.sb3 Files Don’t Work, Please Fix The Bug
Serious bug with saving changes to projects
The first time you save a project to disk it works fine, however if you make any updates and try to save the changes it will not save to the original file. It will ask you if you want to overwrite the existing file but won’t actually do it. The date-modified timestamp of the project file doesn’t change any any updates are lost.
Great job
I really like this because It works well anytime I try to save a project I just download it to my computer and upload to scratch when I want to publish it

Question: Q: Scratch on Macbook Pro 13 , on the back cover
I just got my Macbook Pro 13inch for a week . This morning, while Im cleaning I remove my laptop to my desk. On the desk , there was a bobibine. I wasn’t aware. So , I put my laptop on it. As result, I got few scratches on the back cover. Tomorrow, I’ll have an appointment with apple store. Can they remove it the scratch or try to hide it ? I bought at Best Buy, online. I have 1 month of return policy. I am asking can I return it ?
Im sure Im not the only one who got scratch. Did apple store fix yours. Their services were bad or good ? Thanks 😀

The days of «fixing» things on laptops or computers in general ended a very long time ago.
When they evaluate it, the cost will be for replacing the entire cover of the monitor.
Is it a deep scratch? Are you willing just to live with it as a personality mark?
Removing scratches on matte finish aluminum is very very hard , and I have a lot of experience with same.
You have to buff out the scratch, which leaves a BIG shiny spot, which you then have to dull down to matte to match, then you have to blend it.
So, I should say removing the scratch is easy, . making it match and dulling it down and blending it is the very hard part. 😊
Apple removes part A, replaces with new part B, and either recycles the part or sends it out for reconditioning by a third party. All computer companies work this way now.
Let Apple evaluate it as you wish, but accidents aren’t covered under warranty.
Apple service is #1. but there is nobody in the back room that will do buffing and grinding and using polishing compound paste to blend scratches on matte aluminum. 😐

Question: Q: Strange scratches on Macbook Pro screen (black frame)
Hello! Does anyone had this kind of issue? It started with a small «scratch» and then is becoming worse each day.
These scratches are all around the black frame, the screen is perfect.
I never used any product on the screen, only the cleaning cloth who came with the macbook.

Hi, i have EXACTLY the same problem. What is worse, these glitches-scratches started to appear not only on the black frame, but also inside the screen. But the top is the worst. Right above the camera.
Do you have any new information about this problem?
Because my monitor looks almost exactly the same as the photo above.

There’s a bunch of people with the same issue. The solution? You must to bring your lovely macbook to a Apple Store and replace that.
It’s covered by the regular warranty and also Apple Care.

same issue here since few days, right around the camera ! I will call Apple today.

Same problem here. My lovely, beautiful MacBook Pro suddenly has these same ‘scratches’ or smudges on the black frame. In the exact same spot, too. I can’t really tell if this is the coating coming off or something that’s happening behind the glass of my screen. How much time would it take to fix this? Does Apple replace the complete screen? I really can’t miss my MBP right now, because I’m writing my Master’s thesis. And I’m guessing this would be done for free by Apple, am I right?

I have the same problem and the computer’s only eight months old!
Mar 31, 2015 7:24 AM
Mine is only five months old.. It feels pretty bad to look at your expensive friend and see those imperfections, doesn’t it?

I had the same problem, so I took it to Apple (the mac is about 11 months old). They replaced my display (which took 3 days — including the weekend) and now it’s like new. 🙂 I was told that the problem is that I was using a spray to clean it. The spray that I used was bought from Apple (so that i can be sure that it won’t harm it), but turned out that it’s not a guarantee. So, I was advised to just use the cleaning cloth that comes with the mac (with no sprays at all) from now on. Hope that helps.

Question: Q: Macbook Pro Scratches!
Hi guys, didnt really know were to post this but here goes.
I scratched my macbook pro on the plastic to the side of the trackpad. I have a hairline scratch and a long scuff. Not that noticeable, unless you look. But i would like to know is there anything i can do about this, any way i can get it sorted myself? if not what could apple do?

Since this is a user to user forum we can only guess Apple’s policy based on reading the warranty, and our knowledge of warranties. Warranties typically only cover manufacturer defects. I don’t think an aesthetic issue such as a scratch is going to go over well as an asked for repair under warranty. Be more careful if you want something as aesthetically pleasing as smooth metal.
It shouldn’t affect the functionality of the machine itself.
You can certainly try to get Apple to repair it, but no one here except Apple would be able to tell you what the final verdict will be. Please read the Terms of Use.

thanks for the replies. Im guessing i could get it repaired myself but this wud cost around 100 for the plastic to be replaced.

This wont cure the scrathes you already have but may help prevent others
I fitted these a few weeks ago to my new MBP as I thought the large areas would be prone to scuffing as on my previous laptop. So far they have kept their look well and dont look out of place.

Macbook Pro 2016 15″ — Keyboard scratches display

I was just wondering If someone else encountered the same issues that I found recently. I have been using my MBP for about a month now, carried it with me in a laptop bag and used it in a normal environment under normal conditions. Still, I looked at the display a little bit more in detail today and found several small but definitely visible and noticeable scratches along very straight lines all over the display. The straightness of these scratches can only imply that this comes from the keyboard, or maybe from small dirt particles resting on it.
I actually was kinda shocked that the display of the MPB is that sensible towards dust or the keyboard itself and immediately bought and applied a screen protection, which, of course, looks ridiculous.
Did anyone of you have the same problem, or is my display not properly aligned?
Unfortunately I can not provide any photos since the protective cover is already attached and overlays the scratches.

^ This. The keyboard leaving marks on your screen is not specific to the 2016 models. This has been an issue on the older MBPs as well. It seems that this happens when people throw their MBP in a bag with other crap that puts excessive pressure on the top lid of the computer.
I travel with my MBP often but always put it in it’s own travel bag with a couple of cables but nothing that puts pressure on the screen. I have never had any screen scratching issues with my 2013 MBP, 2015 MBP or current 2016 MBP.

I was cleaning my screen today and noticed some little scratches. Clearly not from the keyboard because they aren’t straight, but it does appear that the screen scratches easily. I’ve cleaned all my MacBook screens in the same way with microfibre cloths for years and haven’t noticed any scratches until now.
Annoying, though unnoticeable during normal use. (Note the photo is with flash enabled and so is not indicative of how it looks in normal light.)

Hi,
Yes definitely there is a problem with the new macbook pro i have a single hair line print on my macbook pro 2016 13″ module. I have changed the whole display 2 times and still i am getting the line.
I went to the apple authorised care centre and one of the technician even said that its because of some pressure of some heavy press on my lid that is so unreal because i don’t carry my macbook pro anywhere it’s just home use.
i have changed for 2 time and now it’s same they don’t replace the whole laptop and i am tried of visiting them again and again leaving my laptop to them for the repair.
Worst decision of my life that i moved from Linux to Mac.

AFAIK the rMBPs have a coating on them. I imagine the scratches will be in that, since obviously a coating is not as robust as the glass it’s sitting on. It’s called a «microscratch» and is a developed imperfection in the coating not a scratch to the screen itself. The way to tell is if you can’t really see it if the screen is on and only spot it if you’re looking at various angles in bright daylight (i.e. only if you’re looking for it) then it’s a microscratch.
Phones and tablets suffer from this a lot, no matter how careful you are with them — your fingernails can scratch it, the insides of your pocket can, everything. It’s best not to worry yourself over it, since they’re only visible when you’re purposely looking for flaws.
For phones I use a tempered glass screen protector (mostly so I can say it’s immaculate when it comes to eBay time and not worry about trying to explain microscratches in the description in case I get a fussy buyer, as this confuses people and they avoid bidding), not sure I’d trust a giant 15″ one not to pull the coating off when it’s removed though!

I know of two people who have run into having keyboard marks on their screens when there was no question of the issue being caused by pressure on the lid. Apple did replace the screens but offered no insight as to what had happened.
My guess is that there are two possibilities. One is that residual heat from the keyboard hastens screen delamination. The second is that off-gassing of the acidic oils that everyone’s fingers secrete is etching the surface coating of the screen with no direct contact between the keys and screen needed for the damage to occur. Heat would make that problem worse as well.
Both of these people have had success in preventing the problem by waiting until their MBPs cool down before closing the lid and by using microfiber keyboard covers. However, there is a chance that the microfiber can absorb a sufficient amount of skin oil to transfer to the screen although neither have run into this problem. Also, they have mentioned that their MBPs close slightly less tightly but neither have run into that causing any hinge issues.
I use a clear keyboard protector when using my 2015 MBP which I remove before closing it after it is cool. My screen is pristine. However, most fast typists who need to do a lot of typing without benefit of an external keyboard understandably don’t find keyboard protectors to generally be a good solution.
