Here are the instructions to download and use Odin tool for Samsung devices. Odin is an easy and simple UI tool for the users of Samsung devices. If you hold any Samsung device and willing to install ROM/ stock firmware, Recovery image or Root package .md5 file, then Odin is the best and easiest flashing tool for you. Preparations:

• First of all , backup the entire contents existing on your device, like SMS, Contacts, Gallery times, Apps data and call log etc.
• Also, make sure that your device has at least 70% charged battery before proceeding.
• Enable USB Debugging Mode on the device, go to Settings > Developer options.
• Install USB driver of SAMSUNG at your PC. | Link
• Arrange the original USB data cable for smooth connectivity.
• Disable the Samsung Kies app and Antivirus if any installed on the PC.
• Download Odin Flash tool latest version at the Windows PC. | Link
• Required file for flashing should be already downloaded at the PC.

Steps to Install ROM, Recovery or Root file with Odin

1. Download and extract Odin from above link at the PC, also extract the required file of ROM/ Recovery/ Root.
2. Now Run Odin tool at the PC, by double-click Odin3.10.exe file on the extracted Odin folder.
3. Now turn off Samsung device and then boot in downloading mode via press and hold VOL-DOWN+ HOME+ POWER button all at once for a couple of seconds, then on the warning screen press VOL-UP
4. Once your device in downloading mode, connect it to PC via USB cable. At the Odin screen you will notice that ID:COM port turns blue and Added text displays, it means your device is detected and connected properly otherwise, reinstall USB driver or change USB port.

E: No MD5 file found for.

Can someone please let me know what I’m missing. I’m rooted, and have even flashed a couple ROMs successfully but most of them will fail to install withan error saying «E: No MD5 file found for [insert whatever ROM]. I’m running TWRP recovery (v.2.3.3.1)

In the settings (either in «advanced» or on the install menu) on TWRP you can choose to verify the MD5 sum. I believe that if you uncheck that option it should work.

I will try the latest version of TWRP and see if that works.

The fail has been happening on multiple ROMs. AOSPA 3.15: Hybrid Mode, MIUIAndroid v4.1 & Avatar ROM to name a few. All the same issue.

No MD5 file found

I am having the same issue! this happened on multiple ROMs from various developers, I have tried every thing suggested and verified rooted.

It’s not really an error, TWRP just checks to see if there’s a corresponding md5 file with the md5 checksum for whatever it is that you’re flashing

You can flash any rom perfectly fine without it, but I would make sure that you check the md5sum against the one that the ROM thread or ROM download site gives you

no md5 file—please help

can someone help me. I am fairly new at custom rom work, but I rooted my galaxy note 3 (Verizon) using kingo, and installed safestrap (latest version) and attempted to install cm11 but while installing it does a md5 file check and says no md5 file found. when I reboot, the Samsung screen comes up and then it goes and stays black. I have to pull battery and go back to stock rom. I have tried reformatting my ext. storage and reinstall..no go. please help. thank you very much in advance.

I’m experiencing the same issue.
L710 currently Slimbean, updating to Slimkat 4.4.2 I get the fail for the MD5
I have TWRP 2.6.0.0
I don’t see any uncheck MD5 option only in settings and these are already unchecked.

When flashing back to Slimbean 4.3 I get the error
E: error opening ‘/data/lost + found’
E: error no such file or directory

But it still passes and I’m on 4.3

I’m experiencing the same issue.
L710 currently Slimbean, updating to Slimkat 4.4.2 I get the fail for the MD5
I have TWRP 2.6.0.0
I don’t see any uncheck MD5 option only in settings and these are already unchecked.

When flashing back to Slimbean 4.3 I get the error
E: error opening ‘/data/lost + found’
E: error no such file or directory

But it still passes and I’m on 4.3

It finally worked!

I updated TWRP to the latest 2.6.3.1 and Slimkat flashed with no problems.

This new setup took me for a loop, wasn’t expecting it. After all said and done, I am running. :good: :good:

1. Installed Stock ROM, using Odin3_v3.11.2 (Run as Adminstrator)

My «Samsung Galaxy Note 3 SM-N900» Running on 5.0 lollipop

2. I have rooted my «Samsung Galaxy Note 3 SM-N900» using followiing file using Odin3_v3.11.2 (Run as Adminstrator)

3. Later I’ve installed TWRP recovry, using Odin3_v3.11.2 (Run as Adminstrator)

Now when I try to install MIUI for «Samsung Galaxy Note 3 SM-N900» port ROM, either getting Failed or If it is success my phone does not startup hung at SAMSUNG logo (Waited for nearly 2 hrs).

— Tried above method after wiping the cache and internal drive still the same.
— Tried to install from external card same error
— Tried to install from internal card same error

PLEASE HELP.I HAVE STRUGGLING FROM LAST 1 WEEK WITH ALL THE TRIEL AND ERROR METHOD.

To open MD5 file you need to find an application which works with that kind of file. MD5 file extension is used by operating systems to recognize files with content of type MD5. Here is some information which will get you started.

How to Open MD5 file

• To see if you have an application which supports MD5 file format you need to double click on the file.
• This will either open it with matching application or Windows operating system will suggest you to look for an application for file extension MD5 either on web or on local computer.
• If there is no application on your computer which can open MD5 files you need to search on the internet which application can open MD5 files.

What is MD5 File?

File extensions help computers locate correct application for specific files. Operating systems will not look into the content of the files to be opened, but instead, it will immediately locate the file extension of the file and locate for associated application that can open MD5 files. This helps the computer to organize its functions and work much faster. Most operating systems (Windows) require the use of file extensions, but others do not (Unix).

Open MD5 File on Windows

• Find a MD5 file in question in Windows OS File Explorer and double click on it to launch the corresponding application.
• If a MD5 file is not opened in an application and you instead get a «Windows can’t open a file» error message you should try looking for an application which can open the file in question.
• If you know the application which can open MD5 file then run it and see if there is a File->Open main menu option in the application.

• If you don’t know the application which can open MD5 file then try to search for «MD5 wiki», «application to open MD5 file» or «open MD5 file» queries in the search engine you like.
• Install the application you found and check if it can open MD5 file

Open MD5 File on Android

If you downloaded a MD5 file on Android device you can open it by following steps below:

• In the Android apps list on your Android device find «My Files» or «File manager» app and tap to start it.
• Tap on «Downloads» folder inside the app.
• You should see your downloaded MD5 file in that folder.
• Tap on the file. If Android device supports opening the file you downloaded it will open in the corresponding app.
• If file does not open you can look for the corresponding app that can open the file by searching Android App Store for the «MD5».
• If you cannot open the file with the apps from Android App Store it is possible that the file could only be opened on desktop platforms such as Windows or Mac OS. Try searching the internet for «MD5 file» and see if any desktop applications can open it.
• It is also possible that the file you downloaded is outdated and is no longer supported.

Open MD5 File on iPhone or iPad

To open MD5 File on iOS device follow steps below:

• Open Files app on your iPhone or iPad device. You can find it by swiping down on the home screen and typing «Files» in the search bar.
• Tap on the Downloads folder on the Files app home screen.
• You will see all files that you recently downloaded. Tap on the MD5 file to view it.
• If you have the right app that can open it it will automatically launch and open your file.
• If you don’t have the app which can open it you need to serch Apple app store for «MD5». This way you can find apps which can open MD5 files.
• If this doesn’t help it is possible that your file could be opened only by the desktop application. To find an app which can open it on desktop look for «MD5 file» in your favorite search engine.
