HIKVISION iVMS-4500 is a mobile phone surveillance application just based on iPhone, which supports the full line of Hikvision products, including the DS-7000/8000 series DVRs (dual stream models), DS-7300/8100 series DVRs , DS-9000/9100 series DVRs, DS-6000/6100 series digital video servers, as well as network cameras and speed domes that support standard H.264 video codec.

The key features of HIKVISION iVMS-4500 Mobile Surveillance Application include:
· Real-time video preview of up to 16 channels;
· Swipe for PTZ control and camera movement, pinch to zoom in and out in preview mode;
· Support for preset activation and configuration, as well as calibration for brightness..

Latest update introduces problems

Today’s update adding features for thumbnails etc has introduced a problem. Select all cameras for a site from live view and when video starts they’re all in the wrong order 5,2,4,3,1 when scrolling. Select devices, select device, start live view and they’re in correct order. Deleting/re adding site does not resolve.

Also there is no way of reordering sites / I have around 20. The last site added is always bottom of the camera list and cannot be moved so if you have a problem and have to delete/ re add site it moves down to the bottom. This is a basic feature available in nearly all apps

Brilliant App

As other reviewers have stated, the lower rated reviews are down to improper setup of the Hikvision equipment. I.e not using static IPs for the cameras, not having a decent internet connection with a good upload speed so the live viewing on a remote device is not laggy or impossible or not port forwarding properly which would impact users wanting to use any features of the app or web UI from outside the LAN. No problems with the app at all, cameras can be sometimes a little slow loading live view on 3G/4G depending on the area I’m in but that’s down to my phone signal and the quality I am streaming at and is no reflection of the app whatsoever. But if you are using the app all over the place and often it might be worth considering scaling the quality down slightly which is doable from the app so it will load up every time without fail, even if the signal is a bit iffy where you are. The only thing which I still haven’t worked out on the app, is to be able to play let’s say 2 channels at a time on remote playback syncing the same time and date, rather than having to select the time and date you want to playback for each individual camera.

Easy when set up right

All these 1 star reviews make me laugh.. If you pay a professional installer to set up equipment as it should be then you will have no problems at all! Installed thousands of these in our company and don’t get any complaints about the app! “Can only get it working on WiFi” in other words you haven’t got port forwarding done properly.. “it only worked for a few days” in other words your IP address has changed and you’ve not used a DNS host for your recorder.. “Sometimes only some of the cameras load” in other words you’re either in a poor signal area for your phone or your internet where your recorder is installed isn’t very good! Personally I think it’s a pretty good app.. I have over 40 sites stored on it! Only annoying thing for me is that it keeps the box ticked of the cameras you’ve previously had on when you have so many sites it can be annoying but if you only have one or two sites this is very handy!
