iPhone 7 security breached, iOS 10 jailbreak tool available
Luce Tedesco, an Italian developer posted an image on his Twitter showing a black iPhone 7 that has been hacked. It shows that Cydia 1.1.26 is already installed on the device although Cupertino said that the lates iOS 10 update can prevent jailbreaks.
While the developer was able to successfully hack the smartphone, the jailbreak details were not yet revealed. There is also no confirmation on what technique did he use to hack the iPhone 7.
There are rumors saying that a group of jailbreaking groups from China has been working on an iOS jailbreak tools. However, no jailbreaking team has claimed that they already have a tool that can help the users to jailbreak the iOS 10, The Bit Bag reported.
Jailbreaking iOS is like rooting an Android device. It allows the user to do some tweaks or install apps that is not allowed by an operating system.
On the other hand, Apple is expected to always patch the operating system’s weaknesses that let a hacker jailbreak the phone. It is said however that jailbreak is not necessary for the iPhone 7 as Apple has created apps for iOS that are inspired by jailbreak apps as reported by BGR.
The iOS 10.0.1 update is not as big as the previous version (the latest only 25MB to 60MB), and it is all bug and security fix for the operating system which includes:
- Fix for the issues that prevents recognizing «Hey Siri» request
- Fix for the issues that affects the audio quality for calls through VoLTE
- Fix for the issues that could affect Bluetooth connection between the phone and Apple Watch
- Improves the stability of Contacts apps and Camera
It is also said the jailbroken iPhone is more vulnerable to malwares. Some users who still opt to jailbreak their iPhones probably know how to keep their phones away from iOS malwares.
Moreover, Tedescos’s jailbroken iPhone 7 looks legit but it seems he is going to use the tool for personal use only. But since the iOS 10 has been hacked, it clearly tells that jailbreaking tool is just around the corner.

Is the message true?
Jan 26, 2021 8:14 PM
Probably not. What device did you get the message on, what app, what was the message exactly, from who?
Jan 26, 2021 8:17 PM
Apple do not send such messages.
But if you iPhone/iPad/Watch. are compatible,
you should update iOS/iPadOS to version 14.4 and watchOS to version 7.3.
Jan 26, 2021 8:17 PM
The security breach has been all over the news today. It’s now true, right? If so, how do I update? I’m really not hardware/software intelligent.
Jan 27, 2021 11:17 AM
Your iPad/iPhone may be updating automatically.
If not, go to Settings > software update. It will tell you if there is an update available.
FWIW, companies update their security software all the time to stay current, so just stay up to date and don’t believe everything you read online, especially social media.
Jan 27, 2021 11:26 AM
Security breech for what? Some app? I don’t see anything in the news.
Jan 27, 2021 8:10 PM
What the news refers to is something in the operating system that needs to be patched to prevent bad actors from doing something. (Kinda like getting the oil changed in your car to keep the engine running well)
Nothing to panic about, but still good to get your device updated at your earliest opportunity.
Jan 27, 2021 8:35 PM
After completing the update I was able to browse Safari and then it went right back to the security breach message
Jan 29, 2021 7:32 PM
Can you post a screen shot of this message?
Jan 29, 2021 8:05 PM
If that message tells you to ‘click here’ or something similar then it may be a phishing message trying to get you to go to a certain site that will probably ask for certain info.
If this is an ad on safari then it is most likely a phishing attempt.
Often you can get rid of these ads by force quitting safari and then going into the settings to remove your browser history. If you also have iCloud syncing turned on for safari you may need to first go into the iCloud settings, turn that off, then clear the browser history (if iCloud for safari is turned on sometimes the ad can reload from the cache)
Do please post a screen shot if you can, but also know, Apple will never encourage you to update via a safari popup. Depending on what notifications you have turned on you my be a system popup on the screen, or see the red bubble on your settings icon.

APPLE SECURITY BREACH (updated Dec 2020) — Removal Guide
APPLE SECURITY BREACH Removal Guide
What is APPLE SECURITY BREACH?
APPLE SECURITY BREACH – an online scam that opens your Mac’s camera automatically
APPLE SECURITY BREACH scam is an online hoax designed to convince Mac users to call fake Apple Support service.
Apple security breach scam is a popup that might be encountered after accessing a malicious website on the internet. Upon entry, visitors are shown a brief notification that allegedly comes from Apple support – it is claimed that the security system has crashed and that personal information such as pictures is being transferred. The fake alert then proceeds with a statement that claims a full computer lockout and urges users to call the alleged tech support at 1-800-711-9001 (can vary) to resolve the seemingly frightening situation.
Crooks behind the Apple security breach scam are trying to manipulate visitors by intimidating them and scaring them. Besides displaying false claims, the website also shows the camera view, and opens a fake FaceTime login screen. No matter what you do, never call the provided phone number, as the attackers might ask you to grant permission to access your Mac remotely and steal your credentials or install data-tracking malware.
Simply ignore the fake virus alert and close down the website displaying it immediately. While what the message said is completely falsified, persistent redirects to scam and phishing sites might indicate adware infection, so this should be investigated. For more details, please check the bottom section below.

Note that Apple security breach popup might display a dozen other different phone numbers and warn about other serious issues. Once the user aims to install regular programs with Quick or Recommended settings, they are unable to identify the potentially unwanted program which is bundled together. Therefore, you should always install software only with Advanced or Custom parameters.
Additionally, it is necessary to do not skip steps and search for any suspicious marks, which might permit the installation of adware [2] . If you find any, un-tick them right away and employ a reliable security system to examine your computer for cyber threats.

Question: Q: iPhone 7 Security Breach? Whatsapp, Camera Roll, Email, Apple ID unprompted behaviours
My wife has a rather worrying issue with her iPhone 7 — the phone did stuff on its own overnight. I’m no expert but it’s too convoluted to be a case of sleeping on top of the phone, maybe a security event? Here is what we came across, laid out in chronological order:
— 01:30am : wife and I went to bed
— 01:56 am : a picture of an unknown toddler was added to her camera roll. Apparently taken in the same country based on the power outlets seen in the pic.
— 01:57am: an email with one letter in the subject and a different letter in the body was sent to a work contact of hers
— 2:11am to 2:22am: a dozen «Your Apple ID information has been updated» emails received to the email address assigned to her Apple ID.
— 2:27am: another email was sent to a random unknown plausible email address (which bounced back), which had cc’ed another email address found in her inbox. As above, one letter in the subject, another letter in the body.
— At some point overnight: On Whatsapp, her phone changed the title twice of the first group conversation on her chat list (that she’s the admin of). When I say changing, I mean some characters were added at the end twice.
— At some point overnight: On Whatsapp, twelve or so of her contacts were randomly added to the group conversation above. These contacts were at different location in the contact list.
— 3.33am: half a dozen slow mo videos were taken, there’s a regular mechanical noise in the background and it’s pitch black
As discussed above, it could be a case of her using her phone (or attempting to) without remembering it overnight, or falling asleep with her finger on the home button (to unlock). But. that’s too odd isn’t it?
Please let me know if you have any idea of what this could be and what should be done (I’m saying a wipe, check two-step authentication is on everywhere, and monitor sensitive accounts for odd activity)
