Question: Q: DOES APPLE SUPPORT FLASH OR IS THERE A WORKAROUND?

Hi, we are new to the Apple products having just purchased in the last month an IPHONE4 and an IPAD2 3G.

We had occasion today to post up a message on a funeral home’s website and found we were unable to access to do this because Apple does not support FLASH.

Is there an app in the works or presently out there that will enable the Apple products to do this?

(We’ve updated both devices to the latest applicatioin updates and ICLOUD)

Appreciate your response on this.

Apple has nothing to do with flash. Adobe has not been able to create a version of flash that works with iOS and have given up on trying to make it work. There are apps on the AppStore that supposedly work with flash, search for them. Also read this article http://www.apple.com/hotnews/thoughts-on-flash/

There is a couple browsers that you can try and aren’t free. I swifter is one and puffin is another. The first being the better. I use them to play games on Facebook. Hope this helps.

There is a couple browsers that you can try and aren’t free. I swifter is one and puffin is another. The first being the better. I use them to play games on Facebook. Hope this helps.

Did some further reading this evening and can see this is a «hot button» subject with much back and forth by a number of users here. We did not realize this particular software is not supported by Apple. Frankly, we are laymen at this and doing research on what Apple supports/not supports was the furthest from our minds.

We have a lifetime of experience in the work world in the Windows environment and since retirement decided to migrate to the «best in class» Apple products. We DO like the quickness and intuitiveness of Apple’s approach to doing things but frankly think we should be able, using these new Apple devices, to access legitimate websites.

We really want to know the time. not how the watch works.

Respectfuly, you are talking about Windows computers environment and comparing them to a phone and a tablet.

Not a fair comparison at all.

There are phones and tablets that run Flash, but speaking of hot button topic, read some of those stories.

I do want to give a +1 vote to melvins suggestion. iSwifter, though not polished to an Apple standard, does work very well on Flash content web sites. I don’t play Flash games, but I rarely have any problem with it when visiting Flash intensive sites.

Question: Q: Flash Support?

Does the new iPad now have Flash support/Java? Like if I wanted to play RuneScape or visit websites that contain flash? Or when I go to these sites and areas on it, will it show something like this.

Well, darn. Everything else on it looks remarkable. The thinness, touchscreen technology like the iPhone/iPod Touch, and the only thing I see missing within it is the Flash support.

There can’t be a more often discussed topic here. Why couldn’t you just do a search?

No it doesn’t support Flash. No Apple to don intend to allow Flash on the iPad. The fight between Adobe and Apple has been one of the major tech stories of the year. 1 minute with Google would have told you this.

But, you know, why waste your own time with Google when you can waste everyone else’s with the umpteenth repost of this question.

Because as volunteers here, we read most posts to see if we can help.

Flash posts are especially frustrating as practically the entire civilized world knows the iPads and iPhones don’t support Flash. When someone posts the question, it’s clear they had no idea what they were purchasing and/or did not research before dropping that kind of cash — kind of stupid if you ask me.

I hope your trip to the other Galaxy was good, since you are not aware of the Flash subject that the all solar system already knows.

Jokes aside, but I just was not able to avoid, no Flash.

Adobe Flash Player EOL General Information Page

Since Adobe no longer supports Flash Player after December 31, 2020 and blocked Flash content from running in Flash Player beginning January 12, 2021, Adobe strongly recommends all users immediately uninstall Flash Player to help protect their systems.

Some users may continue to see reminders from Adobe to uninstall Flash Player from their system. See below for more details on how to uninstall Flash Player.

Adobe stopped supporting Flash Player beginning December 31, 2020 (“EOL Date”), as previously announced in July 2017.

Open standards such as HTML5, WebGL, and WebAssembly have continually matured over the years and serve as viable alternatives for Flash content. Also, major browser vendors are integrating these open standards into their browsers and deprecating most other plug-ins (like Flash Player). See Flash Player EOL announcements from Apple, Facebook, Google, Microsoft and Mozilla.

By providing more than three years’ advance notice, Adobe believes that there has been sufficient time for developers, designers, businesses, and other parties to migrate Flash content to new standards. The EOL timing was in coordination with some of the major browser vendors.

After the EOL Date, Adobe will not issue Flash Player updates or security patches. Adobe strongly recommends immediately uninstalling Flash Player. To help secure your system, Adobe blocked Flash content from running in Flash Player beginning January 12, 2021. Major browser vendors have disabled and will continue to disable Flash Player from running.

Flash Player may remain on your system unless you uninstall it. Uninstalling Flash Player will help secure your system since Adobe will not issue Flash Player updates or security patches after the EOL Date. Adobe blocked Flash content from running in Flash Player beginning January 12, 2021 and the major browser vendors have disabled and will continue to disable Flash Player from running after the EOL Date.

Click “Uninstall” when prompted by Adobe, or follow these manual uninstall instructions for Windows and Mac users.
