In the great big crowd of social media apps, Instagram continues to stand out for a reason: it makes sharing moments with everyone in your world easy, speedy, and fun. Whether you’re posting breathtaking vacation photos tweaked with one of dozens of cool image filters or a video clip of an insane concert, Instagram’s uncluttered accessibility has kept it at the top of the social-sharing heap.

Updates and performance

I’ve got a couple Instagram accounts, and no two have the same features as the other. It’s incredibly confusing and annoying to switch between two accounts on the same app that don’t even have the same features. One might have a different, newer version of DM’s while another has been stuck with an old version and has never been updated. For the past two months my main account has been action blocked almost every other week. Instagram has made me change my password 8 times within then as well. I rely on posting often to keep my audience and gain new followers (as well as to catch the eyes of potential customers, as I am an artist that makes money off of commissions) and I obviously can’t do this when Instagram blocks me from posting. I don’t share my account with anyone, I’ve never purchased followers, and I’ve never used any third party apps with Instagram. So it’s beyond me why they keep doing this. Not to mention, the support is awful. If you have an issue or if you need help with something, you might as well forget it. The support team is incredibly unhelpful and has always been this way. I’ve seen accounts post highly illegal content that Instagram deems as safe for all ages! Even after reporting. Any legitimate problems I’ve tried to report have been met with silence. The idea of Instagram is great. But the app itself is becoming worse and worse as time goes on.

Easy to use, yet trying to keep up with the competition

Hi there! I just got Instagram a week ago and I will have to say, it is a great way to connect with my friends, see what they are up to and a great source for school clubs and events. However, I have heard news that Instagram is becoming a social media video sharing app instead of focused on the photo aspect. This is highly disappointing because we already have so many different apps that are MEANT for videos. A lot of my friends are artists and photographers who make money through Instagram. This is where they are most likely to switch over to another platform. I completely understand why they are doing this, but that is just gonna tear the app apart. I would like the people of Instagram to reconsider this update that is up and coming soon. Or even ohh right now, who knows. If you want to add more video features, go ahead, but please don’t throw artists, business and photographers down the drain like that. Make sure to give both parties the right amount of attention. Besides that, I absolutely adore Instagram and how much security privacy it goes for private accounts such as my own. Either way, I really hope you see this Instagram and reply. I know a lot people who are considering leaving the app cause of this new update. Thank you so much for your time!
