Моя первая Souls-like игра. Обзор Salt and Sanctuary

В 2016 году, от Ska Studios, вышла 2D игра, которая сильно вдохновлялась сериями Souls и Castelvania, Salt and Sanctuary. Игры от Ska Studious отличаются крайне своеобразным стилем, и динамичностью, однако слабы в плане баланса.

История

Действие начинается на корабле. Вы сопровождаете принцессу, которую должны выдать замуж, чтобы остановить многолетнюю войну. Конечно же дела идут не по плану, корабль атакуют разбойники, а в довесок еще и ктулхуподобная тварь, после битвы с которой мы оказываемся за бортом. Приходим в себя мы на острове, совершенно одни. Теперь у нас лишь одна цель: найти принцессу!

Почему не начать сразу с серии Souls?

Можно назвать несколько причин. Для начала, Souls знамениты своей сложностью, а многие предпочитают смотреть, как другие умирают, а не умирать самим. Еще они весьма продолжительны, и Dark Souls вышло уже три части, что может негативно повлиять на тех, кто, если начинает с первой части, уже не остановится, пока не пройдет их все.

Лично я не люблю игры, в которых все совсем уж плохо и депрессивно, а Bloodborne на ПК так и не вышел. Именно поэтому я выбрал темную лошадку: Salt and Sanctuary. Кроме того, там можно играть за человека-ящера, что дает этой игре преимущество с самого старта.

Общее с Dark Souls

Salt and Sanctuary скопировала многие элементы из Dark Souls, такие как:

• Зачаровывание оружия
• Усиление оружия при помощи солей и материалов
• Мимики
• Открытие обходных путей
• Контейнеры с солями (душами)
• Выносливость, без которой ты не можешь нормально атаковать, двигаться и защищаться
• Историю можно узнать из описания предметов, умений, и разговора с NPC
• Враги, которые возрождаются после посещения «костра»
• Записи от других игроков, которые либо помогают, либо обрекают на гибель

Различия

Не считая того, что это 2D игра, и своеобразного стиля, у Salt and Sanctuary есть следующие особенности.

Отсутствие стен из тумана

В этой игре ничто не отделяет вас от боссов. Во время исследования карты на них очень легко наткнуться. И если все зелья лечения использованы, то он сделает из солерожденного котлету.

Превосходная мобильность

В Salt and Sanctuary есть элементы метроидвании. На некоторых участках игры будут попадаться персонажи, которые могут поставить нам клеймо на руку. Благодаря этому можно переворачивать локацию с ног на голову, прыгать по стенам, совершать рывки в воздухе, и материализовывать платформы при помощи факела. Эти способности позволят вернуться на предыдущие локации, чтобы добраться до прежде недоступных закоулков.

Личные святилища

В Salt and Sanctuary можно обустроить собственный Храм Огня в любой локации. В святилище можно пожертвовать каменную статуэтку, что призовет туда соответствующего ремесленника, вроде кузница, торговца или алхимика. Кроме своей непосредственной пользы, они дают пассивный бонус на всю локацию. Но ремесленника надо выбирать с умом, потому что нельзя призвать более четырех разных типов на одну локацию. Также, если вы присягнули на верность определенной фракции, это повлияет на внешний вид святилища, эффекты от зелий, а также товары, которые можно купить у торговцев.

Нечестные враги

В Dark Souls, враги атакуют в определенном ритме. Со временем их движения можно выучить, и действовать в соответствии с ними. В Salt and Sanctuary, враги подчиняются лишь одному правилу: ваше полное уничтожение. Они могут не переставать атаковать, пока у вас не закончится выносливость для защиты. Или забрасывать своими способностями. А еще там есть перемещающиеся скелеты, которые могут сколько угодно прыгать в пространстве, пока не окажутся у вас за спиной, готовые атаковать.

Очень плохой баланс

В игре обширная коллекция самого разнообразного оружия, однако полезного из них единицы. Я попытался прокачать владение кнутами, однако со временем они стали весьма бесполезными. Использование тяжелой брони дает гораздо больше минусов, чем плюсов (бонус к броне слишком незначительный, чтобы променять его на мобильность в платформере). А хорошо прокачанный щит делает героя практически невосприимчивым к физическому урону.

Древо навыков

Замена стандартного улучшения характеристик. В числе прочего позволяет открывать способности других классов, улучшает уровень владения определенным оружием, и увеличивает количество зелий.

Заключение

Ska Studios проделали впечатляющую работу. В Salt and Sanctuary нас ждет массивный мир, с проработанной историей, и интересными персонажами. Этот Souls-like собрал в себе массу элементов и жанров, большинство из которых работает. В достаточной степени, чтобы получать удовольствие от игры.
