Introduction: Sonic the Hedgehog 1&2 Debug Mode (IOS/Android)

hey guys in this instructable im going to show you how to unlock debug mode in sonic the hedgehog 1&2 on your IOS or android device using the level select
feature

all you will need is and IOS or android device with either Sonic 1 or 2 installed onto it

Step 1: Accessing Level Select

first of for this code to work you need to enable level select by starting the game, select no save game then choose a character. Once you have done that start the game and when the SEGA logo appears tape the letters S-E-G-A in order until you hear the ring chime, once you have done that press and hold with two fingers on the bottom half of the screen until the intro has played then the level select should appear

Step 2: Activating Debug Mode Using Sound Check

once the level select page has appeared scroll down to sound check and play these songs in order: 01,09,09,01,00,06,02,03 (Sonic 1) or 01,09,09,02,01,01,02,04 (Sonic 2) the ring noise should then play again,once you hear the ring sound scroll up and choose a level and it will take you straight to that level.

Step 3: Using Debug Mode

to use debug mode once you have selected a level tap the top left hand corner where the time, ring, and score counter is displayed this will then change your character into a ring, to search through all available objects tap the plus and minis icon at the top of the screen and to place the object tap jump and the object will appear on the level.

Step 4: Exiting Debug

to swap back to player mode just tap the top left hand corner again to play the level

and thats about it I hope you like this secret mode.

level select never showed

You have to tap the screen when sonic and tails show up with 2 fingers and hold. If it does not work then try again and again until you are on level select. That’s what I did and it worked.

sure, sorry if the instructions weren’t clear enough.

it only works on no save mode

when the SEGA logo appears on either game when you start a no save game tap
S-E-G-A in order and you should here the ring chine sound effect after that hold down on the bottom half of the screen with two finger until the title screen animation has finished and the level select menu should appear and then just use the code I gave in the instructable for the specific game in the sound check and you should hear the ring chime again, then select a level play and then tap the scoreboard on the top left hand corner and the debug controls should appear and sonic will turn into a ring.

Debug Mode (рус. Режим отладки) — недокументированная возможность, частая спутница почти всех ранних игр франшизы Sonic the Hedgehog. Режим предназначался для тестирования зон в ходе разработки и поиска ошибок и неисправностей спрайтов, объектов или систем коллизий. Присутствует в финальных версиях игр StH , StH2 , StH3 / S&K и SCD , а также в Sonic Mania, уже, правда, как «пасхалка».

Классический Debug Mode

В этом разделе рассматривается версия режима отладки для Sonic the Hedgehog (16-бит), которая затем без особых изменений перекочевала во все последующие игры основной серии вплоть до Sonic & Knuckles.

Способы активации

Сделать это нужно максимально быстро, вовремя поймав момент, иначе игра попросту не примет команды игрока, потому что из-за довольно странного кода загрузки управление с джойстика то включается, то выключается, и лишь на короткий момент (самое начало появление надписи «SEGA») управление включено полностью. Из-за этого активировать этот код очень тяжело. Гораздо проще воспользоваться кодом Pro Action Replay FFFFFA:0100. В StH3 режим отладки непосредственно интегрирован с Level Select.
• Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles — войдя в Mushroom Hill Zone через Level Select, необходимо встать на тарзанку и нажать последовательность кнопок ←, ←, ←, →, →, →, ↑, ↑, ↑, и после этого выйти на титульный экран с помощью нажатия A во время паузы. • Кнопка B при удержанном START активирует медленный режим (примерно наполовину от стандартной скорости).
• Кнопка C позволяет включить покадровую анимацию.
