Redeem a gift card with your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
- Find the 16-digit code on the back of the card. For some gift cards, you might need to peel or gently scratch off the label to see the code.
- On your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, open the App Store app.
- At the top of the screen, tap the sign-in button or your photo.
- Tap Redeem Gift Card or Code. If you don’t see Redeem Gift Card or Code, sign in with your Apple ID.
- Tap Use Camera and follow the instructions on the screen. If you have trouble redeeming the card, tap «You can also enter your code manually,» then follow the instructions on the screen.
- Tap Done.

- Find the 16-digit code on the back of the card. For some gift cards, you might need to peel or gently scratch off the label to see the code.
- On your Mac, open the App Store.
- Click your name or the sign-in button in the sidebar.
- Click Redeem Gift Card.

- Open the Apple Music app.
- Tap the menu button , then tap Account.
- Tap Redeem Gift Card or Code.
- Enter the 16-digit code. Then tap Redeem.
If you received a gift card by email
To redeem a gift card that someone emailed to you, open the email and tap or click the Redeem Now button.
What you can buy with these gift cards
When you redeem an Apple Gift Card or App Store & iTunes gift card, you can make purchases with your Apple ID balance. Those purchases can include apps, games, subscriptions like Apple Music or iCloud+, and more. But for some purchases, Apple ID balance can’t be used. Learn what you can buy with your Apple ID balance.
Where the Apple Gift Card is available, you can also use your Apple ID balance to buy products and accessories at apple.com or in the Apple Store app. See if Apple Gift Card is available in your country or region.
On an Android device, you can use your gift card to buy an Apple Music subscription. To make purchases from the App Store, Apple Books, or the Apple TV app, use an Apple device.

How to send a gift from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
- Open the App Store app, iTunes Store app, or Books app.
- Tap the item that you want to give.

Resend a gift
If the recipient can’t find the email with the redeem button, you can resend the gift.
How to resend a gift from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap your name.
- Tap Media & Purchases, then tap View Account.
- Sign in with your Apple ID.
- Tap Gifts.
- Tap the gift that you want to resend.
- Make sure that the recipient’s email is spelled correctly. If you need to edit the recipient’s email address, tap their email address, then tap it again and enter the correct address.
- Tap Resend Gift. If you don’t see Resend Gift, it has already been redeemed.
How to resend a gift from your computer
- Open the Music app. Or if you’re on a PC, open iTunes.
- From the menu bar, choose Account > View My Account. You might be asked to sign in with your Apple ID.
- The Account Information page appears. Scroll to the Purchase History section and click Manage Gifts.
- Click Edit next to the gift that you want to resend.
- Make sure that the recipient’s email is spelled correctly. If you need to edit the recipient’s email address, click the email address, then make changes.
- Click Resend Gift.
If there’s an issue when you send a gift
- The recipient of your gift must have an Apple ID in your country or region. For example, if you’re in the United States, you can’t send a gift to a friend who lives in Australia.
- In some regions, you can’t send gifts. Store availability also varies by country or region. Learn what’s available in your country or region.
- If you’re using Family Sharing and Ask To Buy is turned on for your account, you can’t purchase gifts.
- You can’t gift individual songs on an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch. To gift a song, use your Mac or PC.
- You can’t gift apps, TV shows, or movies on a Mac or PC. To gift those items, use an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
- You can’t gift a free app or item. But you can tap the Share button or the arrow button to share a link to the app or item.
Cancel a gift
If you want to cancel a gift, you can contact Apple Support up to two days before scheduled delivery.
Email a gift card
Your recipient can redeem an Apple Gift Card or App Store & iTunes gift card to their Apple ID balance. Then they can use that balance to buy subscriptions like Apple Music, Apple Arcade, or Apple TV+. Or they can buy apps, movies, books, and more from Apple.

What type of gift card do I have?
To find out how to redeem your gift card and what you can buy with it, check which type of gift card you have.
Apple Gift Card
The front of your Apple Gift Card shows a colorful Apple logo on a white background. The gift card is inside a sleeve, and the Apple logo is a collectible sticker. The pattern might look different from the image that you see here, because Apple Gift Cards are available with a range of designs.
Use your Apple Gift Card at an Apple Store to buy products and accessories. Or redeem it in the App Store and use it for apps, subscriptions like Apple Music or iCloud+, purchases from apple.com, and more.
App Store & iTunes Gift Card
Most App Store & iTunes Gift Cards are blue with a pattern on the front. On the back of these cards, you can find a 16-digit redemption code that begins with X. Redeem your gift card for apps, subscriptions, and more.
Apple Store Gift Card
Apple Store Gift Cards are a solid color (gray, white, silver, or gold) on the front. On the back of these cards, you can find:
- A link to a website where you can check your gift card’s balance.
- Text that says that the card can only be used in the Apple Online Store or Retail Store, or that you can’t redeem the card in the iTunes Store.
- A phone number that you can call if you need help.
In most countries and regions, you can use an Apple Store Gift Card in an Apple Store or at apple.com. In France, Germany, Singapore, and Switzerland, Apple Store Gift Cards can be used only in an Apple Store, not on apple.com.
Older gift cards
If your card looks different from the cards above, it might be an older card, but you can still redeem it. Just follow the steps on the back of the card.

We offer a variety of services that make apple.com the ideal place for you to purchase items to give as gifts for family and friends. Find out everything you need to know about giving a gift through apple.com.
Gift Messaging
For selected items delivered to a physical shipping address, you can include a free gift message on the packing slip. No pricing information will be included with the shipment. Free gift message is not available for pickup orders.
For eligible pickup orders, you may be able to add Apple Gift Wrap at an additional cost. This will enable you to leave a message for the recipient. See the Gift Wrap section below for more details.
When you selected to put an item in your bag, just select the checkbox that says “This is a gift” or “Add a free gift message.” In the Bag, click the Add Free Gift Message link, enter your message, then click the Save Message link.
If you’re sending a gift directly to a friend or family member, you may want Apple to email them carrier and tracking information as their items are shipped. For more details, visit the Shipping & Pickup section of Help.
Gift Wrapping
When you order select products, you can add a special touch to your gift. Apple Gift Package is a signature gift box with a red ribbon and a greeting card with your personal message.
To add a gift package:
- When you add an eligible product to your bag, just select the checkbox that says “This is a gift”, and you will be given the option to add gift wrap.
- Please note: if you are planning to pick up your product in an Apple Store, selecting a gift package will add extra time to your order.

Apple Gift Cards take the guesswork out of giving a gift. The newest generation of gift card from Apple is for everything and everyone. How to Purchase Apple Gift Cards
Apple Gift Cards can be purchased on apple.com, in the Apple Store app or at the Apple Store. Electronic gift cards can be purchased in any amount between $10-$2000 CAD. Physical gift cards can be purchased in any amount between $25-$2000 CAD. You can also find Apple Gift Cards at many retailers nationwide.
If you purchase an electronic Apple Gift Card to send to someone else, we’ll send you an email notification once we send the gift card to the recipient. If you buy a physical Apple Gift Card online and choose to have it shipped, you’ll receive the usual tracking and delivery notifications. Each Apple Gift Card can include an optional gift message. iTunes Gift Cards
iTunes Gift Cards can be redeemed for songs, albums, audiobooks, videos and games on the iTunes Store. They cannot be used to buy Apple products. To purchase items outside of the iTunes Store, visit the Apple Store Gift Cards section of online Help.
Corporate Gifting and Rewards

Canada Sales and Refund Policy
Thanks for shopping at Apple. We appreciate the fact that you like to buy the cool stuff we build. We also want to make sure you have a rewarding experience while you’re exploring, evaluating, and purchasing our products, whether you’re at the Apple Online Store, in an Apple Retail Store, or on the phone with the Apple Contact Center. (To make it visually easier on both of us, we’ll refer to these entities as the “Apple Store” in this policy.)
As with any shopping experience, there are terms and conditions that apply to transactions at an Apple Store. We’ll be as brief as our attorneys will allow. Standard Return Policy
We fundamentally believe you will be thrilled with the products you purchase from the Apple Store. That’s because we go out of our way to ensure that they’re designed and built to be just what you need. We understand, however, that sometimes a product may not be what you expected it to be. In that unlikely event, we invite you to review the following terms related to returning a product.
For any undamaged product, simply return it with its included accessories and packaging along with the original receipt within 15 days of the date you receive the product, and we’ll exchange it or offer a refund based upon the original payment method. In addition, please note the following:
- Products can be returned only in the country or region in which they were originally purchased.
- The following products are not eligible for return: electronic software downloads, subscriptions to the Software-Up-To-Date program, Apple Store Gift Cards, and any Apple Developer Connection products.
- For returns to an Apple Retail Store for cash, cash equivalent, and cheque transactions over $750, Apple will mail a refund cheque to you within 10 business days.
- Should you wish to return ten or more of the same product, you must return to the Apple Store where originally purchased.
- Opened software cannot be returned if it contained a seal with the software license on the outside of the package and you could read the software license before opening its packaging. As an exception, you may return Apple-branded software if you do not agree to the licensing terms; however, you may not retain or otherwise use any copies of returned software.
- Apple provides security features to enable you to protect your product in case of loss or theft. If these features have been activated and cannot be disabled by the person in possession of the phone, Apple may refuse the return or exchange.

iPhone, iPad and Watch Returns — Wireless Service Cancellation
Wireless carriers have different service cancellation policies. Returning your iPhone, iPad or Watch may not automatically cancel or reset your wireless account; you are responsible for your wireless service agreement and for any applicable fees associated with your wireless account. Please contact your wireless service provider for more information.
Apple Watch Returns
Apple Watch from the Edition collection may only be returned or exchanged if it’s in its original, undamaged, and unmarked condition after passing inspection at Apple’s offsite facility. Depending on your original form of tender, a cheque, wire transfer, or refund to your debit/credit card will be issued within 10 business days provided the returned item is in its original condition.

Making unauthorized modifications to the software on an iPhone violates the iPhone software license agreement. The common term for modifying an iPhone is jail-breaking, with a particular emphasis on the second part of that term. That’s why we strongly, almost emphatically, recommend that you do not do so. Really. Should you be unable to use your iPhone due to an unauthorized software modification, its repair will not be covered under the warranty.
Pricing and Price Reductions/Corrections
Apple reserves the right to change prices for products displayed at/on the Apple Store at any time, and to correct pricing errors that may inadvertently occur. In the event you have been charged more than the posted price for a product in an Apple Retail Store, please see a Manager for a refund of the overcharge.
Should Apple reduce its price on any Apple-branded product within 15 calendar days from the date you receive your product, feel free to visit an Apple Retail Store or contact the Apple Contact Center at 1-800-676-2775 to request a refund or credit of the difference between the price you were charged and the current selling price. To receive the refund or credit you must contact Apple within 15 calendar days of the price change. Please note that this excludes limited-time price reductions, such as those that occur during special sales events, such as Black Friday or Cyber Monday.
Price protection is only available for up to 10 units of a particular product. Additionally, we may require that you have the product with you or otherwise have proof of possession when requesting price protection.
Prices shown are in Canadian dollars. If you are paying for your order with an international Visa, MasterCard, or American Express credit card, please note that the purchase price may fluctuate with exchange rates. In addition, your bank or credit card issuer may also charge you foreign conversion charges and fees, which may also increase the overall cost of your purchase. Please contact your bank or credit card issuer regarding these fees.
Order Acceptance/Confirmation
Apple may, in its sole discretion, refuse or cancel any order and limit order quantity. Apple may also require additional qualifying information prior to accepting or processing any order. Once we receive your Online or Call Center order, we’ll provide you with an email order confirmation. Your receipt of an order confirmation, however, does not signify Apple’s acceptance of your order, nor does it constitute confirmation of our offer to sell; we are simply confirming that we received your order. The Apple Store reserves the right at any time after receiving your order to accept or decline your order for any reason. If Apple cancels an order after you have already been billed, Apple will refund the billed amount.
Shipping & Delivery
Please review the Shipping & Pickup (Opens in a new window) page to learn about how and when you will receive the products you purchased from the Apple Store. Since the actual delivery of your order can be impacted by many events beyond Apple’s control once it leaves our facilities, Apple cannot be held liable for late deliveries. We will, however, work with you to ensure a smooth delivery.
As Apple takes care of the dispatch of the products you purchase on the Apple Store, the risk of loss of, or damage to, product(s) shall pass to you when you, or a person designated by you, acquires physical possession of the product(s). Title in the product(s) shall pass to you when the product(s) is picked up by the carrier from our warehouse. At this point, you will receive the Shipment Notification Email. If there are any issues with delivery, please contact Apple to resolve.
In-Store Pickup and Return
Apple offers in-store pickup for many of the items available on the Online Store. Certain products and payment methods, however, may not qualify for in-store pickup. Financing payment method does not qualify for in-store pickup. Only you or the person designated by you may pick up the item(s) purchased. A government-issued photo ID and order number will be required for pickup. Apple will notify you when your order is ready and the date by which you need to pick up your items. We’ll also send you a reminder or two, just in case it slips your mind. If you don’t pick up your order, Apple may cancel it. Pickup Contact
If you select in-store pickup, you may designate a third party to pick up your order. You must provide the name and email address of the third party. Please note that certain products and payment methods are not eligible for in-store pickup by a third party. The third party will need to bring a government-issued photo ID and order number for pickup. Apple is not responsible for actions taken by the third party once your item(s) have been picked up.
Consumers Only
The Apple Store sells and ships products to end-user customers only, and we reserve the right to refuse or cancel your order if we suspect you are purchasing products for resale.
Canada Shipping Only
Products purchased online from Apple will only be shipped to addresses within Canada and are subject to Canadian, U.S. and foreign export control laws and regulations. Products must be purchased, sold, exported, re-exported, transferred, and used in compliance with these export laws and regulations. Product Availability and Limitations
