Как сделать Яндекс Браузер, Google Chrome или другой браузером по умолчанию на iPhone

Для того, чтобы выполнить описываемые далее действия по изменению браузера по умолчанию, нужный браузер уже должен быть установлен на вашем iPhone. Если это не так — скачайте и установите его из App Store.

Внимание: если вы хотите установить Яндекс Браузер в качестве браузера по умолчанию, учитывайте, что есть приложение «Яндекс», которое может работать как браузер, но браузером не является (и установить его по умолчанию нельзя) и есть Яндекс.Браузер (на экране iPhone отображается как Yandex с буквой Y на значке) — его вам можете использовать по умолчанию.

1. Зайдите в Настройки и пролистайте страницу настроек вниз, найдите пункт с названием нужного браузера, нажмите по нему.
2. Нажмите по пункту «Приложение браузера по умолчанию».
3. Выберите нужный вам браузер.

На этом всё готово: теперь сайты и ссылки в мессенджерах и других источниках будут открываться именно в выбранном вами браузере по умолчанию.

Если в дальнейшем вы решите вернуть всё в исходное состояние, то либо проделайте те же действия, что были описаны выше, но выберите браузер Safari на 3-м шаге, либо удалите все сторонние браузеры с iPhone.

Начиная с iOS 14, а 6-й до нее уже не обновляется, да (у самого такой лежит).

With iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 and later, you can change which app opens when you click a website link or an email address as long as the app supports it.

Before you begin

• Make sure that you have iOS 14 or iPadOS 14 or later, and that you have the app properly installed on your device.
• Make sure that the web browser app or email app supports this feature. If you aren’t sure, contact the app developer.

How to change your default web browser or email app

1. Go to Settings and scroll down until you find the browser app or the email app.
2. Tap the app, then tap Default Browser App or Default Mail App.
   
3. Select a web browser or email app to set it as the default. A checkmark appears to confirm it’s the default.

If you don’t see the option to set a web browser or email app as your default, the developer might not support it. Contact the app developer to learn more.

If you delete a web browser app, your device will set Safari as the default browser app. If you delete the Safari app, your device will set one of your other web browser apps as the default. To use the Safari app again, you’ll need to reinstall it on your device.

If you delete an email app, your device will set the Mail app as the default. If you delete the Mail app, your device will set one of your other email apps as the default. To use the Mail app again, you’ll need to re-install it on your device.

How to change your iPhone’s default browser, and why you might want to

Your iPhone’s browser doesn’t need to be set in stone.

It was only in Sept. 2020 that Apple released iOS 14, and with it the ability to set a custom default browser on your iPhone. The change was a small but meaningful one, as it gave users the option to essentially never use Safari again.

Because while Safari works fine, and has some decent anti-tracking tech built in, other iPhone-compatible browsers are no slouch. Take, for example, DuckDuckGo. The privacy-focused search engine makes an iPhone browser app that «automatically [blocks] hidden third-party trackers» and «[forces] sites to use an encrypted (HTTPS) connection where available[.]»

Sure, you don’t need to set a new browser as your default in order to use it, but if you download another browser on your smartphone it’s probably because you want to use that browser. It’s not like you need to delete Safari or anything. Instead, set it aside for a while and get a taste of what else is out there.

Here’s how to change your default browser on an iPhone:

Download your new preferred browser from the App Store

Go to Settings > Safari > Default Browser App

Select your new browser of choice

That’s it. It’s that easy.
