Will Apple ditch the Home button on the iPhone 8?
Rumours have been flying since the release of the iPhone 7 about the updates Apple will feature on the iPhone 8, with speculation about wireless chargers, face recognition and glass displays.
The biggest concern for many is whether Apple will ditch the physical Home Button, with its embedded fingerprint sensor from the front of its next iPhone in order to create a bezel free display. Insiders can’t agree whether Apple will remove the trademark Touch ID scanner completely, create a virtual button or try to relocate it elsewhere on the device.
Mark Gurman (Consumer Tech & Apple News at Bloomberg) believes the old style Touch ID will be dropped in favour of a virtual home button and face-scanning to log-in, authenticate contactless payments and open secure iOS apps. Gurnman also reports that the ‘screen will also take up nearly the entire front of the phone, save for thinner bezels and a notch at the top of the front to fit in the camera and new sensors.’
We haven’t got long to wait, as the Apple iPhone 8 is tipped to be hitting our site mid September. Register your interest in the iPhone 8 today, to be first in line for preorders.

Will the Apple iPhone 8 offer a 521 ppi display?
KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has offered a new report on the upcoming iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, expected later this year.
Kuo claims that iPhone 8 will offer a 521ppi pixel density, which is almost twice the 321ppi offering of the iPhone 7. The display is also likely to feature a brilliant resolution of 2436 x 1125 pixels, compared to 1334 x 750 pixels in iPhone 7′s IPS HD display screen.
The report suggests that the iPhone 8 device will also adopt a new function area at the bottom the display, which is possible due to the near bezel-less design and increase in screen size to 5.8-inch.
This new function area is likely to replace the current Home button and Touch ID, meaning Apple is likely to replace the Touch ID functionality with new biometric technologies to ensure specs don’t suffer.
Along side the new function area, there may also be a ratio change along with the iPhone update. Kuo reports a predicted long display screen with a ratio close to 21:9 compared to the 16:9 aspect ratio of the current handsets.

Apple granted Seven Design Patents covering their iPhone 7
The Apple iPhone 7 hit our world on September 7, 2016, at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in San Francisco by Apple CEO Tim Cook, and were released on September 16, 2016. Since then iPhone 7 fever has taken over and the iPhone 7 Plus sold out online before the smartphone became available in store.
Last week Apple continued their iPhone 7 winning streak with the tech giants being granted seven design patents covering their iPhone 7.
The majority cover the dual lens camera system of the Plus (a total of four design patents for the iPhone 7-Plus from numbers 7M001 to 7M004) with the remaining three design patents focusing on individual features of the iPhone 7 Plus design.
What to Expect from iOS10
The invites are out and the iPhone 7 is nearly here, which also means the official launch of iOS 10, which was unveiled at the Worldwide Developers Conference earlier this year.
Here are the highlights of things to come:
1. Messages are made fun, Snapchat style, with stickers, doodles and invisible ink (Send a message or photo that remains hidden, then simply swipe to reveal it.).
2. Maps gets an update, making proactive suggestions for where you’re likely to go and the fastest way to get there. You can even make reservations at your favourite restaurants through apps like OpenTable and Uber direct from the Maps app.
3. Make your Home Smart. With the new Home app you’ll be able to turn lights on, raise your blinds and unlock doors.
4. The Music has been redesigned, with an intuitive design making it easier to enjoy your favourite songs and view lyrics.
5. You’ll be able to use 3D Touch with more apps and the Control Centre.
6. Raise to wake feature will allow you to simply pick up your iPhone to wake it up, and view your notifications.
7. Find the moment in an instant. With iOS10 you can search your photos by the people or things in them, like a beach, a football game or a puppy.
8. Pay for your online shopping with Apple Pay in your browser.
iOS 10 supported devices:
If you’re looking to update your current handset, iOS 10 will be a free update for the following devices:
All of the handsets above are available to purchase sim free, with next day delivery.
Will the iPhone 7 dual camera produce more detailed photographs?
It’s no secret that Apple are likely to release at least two new smartphones in September, the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7s, maybe an iPhone 7 Pro as well.
New rumours suggest that the iPhone 7 handsets may house dual cameras. A source from Bloomberg suggest that these dual cameras will provide a brighter, more detailed photograph as each lens will come with its own sensor. Therefore, each single photo will be a composite of two images captured at the same time.
All eyes are on you Tim Cook for next week’s releases.

Will the iPhone 7 house a Touch Sensitive Home Button?
We’ve heard a whole host of rumours surrounding the iPhone 7 handset (or 3 possible variants of the iPhone 7) , due for launch in September this year. New predictions have surfaced surrounding the home button on the up coming apple release.
There have been numerous reports online suggesting that the iPhone 7 will house a brand new innovative pressure sensitive home button which will make use of Apple’s haptic feedback technology. Developing the 3D Touch of MacBook’s trackpads the touch sensitive button is likely to lead to lower failure rates.
The suggestion of a pressure sensitive home button also supports the rumours of a water and dust resistant iPhone this time round, as it will offer better weather sealing.

Apple file Patent for Samsung Galaxy Edge style Curved screen
Apple filed a patent (Patent US009411451) on April of last year for electronic devices with sidewall displays and ‘bent flexible displays may be bent to form front side displays and edge displays’.
The patent describes ”Edge displays may alternatively function as virtual buttons, virtual switches or information displays that are supplemental to front side displays… Edge shows might alternatively perform as digital buttons, digital switches or info shows which might be supplemental to entrance aspect shows.”
This makes us think that Apple are putting together future iPhones (the iPhone 8 maybe) that will offer a curved screen similar to those seen in the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and Note 7.
