Library caches com apple and

Question: Q: Clean my mac

I keep getting this message

This item was cleaned partially.

/Users/jim/Library/Caches/com.apple.safaridavclient: “com.apple.safaridavclient” couldn’t be removed because you don’t have permission to access it.

/Users/jim/Library/Caches/com.apple.HomeKit.configurations: “com.apple.HomeKit.configurations” couldn’t be removed because you don’t have permission to access it.

Anyone tell me what that means?

You’re using a product (Clean My Mac) that attempts to fool with some innards of Apple’s data structures (anything contained in the /Users/[Your Name]/Library area).

Using Clean My Mac is not recommended.

As a counterpoint to other comments on this issue, I have been a Mac user since 1990, I use CleanMyMac 3 regularly on several machines including iMac, MacBook Pro, and Mac Mini (all running Mojave). It routinely finds and cleans up unwanted files and other system junk that the «automatic maintenance» somehow misses. It also cleans up unwanted files left over after I delete unwanted programs that don’t have an «uninstall» feature to do that. «Automatic maintenance» won’t catch those.

I have never had any problems with CleanMyMac. Since upgrading to Mojave, I get the identical messages you identify above and just ignore them.

NB I have no association with CleanMyMac other than as a satisfied customer of their product.

Question: Q: CleanMyMac issues — «com.apple.quicklook.ThumbnailsAgent»; «com.apple.aned»

I use CleanMyMac as «cleaner», and since when i updated my Mac to Big Sur, while I want to clean up my Mac system, appear some issues: «com.apple.quicklook.ThumbnailsAgent» or «com.apple.aned» can’t be removed because you don’t have the necessary privilages. These type of issues relate the cache.

Can you help me about that?

Regards from Italy✌️

Uninstall CleanMyMac. It is not needed, uses system resources while providing no benefit, and it may cause problems.

Let the MacOS do its job.

Dec 1, 2020 12:30 PM

macOS is doing its best to protect your Mac from the scam you installed, but its ability to protect Mac users from themselves is limited. Uninstall the «CleanMyMac» product in strict accordance with its instructions. Rule 1 of Macs is don’t install junk.

I’ve had Clean my Mac for years with no problems. and just had this same problem today, just 24 days after this guy posted his request for help. Now could you just explain WHY the culprit is Clean My Mac when I’ve never had this problem EVER for as long as I’ve had this app??

I ask bcuz just telling someone to do something without explaining WHY you should do it for that particular problem is basically the same as a diabetic asking for help when they’re blood sugar is low and you responding with «well if you would’ve eaten, you wouldn’t be having this problem.»

If you’re going to help someone, HELP THEM WITHOUT CRITICIZING THEM. You accuse Clean My Mac of being a «scam» without any evidence to prove it.

I’m just saying. IF THIS IS TRUE, state your case thoroughly, bcuz why should we just assume you’re right, take your word for it when your unexplained suggestion could make problems worse? Make sense?

Dec 25, 2020 11:23 AM

I would like to know what someone comes up with too. I wonder if you can go into the finder and just delete those files and let the MAC refresh them like it does with plist files??

Dec 25, 2020 11:24 AM

I uninstalled it but I cannot delete this folder, which I moved to my desktop, what to do?

Jan 14, 2021 11:21 AM

i ve got the same problem !

Try to notice if your Mac is slower to boot the system ,

let’s find the way to delete this guys C’mon.

I managed to remove it.

Move the entire folder and its contents to the «moved elements» folder.

Restart your mac

Delete this «moved elements» folder and voila.

Mr Galt is wrong. My dad has a 2012 iMac. He’s not a tech savvy, so he’s not the guy doing clean updates and so on (so please do not put that excuse). In 2019, he was concerned because he had filled the entire 1 Tb HDD but he didn’t have that many personal files to fill that capacity. His files could represent around 200Gb but nothing more. I installed a cleaner and the software deleted 700Gb in junk files. 700GB. (by the way the trash was empty before the operation of course). So, Macintosh either needs clean updates regularly or cleaning software for those average consumers who don’t have the knowledge to format the hard drive.

By the way, I have used CleanMyMac for three years now and it’s just fine. I have deactivated the health monitor so the software’s deamons don’t activate alone. I’m having the same issue with Big Sur.

DO NOT USE CLEANMYMAC. They can delete useful files. It can brick your system. Instead, to clear up your storage, you can empty caches. On safari, enable the develop tab and select (empty caches). Then head on to Finder and press shift-command-g. Type in

/Library/Caches/. Then delete them all. This will save a lot of data.

To uninstall CleanMyMac, just use their own uninstaller tool.

Feb 15, 2021 3:19 PM

CleanMyMac can sometimes delete useful files. One time, I used cleanmymac to «clean» a mac so I can help someone update to Big Sur.

It just caused a big mess.

Please be more precise and come to help me please;

I’m not that monster with those kind of fixing stuff ,

Question: Q: The folder “com.apple.aned” can’t be opened because you don’t have permission to see its contents.

Hi I came across a file in my cache folder that’s has been giving me problem to delete. The file name is com.apple.aned which I can’t explain where it came from. Did research about it to no avail.

I have an Imac 27″ 2019 running on Big Sur OS

I did some necessary steps:

Using terminal sudo rf

Dragging to trash

Renaming it (it can’t be renamed)

Читайте также:  Small green and red apple

Copying and pasting to other location (pop up error still no permission error)

Cache folder where it is in has the permission to read/write.

Been frustrated for quite awhile. Checking the file it is registering zero bytes but through getting info it says calculating eternally to no avail.

Posting photos with the thread. I really appreciate who can help me.

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

We understand that you are unable to delete the file «com.apple.aned». You have done some good troubleshooting to resolve this without success. At this point, we would recommend you contact Apple Support directly for more specific assistance for the issue.

Dec 13, 2020 10:11 AM

I had the same problem and it is worse, it becomes a question of ownership, Apple clearly doesn’t want users to be owners. If you cannot execute a SUDO command, Apple takes ownership of your device.

I’ve got the some problem;

Had u find the way to sort it out ?

Or , can u at least explain me better what the other guy on the replies it wa trying to say ?

It is a serious problem .

Thanks for your efforts .. I wish an amazing time ;

I left the folder for now. As a next step I am thinking of installing Linux, I don’t like how I have no control over my own device.

Jan 10, 2021 8:00 AM

I’ve stumbled on the same issue on several Macs when I tried to clean up a bit by deleting cache folders.

The com.apple.aned directory (it’s actually a folder, not a file) seems to be utterly undeletable, as even the root user get a permission error when trying.

The only way I found to get rid of it is to boot the Mac in recovery mode (cmd-R) and then use the terminal to delete it (using rm). I guess it would also work in target disk mode or booting from an external drive.

I did not notice any adverse effect after deletion; everything seems to work as normal. I can’t exclude that something got broken, though, maybe I just didn’t notice yet.

Question: Q: Library/Chaches/com.apple.bird is bigger then 45GB

my Library/Chaches/com.apple.bird Folder is bigger then 45GB. Can I delete them? Or are there any solutions to fix that amount of chache data? I have only 256GB storage on my MacBook Air.

MacBook Air (13-inch Mid 2012), OS X Yosemite (10.10.2)

Please back up all data, then open the iCloud pane in System Preferences. If the box marked iCloud Drive is checked, uncheck it and confirm. Your iCloud documents should be preserved on Apple’s servers.

Test to see whether there’s an improvement, then re-check the box and test again. It may take a noticeable amount of time for your iCloud Drive documents to resynchronize.

The real reason that folders grows so much it’s Whatsapp iCloud backup. It basically saves the backup over and over multiple times, and makes it grow a lot. Deactivate it, and you’ll see the folder won’t grow anymore.

Mar 23, 2015 3:35 AM

Check this thread. whatsapp is messing things up with iCloud backup. large com.apple.bird directory

May 12, 2015 8:25 PM

Thanks.. This worked!

Aug 18, 2015 3:04 AM

This solved it instantly, I just double clicked the check box for iCloud drive!

May 2, 2016 2:15 AM

Thanks Linc! My Library/Caches/com.apple.bird folder was over 100 GB, littered with WhatsApp backup nonsense. Toggling the iCloud Drive cleared things up.

Oct 11, 2016 8:51 PM

I too noticed a large com.apple.bird file in the cache folder, tens of gigabytes.

Unchecking and checking iCloud preference did indeed reduced its size to less than 200Mb.

However after iCloud had finished downloading iCloud documents to my Mac, available disk space had been reduced by an amount approximately equal to the total size of documents.

Whereas that may make some sense, the available disk space was higher prior to unchecking and checking iCloud preference.

I was wondering whether an image or invisible copy of the downloaded documents resides somewhere in the system?

I have found the iCloud (archive) which is created after unchecking iCloud preference, and deleted it though it was not the culprit.

Что такое com.apple.coresymbolicationd в кэшах?

Time Machine.
