If you forgot your Apple ID
Your Apple ID is the account you use to sign in to all Apple services. If you forgot your Apple ID or aren’t sure if you have one, you can look it up or check if you’re already signed in to an app or service.
Check your inbox for emails from Apple
Your Apple ID might be included in some emails from Apple. Search your inbox for receipts as well as repair, support, or billing emails from Apple.
If your email address is masked (k*****@icloud.com), the number of asterisks might not match the number of characters in your email address.
See if you’re already signed in with your Apple ID
Check to see if you’re signed in on your device, or check if you’re signed in to Apple apps or services.
On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
Tap Settings, then tap [your name].
On your Mac
Choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Apple ID.
On your PC
Open iCloud for Windows, then look for your Apple ID under your name.
Other ways to find your Apple ID
You can check if you’re signed in to the App Store, FaceTime, or Messages on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Mac, or check if you’re signed into iTunes for Windows on a PC. You can also go to iCloud.com or appleid.apple.com and see if your Apple ID prefills on the sign in screen.
FaceTime isn’t available in all countries or regions.

If you think your Apple ID has been compromised
Are you concerned that an unauthorized person might have access to your Apple ID? These steps can help you find out and regain control of your account.
Signs your Apple ID has been compromised
Your Apple ID might be compromised if you receive an account notification from Apple for a change you didn’t make, or if you notice account details or changes you don’t recognize. For example:
- You receive an email or notification that your Apple ID was used to sign in to a device you don’t recognize or did not sign in to recently (for example, «Your Apple ID was used to sign in to iCloud on a Windows PC»).
- You receive a confirmation email from Apple that your Apple ID password was changed or your account information was updated, but you don’t remember making any changes.
- Your device was locked or placed in Lost Mode by someone other than you.
- You see messages you didn’t send, or items you didn’t delete.
- You see charges or notices for purchases that you didn’t make. Learn what to do if you see an unfamiliar iTunes Store or App Store charge on your credit or debit card statement.
- Your password no longer works, or it might have been changed or locked.
- You don’t recognize some or all of your account details.
If you received an email, text message, or phone call that you’re not sure is valid or you think might be phishing, here are some tips to help determine its legitimacy.
Gain control of your Apple ID
If you think your Apple ID is compromised, use these steps to gain control of it and review your account information:
- Sign in to your Apple ID account page. If you can’t sign in or you receive a message that the account is locked when you try to sign in, try to reset or unlock your account.
- Change your Apple ID password and choose a strong password.
- Review all the personal and security information in your account. Update any information that isn’t correct or that you don’t recognize, including:
- Your name.
- Your primary Apple ID email address.* If you need to change your email address, update the features and services that you use with Apple ID, so that each one is using your updated Apple ID.
- All alternate email addresses, rescue email addresses, and phone numbers.
- The devices that are associated with your Apple ID, if you’ve already set up two-factor authentication.
- Security questions and answers. If you think they might be easy to guess, you should change your security questions.
- Check with your email address* provider to make sure that you control every email address associated with your Apple ID. If you don’t control the email addresses associated with the Apple ID, you should change the password for the email address or use a different email address.
- Set up two-factor authentication for your Apple ID. This additional security feature is designed to prevent anyone from accessing your account, even if they know your password.
* In China mainland and India, you can use your phone number as your Apple ID.
If you completed the steps above and think your account might still be compromised, contact Apple Support.
Know which Apple ID is signed in to your device
If you’re signed in on your device with an Apple ID that you don’t recognize, use these steps to sign out, then back in with a different Apple ID. To make sure that you’re signed in to Apple IDs that only you control or trust, you can check the following settings on each of your devices:
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch:
- Settings > [your name]
- Settings > [your name] > iTunes & App Store
- Settings > Messages > Send & Receive
- Settings > FaceTime
- System Preferences > Apple ID
- System Preferences > Internet Accounts
- Messages > Preferences > Accounts
- Facetime > Preferences > Settings
- Mail > Preferences > Accounts
- Calendar > Preferences > Accounts
You should also check iCloud for Windows, your AirPort Time Capsule or other AirPort Base Station, and your Apple TV (for iCloud Photos or Home Sharing).
Make sure your Apple ID is secure
Because you use your Apple ID for so many Apple products and services, you should make sure that your Apple ID is as secure as possible. You should be the only person who knows your password and can sign in with your Apple ID. If someone you don’t know or don’t trust can sign in with your Apple ID, your account is not secure.
Your Apple ID might not be secure for the following reasons:
- Someone else created an Apple ID on your behalf, or you’re using an Apple ID that was already signed in when you received your device.
- You’re sharing an Apple ID with family or friends. Your Apple ID is your personal account. If you want to share purchases with a family member, use Family Sharing. With Family Sharing, you can share a calendar, photos, reminders, and more without sharing your Apple ID.
- You don’t recognize the Apple ID that is signed in on your device.
- You shared your password with someone else intentionally or unintentionally. For example, someone else selected your password for you, you told someone your password, or you entered your password on a phishing site.
- You don’t have control of the email address or phone number associated with your Apple ID.
- Your password is weak or is compromised.
- You share your devices with someone else, your devices are not protected by a passcode, or your passcode is easy to guess.

Question: Q: Apple ID already in use
I want to set up a new apple account for my daughter bc both were using the same one. For purposes of using the cloud, I want them to have their own. I proceeded to set up her account and after doing everything it said her AppleId was already associated with an AppleId account, so I proceeded to Apple re-set password and used that appleId it said it had, and had them send an email to the account with the password so I could use it, thinking she did this a while ago and forgot. No email ever came to her email account and I don’t want to set up an entirely different email account just for this.

Go to appleID.apple.com and sign in with you other appleID, then remove the additional email addresses. Now you’ll be able to use them again for separate accounts.

Thanks for all of your help. I waited about 30 minutes and tried again and it finally worked. So the system needed sometime to reset to not recognize the email. Yay! All of us now have our own appleids and can use the cloud individually. Thanks again!

Typically Apple Support sends an Apple ID Password Reset to a «Rescue» email address that someone gave them when the Apple ID account was set up in the first place. The «Rescue» email address cannot be the same email that is the primary address for the Apple ID. Have you looked for the email in another email Inbox that may have been setup as the «Rescue» email address.

Go to appleID.apple.com and sign in with you other appleID, then remove the additional email addresses. Now you’ll be able to use them again for separate accounts.

This morning I am kind of rethinking your original commends and wondering if the pop-up feedback as you tried to create your daughter’s new Apple ID was actually saying that the Apple ID selected was already in use period. Then if you tried to request a change of password for that Apple ID the email would go to whomever actually is using that Apple ID. Are you absolutely certain that you have «that» Apple ID entered correctly? Is that Apple ID your daughter’s current email address? In any event as you work to create the overall content management for the devices of your family via iClould, iTunes, etc., be aware that there are many choices as to how to achieve your goal. Each User/Owner could clearly have their Own Apple ID, but you may actually Share one ID for things like iTunes content. You might want to read the various threads on the advantages of the different content management and device management. When you think about Apps like iMessage, FaceTime, etc. there again are many ways to manage what is directed to a specific device, even if you all share a common Apple ID.

I found her email on two accounts and deleted it. Still says its associated with an account. Is there anyway to find out where else it’s associated to delete it? I have no idea where else it could be!

Всем привет! Недавно ко мне принесли iPhone и попросили научить устанавливать на него какие-либо программы или игры. Ничего, казалось бы, сложного! Естественно, я рассказал что все эти манипуляции происходят через магазин приложений App Store и для этого необходима учетная запись Apple ID. Мне ответили, что им уже создали идентификатор, и мы попробовали вместе загрузить бесплатное приложение.
И каково же было мое удивление, когда во время попытки его скачать (через Wi-Fi или сотовую сеть — без разницы), устройство выдало нам вот такое странное сообщение: «Этот Apple ID еще не использовался в iTunes Store» с двумя вариантами ответа — «просмотреть» и «отменить». Ну а программа, конечно же, даже и не думала начинать скачиваться.
Скажу честно, я, несмотря на свой немалый опыт общения с iOS-устройствами, подобное сообщение увидел впервые и немного растерялся.
Однако, потом выяснилось, что проблема не такая уж и большая — мы быстренько все исправили. Как? Сейчас все расскажу. Приступим!
Итак, для начала определимся почему возникает ошибка «Этот Apple ID еще не использовался в iTunes Store. Нажмите просмотреть, чтобы войти в систему, а затем просмотрите информацию об учетной записи». Она может появляться в двух случаях:
- Учетная запись создана достаточно давно и сначала все-таки использовалась, а потом была неактивна на протяжении длительного времени.
- Apple ID был создан некоторое время назад, однако не использовался вообще ни разу.
В первом случае, проблема и ее решение заключается в том, что с момента последней активности (загрузки чего-либо) выходило несколько новых лицензионных соглашений и для того, чтобы продолжить использовать Apple ID достаточно просто их прочитать и принять.
Причем сделать это можно сразу после появления надписи «Этот Apple ID еще не…». Через несколько секунд после ее показа, «всплывает» требуемое соглашение.
Во втором случае все немного тяжелее. Ведь подразумевается, что Вы ни разу не использовали свою учетную запись для активности в любом из магазинов Apple — App Store, iTunes Store и т.д. И теперь компания хочет чтобы Вы подтвердили все данные, а также свою платежеспособность.
Хотя, по большей части её интересует всего лишь то, чтобы Вы указали как будете оплачивать загрузку платного контента.
Для этого, после появления «Этот Apple ID еще не использовался в iTunes Store»:
- Нажимаем «Посмотреть».
- И в графе платежные данные указываем либо реквизиты карты, либо альтернативный способ оплаты.
А как же быть тем, кто не хочет ничего указывать и желает загружать исключительно бесплатный контент из магазина? Проще говоря — где пункт «НЕТ» в способах оплаты!?
А вот здесь сюрприз — для таких, давно созданных и не используемых ранее учеток Apple ID, пункта «без оплаты» не существует.
Грустно, но ничего не поделаешь — такова политика компании Apple.
Итак, подводим итог и резюмируем:
- Если Вам нужен «старый» Apple ID для загрузки игр, приложений, музыки из магазинов Apple Store и iTunes Store, а система пишет, что его невозможно использовать, то для исправления этой ошибки необходимо указать платежные данные (номер кредитки или др.) Обязательно. По-другому никак.
- Если по каким-то причинам вы не хотите этого делать, то выход только один — не использовать старый Apple ID и создать его заново, но уже без кредитной карты.
