I have a QM8888 and an Audi Q8. Firmwares from 2021-07-15 to 2021-08-05 work with an error: «The application» com.suding.apkinstaller «crashed.» Supposed cause: «VIDEO DEFINITION» setting.

In reality, only the firmware works: 2021-06-04 — no stuttering in telephony (BtPhone), the video does not freeze, the voice assistant works in Yandex navigator and navigation does not turn off the car radio.

There is only one problem: Simultaneous voice prompts Yandex navigator + program for determining speed cameras turn off the radio. The radio is not paused — in the MIB 2 of the Audi Q8, the playback source is turned off (the sound system is not available). It is necessary to select a source in the main AUDI menu — radio, television, or multimedia.

Can I fix firmware 2021-06-04?

Who cares: the QM8888 firmware from 06/04/2021 to 06/26/2021 is 99% the same, but voice assistants in browsers work better in 2021.06.04.

Question: There is a SpeedPlay program — this is CarPlay for an iPhone with qm8888 (telephony is better than btPhone). With such a connection, disabling wi-fi and turning on the access point (wi-fi modem in qm8888) interferes. I want to continue to use the Audi Wi-Fi hotspot or Internet sharing (via USB) while running SpedPlay. Is it possible?

I was able to download apk from some other sites and app seems to be working fine, except that the import functionality does not work. At times it crashes or starts a fresh wallpaper. The file explorer pop up does not come to select the file to import.

Any help with this would be great.

I was able to take care of that after installing File Manager + . seems like application required to access storage is not available.

To upgrade I needed to access the SD Card but File manager was not able to get write permissions on SD Card. Everytime I tried to put the file on the SD Card, it prompts to gain write permission by going to menu and selecting SD Card. Whenever you try that, there is toast message saying ‘Application not found’.

I managed to put the upgrade zip using the computer and upgraded to Aug 05 release (UX999). Still the same issue with the upgrade. Will try to do a factory reset and reboot to see if that helps.

On my steering wheel I have volume buttons, next track,previous track and start/pause button, problem is when song is playing and i press start/pause button to stop the song if i press it again to resume , it wont resume, this funcion works well when i connect my phone via android auto, but when i connect box, it doesnt work.

2.When i connect my phone via android auto, i can connect it also to my car via bluetooth and use steering wheel controls to call/hang up or acess call list on my dashboard, but when i connect it to box i dont have that function any more, so i have to call/hang up only by pressing touch pad. Is there any fix for this?

3. How can i check latest firmware of my device ?

Update procedure is mostly the same on all boxes:

NOTE: (do not power off the MMB box during the upgrade process)

1. Preparation：
2. Unpack the downloaded zip and place the unpacked Update.zip into the root of a sd card/usb drive
3. Rename the OTA upgrade file to update.zip or upgrade_pkg.zip (for CP600);
4. After the MMB system detects the upgrade package, the screen will show a screen to upgrade. According to the point, select [Upgrade Now]
5. The system will automatically copy the OTA upgrade file to the MMB box
6. After the copy is completed, the system will restart and install (MMB box indicator light effect: red flashing)
7. After installation is complete, the program will be loaded (MMB box indicator light effect: blue flashing)
8. After the start up is complete, you will enter the main interface of the MMB box (MMB box indicator light effect: blue)

If you want to completly factoryreset a device you can try the following PINs:

If you encounter any problems please contact your seller and tell them your head unit (version).
Not all car manufactures have implemented the carplay service correctly, so consider also updating your head unit on next service or contact you dealer for it.

can I get the steps again on how to apply the firmware update on the Qm8888 apple pie box?

I tried the general steps at the start of this thread but my qm8888 just boots up as per normal

Obtain the firmware upgrade package, the file named «update.zip», the file size is about 1.35G, copy update.zip to the TF card (directly in the root directory, no need to build a folder), no need to decompress, Then insert the upgrade card. The upgrade card does not have to be a blank card, and it does not have to be an upgrade file, that is, the TF card you use every day can be used as an upgrade card.

The system detects that there is an upgrade file in the card, a pop-up window will ask whether to upgrade, immediately (within 20 seconds) click the «Cancel» button to cancel the upgrade operation, please pull out the upgrade card; if you click «OK» or do nothing ( Wait 20 seconds for the timeout», the system will enter the upgrade operation.

First, copy the upgrade file to the internal storage space. The copy progress will go from 0% to 100%. After the copy is completed, the system will pop up a window prompting that it will automatically restart. At this point, you can observe the red indicator light of the box. When it starts to flash, you can already pull out the upgrade card. The remaining steps will be completed automatically. You just need to wait to enter the ApplePie interface again.

The entire upgrade process takes about 10 minutes.

Note: It is best not to power off during the upgrade process, and do not pull out the TF card during the process of copying the upgrade file to the internal memory. Of course, if the above situation occurs, ApplePie will not be damaged, and it will work normally after restarting. It’s just that your upgrade process was cancelled this time, and the normal upgrade cannot be completed.
