Существительное может быть исчисляемым или неисчисляемым:
Banana – исчисляемое существительное.
Rice – неисчисляемое существительное.
Исчисляемое существительное может быть в единственном (banana) или множественном (bananas) числе.
У неисчисляемого существительного есть только одна форма (rice).
С исчисляемыми существительными мы можем использовать числа. Т.е. мы можем сказать ‘one banana’, ‘two bananas’ и т.д.
С неисчисляемыми существительными мы не можем использовать числа. Мы не можем сказать ‘one rice’, ‘two rices’ и т.п.
