The Guild 2 – симулятор средневековой жизни со стратегическим уклоном, созданный разработчиками Runeforge Games Studio и выпущенный в далеком 2006 году. Сиквел по-прежнему предлагает геймеру несколько режимов игры и незначительное количество игровых зон. Во второй части главной фишкой игрового процесса является возможность управлять своим персонажем напрямую. Здесь стоит отметить, что в предыдущей игре серии подобной механики не было вовсе.

Большинство профессий были кардинально переработаны, часть из них была убрана разработчиками, часть – добавлена. По мере развития персонажа можно прокачивать навыки, и их в игре стало на порядок больше, нежели раньше. Что интересно, действия игрока на карте не ограничиваются рамками одного города. Теперь можно заниматься торговлей с соседствующими городами и населенными пунктами.

В игре Гильдия 2 появилась развернутая система обучения, благодаря которой игрок познакомиться с основами управления персонажем, «пощупает» боевую систему и поймет азы управления производством. После обучения следует режим песочницы, где перед началом игры пользователь должен выбрать игровую локацию и выставить дополнительные настройки на свое усмотрение.

Всего в The Guild 2 насчитывается четыре игровых режима: задания, выживание, игра на время и режим династии. Несмотря на разные названия, на деле эти режимы отличаются друг от друга несущественно. Разница видна лишь в некоторых мелочах и условиях, соблюдение которых приводит геймера к победе на карте. В остальном, все они выдержаны в лучших традициях концепции sand-box.
