Another quick Horrortale update
Hey all you amazing horrortale fans
Just wanted to update you guys on this really quick.
The final chapter of Horrortale is still on its way, but do to re-formatting issues (ie smaller pages) the pacing is too awkward to release a single page per week anymore. (The reformatting is to help me practice filling pages of a more standard, publishable size. )
So, I’m drawing as much comic as I can before deciding whether to release them on a 2/3 page a day basis, or to wait until the entire chapter is done.
Somehow, we’re near the end of this adventure. I reckon there are 20 or less pages of Horrortale left. Pretty amazing, seeing how long its been around for.
I hope you’re all coping well these days. Every day I’m amazed at how supportive you guys are for a story that means the world to me. Thanks for sticking by me all these years, and I hope you enjoy what’s coming up next ^^

Which puzzle should Aliza choose?
A different kind of HT break.
A few days ago I found myself facing a problem I didn’t see coming. I thought I’d share it with you, both to keep you amazing people updated, and also to add some voice to my jumbled thoughts.
I have many Horrortale pages drafted out from here, going into character development, exploring the increasing tensions of the monsters, introducing new characters, some world-building sprinkles, ect, ect. All the pages are mapped out. But every page means another week’s delay until the story’s ending, and if I go through with the current arc I have drafted, it will be months before Aliza gets out of Snowdin, maybe a year before the story is over. That’s just too long.
I’m working hard to draft a story that pleases the fans at a pace that also works well for me. If the Monday (11.9) deadline is missed please know it’s only to keep the content on the same caliber as its reputation has given it.
Thanks so much for reading, and for offering your support. It’s what inspires me to continue.

Tips and Tricks
A deviant asked me for some tips and tricks on starting a comic. I’ll be honest, I’m a hobbiest when it comes to this. But after responding, I’ll go ahead and share with all 🙂
For drawing:
Rule 1. Take a few moments to practice your art off-comic page. Althought Horrortale’s first chapter is ugly (to me), it wouldn’t have looked half as good if I hadn’t practiced a little beforehand (which could really hurt the series).
Rule 2. Understand the tools and the limits in front of you. Do you plan on drawing the pages and scanning in via printer/photo? Do you have creative software to use on your computer? Do you prefer pencil on paper vs mouse/tablet? No matter what tools you have you can make a successful comic, but the process may differ between them.
Rule 3. Draft your story on paper, but not on concrete. Avoid annoying plotholes and cliche scenarios by having some idea on the overall story and where it’s gonna go (and end). Know your characters and their motivations. That said, it’s totally okay to diverge from your draft. It’s just a starting point.
For posting:
Rule 4: Go for regularity. Decide how often you can post and draw this page. Resist the temptation to post a page the moment it’s done, and instead set up a schedule. People are more likely to «check in» on your profile if they have some idea when to expect new content.
Rule 5. Do NOT be discouraged by low views. Horrortale started very small (Like, 10 views a day.) The reason it’s doing well is because I updated it frequently for years. Many people believe for a work to do well, YOU have to be it’s biggest fan.
Rule 6. Have a healthy sense of the internet and your online self. Be aware of negativity and take some time to think about how you may handle it. Trolls will happen, but they tend to flock towards ideas that are unique and powerful . That, and they are a GREAT way to boost your comment count.
Remember that us artists are always by your side Good luck!
