UPD2: При первой установке клиента синхронизация в настройках телефона д.б. включена , иначе невозможно настроить клиент (меню настроек становится неактивным).

My Tweets are protected. How do I view my follower requests?

You can approve/deny follower requests in the app:

Go to your profile page.
TapВ Follower RequestsВ from the menu to see a list of your requests.
Approve the request by tapping theВ checkmark, or deny the request by tapping theВ X.

How do I remove the app or move it to my SD card?

If your device included Twitter for Android as a bundled application, it cannot be uninstalled or moved to SD card.
The option to move to SD would only move the application itself (1.89mb), not the data while using the app. If on SD, the app will lose your login information.

Why isn’t my timeline automatically updated when I open the app?

Your timeline if the app is open or running in the background.
If you leave the app and reopen, just pull down to refresh the timeline.
This feature helps preserve timeline position when you close and reopen.

Is dark mode available on Twitter for Android?

Yes, Twitter for Android supports dark mode. To enable this feature:

In the top menu, tap yourВ profileВ icon.
TapВ Settings andprivacy.
Tap theВ Display and soundВ tab.
Tap theВ Dark modeВ slider to turn the feature on.

Yes, you can adjust the font size displayed on your Twitter for Android app through your AndroidвЂ™s device settings. How to reduce your data usage

You can reduce the amount of data used by Twitter by enabling data saver mode. Control what media you want downloaded in real time to help save data.В

From your profile menu, tap Settings and privacy.
Under General, tap Data usage.
Tap the toggle next to Data saver to turn on.

In this mode, images will load in lower quality and videos won’t autoplay.В You also have the option for high quality images, video, and video autoplay.

How to post and delete a Tweet

To post a Tweet:

Enter your message, and then tap Tweet.

A notification will appear in the status bar on your device and will go away once the Tweet successfully sends.

To save a Tweet as a draft:

If you would like to save your Tweet as a draft, tap the X in the Tweet compose window.
You will see the option to save as a draft. To access your saved drafts, go to your profile and tap the overflow iconВ

then select Drafts.В

You can also access your drafts by tapping into the composer box, then tapping Drafts within the box.

YouвЂ™ll only see the Drafts prompt when you have at least one draft saved. Should you log out of your account through your app or uninstall your app, any drafts you have saved will be deleted and cannot be restored.

How to enable dark mode

In the top menu, tap your profile icon.
Tap Settings and privacy.
Tap the Display and sound tab.
Tap Dark mode to turn the feature on. You can also enable the Automatic at sunset option.
Choose Dim or Lights out by tapping your preference under Dark theme.
To turn the feature off, tap the Dark mode option again.

10 best Twitter apps for Android

This space has stagnated quite a bit in recent years. However, Twitter may implement some tools that could lead to a new surge in third party Twitter apps. We’d also like to give an honorable mention to Friendly Social Browser (Google Play link). It has support for many social media sites, including Twitter, but it’s a bit rough around the edges.

Albatross for Twitter

Price: Free / $2.99

Albatross for Twitter is one of the newer third party Twitter apps. It hits most of the proper features out of the gate, including an ad-free experience, a truly chronological order, and theming. Some other features include list support, sorting by notification type, and it supports all the various media formats Twitter uses. Finally, this is one of the few good consumer level options with Tweet scheduling. In any case, this one had a bit of a rough launch, but recent updates seem to be fixing things up rather well.

Fenix 2

Price: $4.99

Fenix 2 is the sequel to one of the most popular Twitter apps. Fenix 2 adds a bit of refinement along with other stuff compared to the first one. That’s good news because the first one isn’t available in Google Play anymore. It supports multiple accounts, a mute system, a great design, and more. There are even some customization options for your main screen. It works quite well even if it is a little newer than most of the more mature Twitter apps. It’s also inexpensive, although there is no free version to try first.

Friendly For Twitter

Price: Free / $1.99-$9.99

Friendly For Twitter is one of the newer Twitter apps on the list. We already quite like this developer’s Friendly For Facebook app so we were happy to see a Twitter version as well. The app lets you log into Twitter and scroll the old timeline just like any other Twitter app. There are a variety of tools as well. Some of the additional features include the ability to download Twitter videos, GIFs, and images if you want that. The pro version has a variety of customization options as well.

Hootsuite

Price: Free / $19.99+ per month

Hootsuite is one of the original Twitter apps that also tracks multiple social networks at once. With this one, you can check your Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, and various other accounts all from one central hub. It’s a little confusing to get into at first but it’s a breeze to use once you learn your way around. You can post to multiple networks at once, get notifications for Facebook and Twitter when people mention you (or a specific hashtag), and there’s a lot more here. This one requires a subscription for the full list of features. However, only businesses and similar entities would need something like that.

Owly for Twitter

Price: Free / $2.99

Owly for Twitter is a newer Twitter app. It’s easily among the best in a slowing and shrinking Twitter apps market. However, there is room for improvement with this one. It does the basics and also includes unique ways for bypassing Twitter’s character limit and other such tools. There is a lack of some basic features and UI elements, though, so that is something to keep in mind. It’s a decent, simple Twitter app with some fun features, but we’d like to see improvements over time.

Talon for Twitter

Price: Free / $2.99-$10.00

Talon for Twitter is one of the more popular Twitter apps. It was also among the first with Material Design. Since then, it’s settled in as being one of the best Twitter apps available right now. It has a fantastic user interface, support for two accounts, Android Wear support, night mode, and even a native YouTube player so you don’t have to leave the app. There’s no free version of this app so do be sure to test it out inside of the refund time to make sure you like it! It’s definitely one of the best Twitter apps.

Price: Free

Tweet2gif is not a Twitter alternative but more of a Twitter tool. It lets you download videos and GIFs since the stock app usually doesn’t. Videos are downloadable in MP4, GIFs are downloadable in GIF format, and there is a download history record. The app works fairly well. You copy and paste the link to a tweet in the app and the app parses the data and lets you download the stuff. The app has the very occasional bug according to Google Play reviewers, but it worked fine in our testing. This is a great tool for those who want to grab something off of Twitter.

TwitPane

Price: Free / $4.99

TwitPane is one of the more lightweight and customizable Twitter apps. Its claim to fame is the ability to only show the tabs that you want to see. That way, you can remove the stuff you don’t want and keep only the stuff you do. Additionally, the free version of the app (ad supported) gives you support for three accounts while the paid version does five. It doesn’t look overly special, but the design is simple and solid. The free version is ad supported. The paid version removes the ads and adds a few additional feature. It’s surprisingly good.

Price: Free

Of course, we will give the obligatory nod to the official Twitter application. Hilariously, the official Twitter app is one of the less bloated options on the list. It does what you need it to do and that’s about it. It’ll be the first to support new Twitter features. That includes things like Twitter Moments, live footage, Fleets, and eventually the new Twitter Places feature. It’s completely free, will never run out of tokens, and it even has decent syncing settings. Its big draw, though, is having Twitter features that none of the third party apps can get yet.

UberSocial

Price: Free / $4.99

Ubersocial is actually produced by the same developers who brought us Plume for Twitter so if you’ve used one, you kind of know what to expect from the other. It has deeper than usual Facebook integration and you can post to Facebook using the app. It also has some of the more basic features of a third party Twitter app such as multiple account support, post muting, live view, conversation views, etc. There is also theming along with some quirky features like shake-to-refresh. It’s a fun app to try out although it is starting to lose its appeal when compared to more freshly designed, modern Twitter apps. This same developer also does Plume, another competent and popular Twitter client.
