Are you planning an Android widget for rapid capture? I’d like to have a simple widget where I could just quick type (or better, quick dictate using ‘speech to text’) anything, and have this task automatically captured on Skedpal’s inbox.

In the meanwhile, what are you using for quick capture?

Thanks for the suggestion. For now, the best option is Evernote that has strong capturing functions and integrates with SkedPal.

I use a mixture of Tasker for Android and Integromat. I set up a web hook in Integromat where I can send HTTP calls to which contain a JSON structure with some task data:

Then I combined the webhook with an email send operation which sends an email using the data from the webhook to my SkedPal email address.

This way whenever something is posted on the Webhook via HTTP I get a new task in SkedPal (see the section “Capturing by email” on this help page https://www.skedpal.com/knowledge-base/adding-tasks-sub-tasks/). It’s a bit convoluted, but in the absence of a proper API this at least allows me to add a task using a simple HTTP call which almost all automation solutions can do.

Now with the WebHook in place, let’s go to the Android side of things. The automation tool of choice there is “Tasker” which can automate just about everything. So with Tasker you can create an action that does a HTTP call and calls your Web hook to set up a new task. Now you just need to trigger that task somehow.

Tasker allows you to add widgets which execute actions if you click on them. So I have created a few actions for common tasks that occur outside of a regular schedule (e.g. do the laundry) and added them to a tasker widget. So when I click that widget a task with one of these preset texts will appear in SkedPal.

For your requirements, I would suggest to have a look at AutoVoice, which has a plugin for Tasker. Then create a task using the “AutoVoice Recognize” action. This will start a voice recognition screen where you can speak your tasks title. It will save the recognized text to the “%avcomm” variable. Now you can add a section action which does the HTTP call to the webhook. Give it these arguments:

Finally you could add a “Flash” action to show some message that the task has been successfully sent. I like it that way so I don’t need to guess if it worked.

You can now bind this task to a Tasker widget, et voila there is your quick capture using voice recognition.

On a related note, it’s really amazing how much you can do with free services on the web these days and how many moving parts a solution like the above involves. Just compare:

4. Tasker sends audio to google for voice recognition.
5. Google sends back recognized text.
6. Tasker sends recognized text plus instructions to Integromat.
7. Integromat converts incoming text into Mail message.
8. Integromat contacts GMail and asks to send message to SkedPal mail server
9. GMail sends mail to SkedPal mail server.
10. SkedPal mail server receives mail.
11. SkedPal service reads email converts it to task and stores it in SkedPal server’s data base.
12. SkedPal client on phone synchronizes with SkedPal server and receives new task.

Result: Task is in your Todo-list.

@derkork, that’s an amazing automation workflow. Thanks for sharing it. It’s probably too technical for most people but it’s definitely good advice for technical gurus to setup their automation.

I vote for a widget I can put on the home screen that lets me easily capture tasks. That’s very useful to me. Currently I use Google Keep for quick capture and move them manually.

I’d also like one that summarizes my tasks for the day and lets me check them off without opening the full app.

Basically I use a IFTTT widget on my phone which quickly send an email to my skedpal account (inbox)

So easy, no hard coding required

I have IFTTT connected installed in my phone. How do you create an “inbox capturing” widget?

The widget I use is “Quickly email yourself a note” on IFTTT

Then, I add the widget on my home screen on my phone.

So basically, one touch to open de IFTTT widget, then I write the task/reminder, then i press send and it send it to my dedicated skedpal email

A time estimate for the capture is provided when you submit the details of your property. Capturing a space depends on the size and complexity of the property. For example, furnished properties take longer to scan than vacant properties, and the smaller the space, the faster the capture.

CaptureService — что это за служба в Windows 10?

Приветствую друзья! Откуда берутся новые службы? Они могут появиться после установки некоторого софта, а также если вы обновили Windows до нового билда.

CaptureService — что это такое?

Служба записи OneCore, скорее всего нужна для функции TimeLine. OneCore это вроде просто значит концепцию одного ядра для разных устройств, такое Microsoft придумала еще в 2015-ом году.

Timeline — функция временной шкалы, которая позволяет просматривать историю взаимодействия с Windows и быстро возвращаться к предыдущим задачам. То есть это что-то вроде истории действий, где можно посмотреть список недавно используемых приложений, документов, просмотренных изображений, сайтов:

Справа идет ползунок, при помощи которого можно прокручивать историю. Поиск тоже присутствует.

Это как в Хроме можно посмотреть историю посещенных сайтов, так и здесь, только в Windows — это не сайты, а вообще все действия, например забыли каким приложением пользовались десять минут назад? Ничего, функция Timeline вам подскажет. Как понимаю, все работает примерно так.

Вообще если разобрать название службы, то:

• Capture — означает захватывать, записывать, может как раз и имеется ввиду записывать какие действия выполнял пользователь.
• Service — просто означает сервис, служба.

CaptureService работает под процессом svchost.exe, который запускается из системной папки с таким параметром:

%WinDir%\system32\svchost.exe -k LocalService -p

В своей работе использует также библиотеку:

• Также нашел информацию о процессе с таким же названием — captureservice.exe, который может идти от софта eQuality, разработчик которого — Witness Systems, Inc.
• Просто на заметку — троян Trojan.Inject3.21643 создает папку с названием captureservice в %AppData%.

CaptureService — как отключить?

Четкой информации о том нужна ли эта служба — нет. Поэтому если будете отключать, то на свой страх и риск, а лучше заранее создать точку восстановления.

Важно: кроме обычной службы CaptureService, у вас еще может быть клон, в названии которого в конце идет приставка _xxxxx (там набор разных символов).

Сперва я покажу универсальный способ отключения через реестр, потому что штатный способ отключения может быть заблокирован. Итак:

1. Открываем реестр. Нужно зажать Win + R, написать команду regedit, нажать ОК.
2. Откроется редактор реестра. Слева будут разделы, справа — параметры (ключи).
3. Теперь переходим в такой раздел: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\
4. Внутри раздела Services находим раздел службы — он имеет такое же название, как и сама служба, то есть CaptureService. Внутри этого раздела будет параметр Start, нажимаем по нему два раза и выставляем значение 4 (Отключено). Кстати вроде бы если раздел удалить, то вы этим и службу удалите полностью, если захотите так сделать, то точка восстановления — обязательна!
5. Делаем перезагрузку, после которой служба CaptureService уже не должна работать. Разумеется что и функция временной шкалы Timeline — тоже может не работать.
