondering why you should need to know or what you expect to gain from using the URL. Do you think it may provide you with special access for if that were the case I can tell you, there would be nothing to gain. The only people with direct access to the hosts are the more senior members here, level 6 or above.

HTML URL Encoding Reference

Jun 19, 2018 8:35 AM

IDMSA is just one of MANY subdomains used by apple.com to «organize» their web services — this one is Apple ID database and login front end to all of Apple’s various services

Other common ones that you will see are support.apple.com — itunes.apple.com — getsupport.apple.com

Jun 19, 2018 8:55 AM

You will get something like this when you go to a forum page when not signed in, and then click the ‘Sign in’ link. The URL is used to get you back to the page from which you signed in, rather than taking you back to the home page and your having to navigate to the page you want again. It’s not a URL you need to take any notice of.

Jun 19, 2018 9:01 AM

Indeed, the IDMSA url is just Apple’s internal secure verification subdomain.

The %2f is just the url encoded value for a slash /

It’s not generally a publicly accessible url. in other words there is no actual website there. Just a server responding to login requests directly

What you are seeing is Apple’s url for password verification with a few parameters added to the end, so it knows where to redirect to after a successful login.

The path=%2Fthread%2F775. %3Fanswerid%3D31. &instanceid=US&l anguage=US-EN&rv=1 points to where you were when you started the login process. It translates to: /thread/775. answerid=31. &instanceid=US&l anguage=US-EN&rv=1 to return you to the correct thread at the correct post, in the correct language etc.

Question: Q: https://idmsa.apple.com/IDMSWebAuth/signin?path=%2F%2Fcreate%2Fquestion%3Ftitle%3Dkkkk&language=US-EN&instanceId=EN&appIdKey=529eb2b096d5a3d54162171f0f29ba797e602812660013123243e58bc7bedf56&rv=1 Not working

Since a few days I can no longer login with the following link (bookmark that should open the login page) via Safari (Version 13.0.5 (13608.5.12)). It just times out. Other browsers tell me the link is not safe. Like:

Cannot Connect to Website

An SSL error has

occurred and a secure connection to the server cannot be made.

only FireFox seems to work. Also if I click on a link in a post it will not connect in Safari,

Any idea as to why?

What OS version are you using? If High Sierra, there have been multiple posts where people couldn’t get Safari to connect to Apple log in pages, iCloud, or sign into the page where you manage your Apple ID.

Safari — Unsupported third-party add-ons may cause Safari to unexpectedly quit or have performance issues.

Safari doesn’t load a page or webpage items are missing. https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204098

Are you running any anti — virus programs? Using a VPN?

Try setting up another admin user account in System Preferences/Users & Groups to see if the same problem continues. Please post back on whether or not this worked. Also try the Safe Mode. Please post back on whether or not this worked.
