Ratings and Reviews

Excellent file manger, why does Pro version get poor reviews?

Simplicity now, to save dropbox docs to iCloud, or files, and assign them to specific folders there, edit the name & sort several ways, once there. I use many cloud apps and browsers, and after 5 minutes, wanted to upgrade to Pro. until I read the — reviews! Is there a seasoned user out there who can explain how to use it so it does everything the developer says it can do, and then explain what caused such — reviews.
IOS11 user, and soonIOS12- many devices!
Developer- is there a Pro trial avaiabe?

Unable to rename files. The option doesn’t exist.

I found this app looking for one that would give me the ability to rename photos on my iPad Pro, running iOS 12.3.1. I’m tired of having to upload them to OneDrive, delete them from my iPad Pro, rename them on the cloud and then download them to the iPad Pro again. This app page states that among the features is the ability to rename files, which is exactly what I need. This would be really awesome. if the option actually existed. But, it doesn’t. Among the many options available to me in this app, renaming a file is not one provided. I have tried with numerous photos, as well as PDF files. There are options to copy into many apps, save to device (I’m not sure why, since the file is already on it) and so on. But, the option to rename a file? Nope. It isn’t there. This is the one thing I needed this app to do, but the option does not exist in this app on my device. Back to the drawing board.

Great files app — handles lots of files.

I have found this to be one of my favorite file apps out there and I’ve tried dozens of them. This one has the most functions as well as being able to handle quite a number of files, and folders.

The only thing that I would like better, as I use it to bring in ePub files directly to my iBooks, would be if it could handle multiple file selections at once. That no app has been able to do this, I can’t find fault with the app, as it’s more likely a limitation built into the iOS.

I have also used this to handle zip/cbr files for comic reading. It has handled manipulation of these types of files well, not to mention renaming files as I needed to. Sometimes it easier to do all this on the PC before bringing them into Files Folder, but it can be done after too, in case I missed a few things. Saves having to redo it on the PC and transfer the files again.

If you need a great files app, this is one of the best available. Not to mention it is free, though even if it wasn’t, it would be worth paying a couple dollars for its use. Happy ‘Filing’!! 😉

Ratings and Reviews

Even better than last year

2nd time using app. First time loaded pics from iPad to computer. Pics transferred with no problem. However going back I lost the pics and I contacted developer Support and he indicated that pics would not be lost or deleted and could check again with search files. Was able to find the files and was good to go. Second time loading iPhone pics to computer on WiFi as I needed the back up in order to have the battery replaced. Now found new help files which explain the procedure very well and was able to download all my files as required. Do not remember that zip file was used on first Upload but this worked well and provides another backup. Recommend to download files perhaps at 2000 or less at a time because loading a big block of files will come over but will take a long time. Then you can verify the files came over properly. Do not have a problem with ads as it’s a free app better than iCloud and iTunes which have limitations and charges for large files. Kudos to the developer for the help files and great app.

Works but Problems with App Storage Size and Clunky UI

It does work, and I had better luck with it transferring a large video file than with the Documents app on the App Store, but this app UI here is clunky. You can’t check file names at all as far as I can see, and it took me too long to figure out how to play a video file inside the app to make sure that I was choosing the right video.

But also the worse potential problem is that this app’s Documents & Data storage seems to scale up, at least up to the largest file you do, or maybe total, but will not go down again no matter if you think you’ve deleted all your files from inside the app. Admittedly I did use Import, which maybe I didn’t need to, but afterwards I then had the app’s Documents & Data storage taking up an additional 15GB even with turning off its hosting and deleting every file I did from inside the app, and completely closing and restarting my iPad. The app’s storage was still taking 15GB. So unfortunately, I do recommend uninstalling it after you’re done with your transfer job.

And remember to also check your “Recently Deleted” files in both “Files” (file explorer), Photos, and whatever app you’re doing this stuff with if it lets you, because it’s actually a Recycle Bin of stuff that doesn’t actually delete unless you tell it to delete again. But apparently we’re not able to shrink this app’s storage without reinstalling it.

EXCELLENT — recommend using Chrome instead of Edge for large files

This app is great and easy to use — it worked very well for uploading and super fast for large video file out of my iPad Pro 2018 to my PC. However I temporarily had a problem (now solved) because could not upload 5GB file from PC to iPad (smaller files worked) because it was making the web browser (Edge from MS on Windows 10) reload the app WITHOUT UPLOADING to the top upload/reload buttons. After initially posting a 3 star review I decided to try again the upload but this time with the lighter Chrome browser and it worked perfectly.
Kudos to the developer for the app simplicity. I am going to test later on the week using wired Ethernet over a usb-c against the Ethernet on my laptop because ad-hoc WiFi is no longer as supported in windows 10. I assume this app should just work fine over the wire as it is based on higher level stack standard — that will make it inmune to polluted WiFi environments in hotels and trade shows
