The Competition

Deadline: March 31, 2022

Requirements

Entries are open worldwide to photographers using an iPhone or iPad. Photos should not be published previously anywhere. The posts on personal accounts (Facebook, Instagram etc.) are eligible. The photos should not be altered in any desktop image processing program such as Photoshop. It is OK to use any IOS apps.

The use of any iPhone is permissible. iPhone add-on lenses can be used. In some cases we may ask the original image to verify that it’s taken with an iPhone, iPad. The photos that can not be verified are disqualified.

The submissions must be in the original size or not smaller than 1000 pixels in either height or width.

Categories

Abstract, Animals, Architecture, Children, Cityscape, Landscape, Lifestyle, Nature, People, Portrait, Series (3 images), Still Life, Sunset, Travel, Other.

Prizes

All photographers compete for the 4 IPPAWARDS Photographers of the Year. Grand Prize, 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

Top Prizes :: All entries compete for the prestigious IPPA Photographer of the Year Award title, and the top 3 winners will receive a prize to be announced later.

18 Gold Bars :: The 1st place winner of the 18 categories will win a Gold Bar from the most recognizable private gold mint in the world.

18 Platinum Bars :: The 2nd and 3rd place winners of the 18 categories will win a Platinum Bar from the most recognizable private gold mint in the world.

The work of the top winner and the 1st, 2nd, 3rd Place Winners on each category will be publicized on IPPAWARDS online gallery and any published IPPAWARDS materials.

Certificates in all Categories :: All 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners from each categories will receive a IPPAWARDS certificate.

Honorable Mentions :: IPPAWARDS judges will award several Honorable Mention to entries to acknowledge talent as they deem fit.

Judging Criteria :: Members of the Jury will review all entries and judge images on the basis of artistic merit, originality, subject, and style and ultimately decide the winners.

Entry Fees

1 image:$5.50, 3 images:$12.50, 5 images:$18.50, 10 images:$37.50, 15 images:$55.50, 20 images:$67.00, 25 images:$75.50. There are no limits in the number of entries however we recommend that you only submit your best ones.

Return of the Entries

Entries will not be returned. Only winning entries will be kept on file for promotional purposes. IPPAWARDS will not be responsible for any damaged or lost submissions.

Use of images & disclaimer

Copyright and all other rights remain that of the photographer. Any photograph used by IPPAWARDS shall carry the photographer’s credit line. Use may include publication in any IPPAWARDS media sponsor publication. All entrants understand and agree that any image submitted to the competition may be used by IPPAWARDS to use for marketing and promotional purposes including in any media such as exhibitions, print and digital media directly related to the IPPAWARDS competition.
Participants represent and warrant that (1) the Photographs are original and that they own the rights to their Photographs, (2) the Photographs do not violate the rights of any third party, (3) the Photographs do not convey a false or misleading impression, and (4) any additional information they submit about the Photographs is accurate.

Winner Notification

All winners will be announced online eight to twelve weeks after the final submission deadline. Only top winners in each categories will be notified before the official announcement.

Who can participate?

Select the number of the entries in the “Enter” page and follow the check out process. You can upload your photos after you place your order.

Which photos are elligible?

How do I send my photos?

After you place your order you will have an “upload” option for each order. You can access to your account at “Login” page and view your entries.

Is there a limit to the number of entries I can submit?

There are no limits on the amount of entries you can submit.

Are there restrictions on when a photo was taken?

No, there are no time-based restrictions for when a photo was taken.

I don’t know which category to enter my photos in.

If you are not sure which category to enter your photos please select “Others”.

Can I enter one photo into multiple categories?

No. If no category specified we may assign a category that fits better for the submitted photo.

What size should the images be?

The submissions must be in the original size or not smaller than 1000 pixels in either height or width.

How do I know if you received my entry?

You will receive a confirmation email and will be able to see the status of your entered photos in your account dashboard. If you haven’t received the confirmation check your SPAM folder before contacting us.

I am having a problem uploading my photos. What should I do?

Make sure your files are JPG format.
When naming your files DO NOT use any of these characters (, ), ‘, “, \, / or any space in the file name.
If you are having issues with your upload you can email your photos to info@ippawards.com as attachments. Remember to include your order number in the subject of the email.

How do I know if I’ve won and when?

We do notify award winners by email but sometimes notifications get caught in spam filters or get a non-deliverable return if you change your provided email address. You can always check our site for the list of the winners. If your email has changed you can login to your account and update your information.

All winners will be announced online twelve to fourteen weeks after the final submission deadline.

Объявлены победители ежегодного фотоконкурса iPhone Photography Awards 2020

Фотоконкурс iPhone Photography Awards (IPPAWARDS) был основан в далеком 2007 году. Уже на протяжении 13 лет IPPAWARDS освещает победителей конкурса — талантливых фотографов со всего света. Все участники конкурса создают свои работы непосредственно смартфоном iPhone. На фотоконкурс IPPAWARDS приходят тысячи заявок, судьи отбирают лишь лучшие фотографии.

Сегодня в Нью-Йорке были объявлены победители этого международного конкурса. Гран-при конкурса 2020 достался британскому фотографу Dimpy Bhalotia за работу «Мальчишки в полёте». Почетные первое, второе и третье места присвоены Артёму Барышеву из России, Geli Zhao из Китая и Saif Hussain из Ирака. При этом, конкурс не связан напрямую с компанией Apple. Лауреаты премии этого года представляют более 20-ти стран.

Артем Барышев родился в Беларуси, г. Витебск, живет в Санкт-Петербурге. В 2014 году совершил кругосветное путешествие. По образованию он архитектор, создаёт дизайнерские вещи, элементы домашнего декора.

Про победивший снимок

– Я сделал этот снимок в январе 2020 года, когда путешествовал по Индии еще до закрытия границ. Мы ехали на поезде из Бангалора в Тируваннамалай, и это снимок я сделал прямо из окна поезда. Мне нравится снимать линии, получается очень графично. Я использую в iPhone серийную съемку, где в этом случае один из 20 кадров получился просто Wow, я сразу увидел, что он лучший и я хочу с ним участвовать в конкурсе. Цветокоррекция минимальная, добавил синего, чтобы стена сливалась с небом.

– Я снимаю на iPhone 6 – это моя любимая камера, которая всегда с собой. Ведь снимок – это случай, а камера – это инструмент, и не так важно, на зеркалку ты снимаешь или на смартфон. Этим мне хочется показать, что камера, которая всегда с собой, может дать тебе высокий уровень в фотографии.

– Два года назад я решил больше не публиковать снимки в Instagram, а начал их печатать и раздавать людям, которые со мной лично делились эмоциями. Я перестал выкладывать снимки за лайки. Мне кажется, что люди стали воспринимать свою жизнь через призму соцсетей – многие ценят лайк, а не то, что за снимком скрыто. Мне это не очень близко. Возможно, именно это сыграло ключевую роль в победе на iPhone Photography Awards 2020, поскольку одно из правил конкурса – номинированный снимок не должен быть опубликован в соцсетях.
