[List] Working Sideloaded Android Wear Apps (Not Maintained anymore)

THIS DOC IS NO LONGER ACTIVELY MAINTAINED!
Sorry for this, but real life took over and managed to take so much of my time up that I’m no longer able to verify and test stuff on my own. Besides, since Android Wear 6 a lot of things changed and I’d have to test all of these apps again.
Greetings dear Android Wear users!
Today I got my LG G Watch and I’m just amazed by the capabilities of that watch so I thought I’d create a list of all working sideloaded apps.
For everyone who doesn’t know: Sideloaded Apps are .apk files installed directly to the watch via ADB.
Since Android Wear is technically the same and the specs for every watch are also kind of in the same range this list will most likely apply to your own Android Wear watch too, even when it’s not an LG G Watch.
Please report any weird behaviors here with the keywords mentioned below to make things easier for me to search and add to the list.
The list of all sideloaded apps working on Android Wear can be found on Google Docs (to make things more simple for me to update).
Want to help?
If you want to help making this list bigger and better please write the following keywords into your reply/report so I can find things easier and faster:
«Tested & Working» — App install works and application is running and starts without a force-close.
«Tested & Crashing» — App installed but crashes/force-closes at start up.
«Tested & Report» — App installed and runs fine but is unusable (e.g. GUI is too big, example would be Temple Run 2)
This makes my work a whole lot easier and my thankfulness for you even bigger
And now: Have fun testing!

Probably not SwiftKey (minuum is probably best suited to wear anyway), and definitely not WhatsApp. If you look at the guide by Corbin Davinport on pushing APKs to android wear, he says that he found that apps that require internet connection do not work. Therefor, WhatsApp wont be able to directly connect, as you would design the app so that it works through the devices Bluetooth connection to connect to the internet. However, I believe the developer of Wear Messenger has an app that lets you access WhatsApp through text messages, which then allows you to use WhatsApp from wear messenger.
The second point of this post is directed at OP,
In the google docs, it lists «Don’t tap the white tile» as partially working and intermittently crashing in certain game modes. Once again referring to the guide by Corbin, the crashes arise whenever the app try’s to show an ad. If you go into the settings and disable banner ads and only allow popups, you can get to the end of the game without the app crashing. It probably will crash at the end though if it tries to show an ad as this tries to connect to the internet, and that causes apps on wear to crash. One would probably be able to fix this by decompiling and recompiling the application to remove ads.

Hey, thanks for this tip! Will correct it as soon as I’m in the office again
That guide I know, even know the guy who made it. I’ll probably create a tiny little program which will make pushing, installing and initializing the connection easier.

These are the Best Wear OS Apps: Todoist, Outlook, IFTTT, and more!
The Apple Watch is often regarded as one of the best smartwatches in the industry. While that’s mainly because the Apple Watch is indeed a fantastic product, it’s also partly because there’s no stiff competition on the Android side of things. Wear OS has been ignored for a long time by Google, and it was only recently they announced during Google I/O 2021 that Wear OS would receive yet another attempt of revival with the help of a partnership with Samsung. While this is certainly exciting, we’re yet to see watches with the new version of Wear OS, and existing watches (even Google is unsure of the compatibility) still haven’t received the update either.
While we wait for the biggest Wear OS update in years, we decided to compile a list of some of the best Wear OS apps you must try if you have a Wear OS watch already. If you’re waiting to pick up a watch from the new batch of Wear OS smartwatches (which is a smart thing to do at this point), then bookmark this page as these are all the apps you’d need to install to get you started on Wear OS.
From productivity to utilities to entertainment, we’ve covered all the popular genres of Wear OS apps. If you’re also looking for the best apps for your smartphone along with your smartwatch, we also have a list of the best Android apps.
Navigate this article:
Essential Apps
These are the apps that form the core experience on Wear OS and the ones you must have on your smartwatch. While these Wear OS apps may not be new or unique or provide some insane functionality, they do have simple functions that make your life easier on a regular basis and improve convenience.
Messages
One of the most important use-cases for a smartwatch, let alone one with Wear OS, is the ability to check your notifications. It eliminates the need to check your smartphone regularly while you’re working, and is a good way to avoid distractions if the notification you received isn’t important.
While you can reply to notifications by default on Wear OS, you can’t initiate chats or conversations unless you have the Messages app. Using the Messages for Wear OS app, you can send text messages to your friends and family right from your smartwatch and continue existing conversation threads from your smartphone directly on your watch. When you’re in a hurry or you’re driving, this is a convenient way to use voice input to draft a quick message.

Android Wear APK Tools:
A GUI application which allows you to install any APK straight to your watch (via adb) or uninstall any non-protected package directly. Much more convenient than doing it through the adb command line.
Windows:
Unzip Android-Wear-APK-Tools.zip, and run Android-Wear-APK-Tools.exe
Linux:
Run the following command in terminal, and then open AndroidWearAPKTools.py
Mac:
Install Python from here, then run AndroidWearAPKTools.py

Connect your watch to your computer, enable ADB Debugging on your phone and your watch, and make sure ADB and the drivers are set up on your computer.

Doesnt work for me.
I opened it, clicked connect to watch, then it told me that it has connected, i can see the list of all the apps that i have installed on my phone. But android wear doesnt tell me that its connected.
I tried to uninstall an app, then it gave me an error. Then i tried installing an app, and it just stayed on «installing app, please wait» for a very very long time.

Yes, it is possible. The info was provided in another forum (requires registration), for watches that use full Android instead of Wear, like Amazfit Pace. I’ve found this info here:
http://amazfitcentral.com/2017/11/16/use-android-wear-apps-amazfit-pace/
I have successfully ported some, it’s not that hard. Most apps for AW 1.5 that doesn’t require the companion phone app to work are very easy to install on Pace.

These are all apps that I found on forums and such while looking for Pace compatible apps. They should mostly work (I haven’t tested all of them). As far as I know all of these apps are free. If anyone is the owner/developer of any of these apps and would like me to remove them let me know.

Thank you for the Amazefit Pace compatible apps.
I have been looking for «A Scheduler» application for Amazfit Pace where I can schedule an appointment a month or 2 months later, an an alarm or alert will notify me at the scheduled time.
If anyone here can help me with that application I will be very very happy.

This apps works well with small round displays, and can sync over wifi so you can use your computer or phone to enter data and read it on your watch:
— TickTick (very good reminder app even in free version, can connect with Twitter or email account)
play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ticktick.task
TickTick usually uses RAM while on background (needed for sync and notifications, of course), otherwise it performs very well. I just wanted TickTick to remove the top bar when scrolling an item when viewing it.

Hi
Thank you very much for the reply.
I just installed the Tick Tick in my Mobile phone, but this app is for Mobile phone and not for Amazefit pace watch.
Is the Mobile app able to remind me on my Amaze fit watch.
Thanks in advance.

I can’t get android studio to work (Error:Android Source Generator: Error: Can’t find bundle for base name messages.AndroidJpsBundle, locale nl_NL ) and i don’t know how too.
Somebody here who can make it work for Stratos or give me some guide how i can make it work with Android Studio?
The original stopwatch is laggy and verry diffcult to touch

Tick Tick application not available for watch
Senior Member
Hello. Did you read my previous comment? You must download and install the regular app (the same used on phones) to the watch. Then open it and choose the account to sync it using WiFi.
Once TickTick is installed on watch, connect with your Twitter account (you must have done this on phone too, same account, so it can sync to watch). You will need a browser, I recommend installing XBrowser on watch too, it is small and works well. You may want to install PaceOn too, it turns WiFi on and keep the screen on so it doesn’t disconnect.

Sorry, but I don’t like to apps outside Play Store. That said, I have used files downloaded from APKMirror or APKPure (I can’t guarantee this one is safe), OsmAnd is version 2.5.3 and Galileo Free is 1.6.6.
Regarding hiking, I have tested both regular apps (the one that runs on phones) and they work somehow on Pace too, ViewRanger is very sluggish, but AlpineQuest runs surprisingly well (only the paid version records tracks tho):
