Anonymous, 05 Oct 2021 But the processor difference? will it affect performance significantly? The difference isn’t noticeable to an average user. Unless you’re going to play lots of games then there is a difference but not much.

Should I go for iPhone SE, XR, or Pixel 4a? After going through reviews it seems that the battery pack for SE is a problem.. is it true? and does the ecommerce websites deliver proper good condition phones?
Anonymous, 29 Sep 2021 You can update via cable with a PC/MAC, just go to apple support for instructions. We have no wifi lol its the point
Sudheer Ahmad, 28 Sep 2021 Just share internet from your device as Hotspot. It’s simple 😊 15+ hours nope

Can it be updated to IOS 15 without the need of WIFI. We dont have it and i want to update my grandmas phone to it. But it says it needs WIFI. Is there a setting to switch it to any service. Or is it forced to WIFI ONLY.
She knows nothing about phones so im the one updating her apps and phone.
Probs one of if not the best phone I’ve used far better than android if you don’t like big phones
RTamas, 19 Sep 2021 SOT is so subjective, I could get 9 hours just by daydreaming with my screen turned on at mini. more Every person uses the phone differently, SOT is for average users, average usage, what you suggest is not average usage. SOT remains a good notion of what you are getting, if you are a 10 hour user you know this phone (at 4-5 SOT) is not going to cut it for you.
NovaByte, 11 Sep 2021 Alot of people here saying if you don’t game then the battery is fine. It’s not. Th. more Yes but then you’re buying an used refurbished phone. Invalid argument.
SOT is so subjective, I could get 9 hours just by daydreaming with my screen turned on at minimum brightness
Anonymous, 15 Sep 2021 What an obvious lie. Maybe if you don’t even turn on your phone for 2 days then it mi. more Let’s pot numbers on battery life: 4-5 hours SOT.
I don’t know why people need to be so extremely biased one way or the other.

Apple iPhone SE (2020) review
Display
The iPhone SE (2020) borrows iPhone 8 display — yes, the same that was borrowed in the first place from the iPhone 6. The panel in question was introduced way back in 2014, but it was improved over the years with wide color gamut support, True Tone enhancements, and HDR adjustments.
So, the new iPhone SE packs a 4.7″ 16:9 LED-backlit IPS LCD screen, also known as Retina display, which has 326ppi or 1334 x 750 pixels. This particular pixel density has been introduced with the iPhone 4, and it is the true meaning behind the word Retina in Apple’s world all these years. The iPhone X was first to change that to Super Retina 458ppi.
The screen is flat, protected by a custom-made glass by Corning and has oleophobic coating for additional smudge resistance.
TrueTone color-correction adjustments are available for the iPhone SE display, Night Shift — the blue-light filter, is a part of the iOS feature set, too.
Apple says the screen can display HDR10 and Dolby Vision content. Thanks to the wide color support, the high screen brightness, and contrast, the display can do some improvements to the dynamic range, and you can indeed see some benefits. But a proper HDR-enabled screen, like the iPhone 11 Pro’s, can show you true HDR10 with all the benefits.
And now with all these technicalities out of the way, let’s look at some numbers.
The Apple iPhone SE (2020) screen can be very bright — we measured 670 nits at the top end of the brightness slider. That’s even more than the promised 625 nits from Apple. The black levels are about average, and the iPhone SE panel delivered north of the suggested screen contrast ratio of 1400:1.
The minimum brightness we captured on the white color is 2.7 nits — a great one for reading sessions in the dark!
Display test | 100% brightness
Black, cd/m 2 | White, cd/m 2
0.434 | 670 | 1544:1 | |
0.399 | 566 | 1419:1 | |
0.468 | 640 | 1368:1 | |
0.77 | 618 | 804:1 | |
0 | 679 | ∞ | |
0 | 444 | ∞ | |
0 | 637 | ∞ | |
0.343 | 451 | 1315:1 | |
0.318 | 421 | 1324:1 | |
0 | 525 | ∞ | |
0 | 635 | ∞ | |
0 | 397 | ∞ | |
0 | 814 | ∞ | |
0.61 | 740 | 1213:1 |
We did our usual measurements on the iPhone SE screen, and we captured very accurate levels of color rendering. The screen has an average deltaE of 1.4, while the maximum deviation of 2.8 is at point white. All measured colors are well below deltaE of 4, which means the screen has excellent calibration.
These measurements were taken with TrueTone turned off, as it changes the color calibration depending on the ambient light and can fool our colorimeter. For the most realistic colors, you should keep this option off, whereas for the most eye-pleasing rendeding of white and gray — keep it on.
Battery life and charging
The iPhone SE (2020) is powered by 1,821mAh battery — the same capacity as iPhone 8’s, though a different cell. You can charge the iPhone SE with its ancient 5W charger, the Pro’s 18W charger, or any USB-PD charger really. The iPhone SE also supports wireless charging, so that’s an option as well.
The iPhone SE ships with a regular 5V/1A charger plug that replenish 27% of a dead battery in 30 mins, while a full charge requires about 2 hours and 30 mins.
We also tested the iPhone SE with the iPhone 11 Pro 18W charger — it refills about 57% of the SE’s battery in 30 mins, while a full charge takes about 100 mins.
The iPhone SE posted balanced scores on our battery test — it can do about 10 hours of 3G calls, north of 13 hours of web browsing on a single charge, or you can watch videos for about 9 hours. The standby endurance turned out above average and thus the good but unremarkable overall endurance rating of 59 hours.
Still, for such a small battery, the screen-on times turned out to be rather respectable.
Our battery tests were automated thanks to SmartViser, using its viSerDevice app. The endurance rating above denotes how long a single battery charge will last you if you use the Apple iPhone SE (2020) for an hour each of telephony, web browsing, and video playback daily. We’ve established this usage pattern so that our battery results are comparable across devices in the most common day-to-day tasks. The battery testing procedure is described in detail in case you’re interested in the nitty-gritty. You can check out our complete battery test table, where you can see how all of the smartphones we’ve tested will compare under your own typical use.
Speakers
The Apple iPhone SE (2020) has two speakers — one dedicated at the bottom and the other one is the earpiece. The bottom one offers more bass than the earpiece, but other than that — their loudness seems balanced enough.
In our new speaker test, the iPhone SE scored a Very Good mark for loudness. As for the quality — it’s also very good. The bass and melodies are great, but the vocals could have been better as they sound suppressed at times.
Use the Playback controls to listen to the phone sample recordings (best use headphones). We measure the average loudness of the speakers in LUFS. A lower absolute value means a louder sound. A look at the frequency response chart will tell you how far off the ideal «0db» flat line is the reproduction of the bass, treble, and mid frequencies. You can add more phones to compare how they differ. The scores and ratings are not comparable with our older loudspeaker test. Learn more about how we test here.
Audio output quality
We’ve recently discontinued our audio output quality test.
The reason for that is that most phones were already excellent in this regard and whatever difference there was, it was marginal and probably indistinguishable to anything but lab equipment.

Apple iPhone SE (2020) — user opinions and reviews
Feroze, 06 Dec 2021 How many applications you are using. Are you using medias such as youtube and using your mobil. more 5hrs of usage is normal. If it’s 5hrs of just keeping it in your pocket not doing anything with it, that is not normal.
Heating issue in normal usage.
Anonymous, 06 Nov 2021 Battery life is excellent on the phone, easily lasts me from 6am till 9pm. How many applications you are using. Are you using medias such as youtube and using your mobile data because my battery hardly stays for 5hrs so need to know if something is wrong.
Anonymous, 02 Dec 2021 Because they’re both compact iPhones? Yes but the specs are diffrent and also the price
The se 2 is great but one thing that Apple should upgrade for the 3rd generation se was the battery life, camera quality and performance!
The 13 Pro’s camera quality were still as good, even at f1.5, this is arguably one of the best camera that you can find in a smartphone!
No need for a professional dslr camera as smartphone cameras are improving so fast, but I’m guessing this due to other folks that were having issues with the camera while some folks never had any issues or complaints with the camera! As it gets better after updates
BEMihai, 23 Nov 2021 Why are you compare those two? Because they’re both compact iPhones?
Akshay, 27 Nov 2021 Anyone update your phone tonios 15.1 ? What are the difference ios 15 & 15.1. should I upd. more What?
I was so ready to buy this phone when it released, the features was great the dimension was awesome, the perfect compact phone but when I saw the battery endurance I was disappointed! So after 6 months I bought the iPhone 12 and since then I think I made the right choice
Anonymous, 20 Nov 2021 12 mini eats this for breakfast. The price of 12 mini can buy 2 piece of SE(2020).
Anyone update your phone tonios 15.1 ? What are the difference ios 15 & 15.1. should I update? Currently Ibam in ios 15.
Anonymous, 20 Nov 2021 12 mini eats this for breakfast. Why are you compare those two?
Everything is perfect for me except the battery life. If only this had 70 hours endurance rating, that would be great. Apple is famous for their innovation, with the same size with iphone 8 but bigger battery that’s too called innovation, but no!! Luckily this is not my daily driver, if it is then i will be doomed.
Good phone would recommend
12 mini eats this for breakfast.
Anonymous, 05 Nov 2021 I’m on android now (galaxy a52) but this phone offers much better specs for a $399 USD st. more Man price is no longer an issue even if this phone is from apple, $199 for the 64GB version NEW, you can get a cheap Xiaomi brick phone for the same money, so you can get whichever meet your needs best.
People, the SE is your last chance to get a top notch light and small flagship grade phone at junk phone prices, next stop is iPhone 12 mini, that is more than $500 for sure.
My screen is making weird short touches on icons at Home Screen. It does not open an app but I saw it happen several times. I hope it is not a ghost screen thing. I have anxiety I can’t deal with ghosts 🙁
The, 06 Nov 2021 I seriously don’t believe the battery life was as bad as people said when this thing laun. more It comes with a slightly better battery life than usual. I simply love the simplicity of SE, the size, the fingerprint reader, the common nice usability of iOS. I am not a Mac lover, but I am so used to iPhone, it gets the job done for me. I waited 4 years to get the 2020, meanwhile, I had 3 SE 1st generation (1 stolen, 1 broke). Bear in mind I am a geek (not a gamer though), I spent 10h a day in front of a screen, coding, troubleshooting, or designing software, so I do not love to spend my free time on another screen, therefore, my companion has to be light, quick, convenient, efficient and fit my pocket. Another thing, I do not like the idea of screen recognition.
Ive been using iPhone since high school but i got to use only iPhone 3gs, iPhone 4s, iphone 5, and last was iphone 5s. I stopped buying iphone since then because it was getting more expensive for a student like me. So I migrate to android which is more affordable with a lot of features. But somehow when Apple released the new Iphone SE 2020, i was so interested. Im no more a student now so I decided to once again buy an iPhone and i bought this SE 2020. I don’t care of what others say about this phone. to be honest, as long as this phone gives me what I need which it does, I don’t mind to have a small screen phone with low battery life. dude, i have a life that I’m not going to spend my time only on the screen. i have a job to do and everything. even my SoT on this phone is 2.30 hours on average. hahahahaha. but i have ever made my record to get 5hrs SoT back when I binge watch some TB series. So folks, buy phone that suits you and not by following on trends. good luck!
The, 06 Nov 2021 I seriously don’t believe the battery life was as bad as people said when this thing laun. more I’m 20 and i bought this not long after the phone is launched at my country(Indonesia). I bought this because i want to try an Apple product and i love the looks of an old iphone(didn’t really like the design of 10 and onwards). Yes i know the battery is really small but i don’t really mind since i’m only using it for less than 6 hours outside my house and the charge the phone when i’m home. The performance is more than enough, i played heavy games like Genshin Impact on medium 60fps and the only issues is the phone is getting really hot after a few gameplay(well since it’s small and doesn’t have a liquid cooled like a poco F series) but i can fix that issue with a cooling fan. For others like multitasking is excellent since the processor is the same as an 11 pro. The camera is not bad even though it’s just the same as an iphone 8. Overall this is good for old people in my opinion because it’s small and easy to use. Well for me? I’m a Bike guy so it’s like im buying a Retro Motorcycle, i want that old looks but has a good performance as other new bikes on the streets and also at a good price. I might change to android again if the newer iphone is still lazy with their design, rather buy a 12 pro than a new 13.
I seriously don’t believe the battery life was as bad as people said when this thing launched, any1 who owns it how much hrs do you get SoT and how old is yours?
